US approves 785 million dollar aid for Pakistan

No strings attached. No conditions about fighting against the jihad. The Bush Administration made sure of that. From ANI (thanks to PRCS):

Washington, Dec 19 (ANI): The US House of Representatives has passed a 785 million dollar aid package for Pakistan for the fiscal year 2008 despite its reservations over the state of emergency imposed on November 3.

The US Senate is also expected to approve the package, which includes 300 million dollar of military assistance. The other major item on the approved list is that of 350 million dollar for economic support fund.

The package for Pakistan includes 50.9 million dollar of development assistance, 39.8 million dollar for child survival and health, 10.3 million dollar for anti-terrorism activities, 32 million dollar for anti-narcotics efforts, and two million for training and education of military officers in the United States.

This is part of a five-year 3.5 billion dollar package signed in June 2003, when President Pervez Musharraf visited the Camp David presidential resort for a meeting with President George W. Bush.

The bill approved by the House also includes a provision authorising the Bush Administration to provide assistance to build the capacity of Pakistan's other security forces critical to the success of counter-terrorist operations....

One resolution calls for conditioning US military assistance to "demonstrable progress by the government of Pakistan in achieving certain objectives" towards the restoration of full democracy.

But the Bush Administration warned the lawmakers not to attach conditions to US assistance to Pakistan.

" 39.8 million dollar for child survival and health,"

...Islam is detrimental to both child survival and child health....physically, morally, and mentally...

...unless you remove Islam from the childrens lives, all you will get are child brides and suicide bombers....and plenty of dead bodies....

,,,,the children do not need the money as much as they need rescuing from Islam....

...Until then, Ban Muslim Immigration....

"two million for training and education of military officers in the United States.."

....does this include the purchase of any good books about Islam, or the fees for some great lectures from those knowledgeable in the ways of Islam or Islamic doctrine?......If they are going into harms way (Islam is a big part of harms way in todays world), it certainly seems reasonable that we spend some time and money in educating our brave men everything we can about Islam and Islams tricks, myths, tactics, rhetoric, lies, and we should teach them the best ways to combat Islam...

....Islam seeks to kill them...they deserve the right to know the truth about Islam...

...until then, Ban Muslim Immigration...

Merry Christmas Pakistan from Santa George. If this money gets the Taliban wiped out fine but somehow I think not.

Great move, Bush. Why don't you send the money directly to OSama bin Laden?

Bush is a total disgrace on this war against islamic nazism.

exsgtbrown,

The way I read it, the article means the funds are to bring Pakistani officers to the United States to receive training here.

In the third world, the officer corps in many countries is the only "enlightened" group outside of the controlling elites. Generally, there is no large and independent middle class there, just the rulers and the masses. So--it is hoped--a truly professional military is the only available counterbalance against pure despotism, the officer corps is the only potential source for future societal reformers, and the foreign military is the only possible leverage that we in the West have in those benighted regions.

In many situations, I think those ideas have some merit. But the Islamic world is clearly unique in its death-embracing totalitarian world view, and I am sure we do not get our money's worth assisting their militaries. Any leverage we gain, if any, in the Islamic world is transient, hope of future reform is non-existent, and despotism is the ancient and perpetual norm--all because of of the domination of Islam, the 7th century fascist death cult.

The other major consideration in military assistance programs of this kind is who will move in there if we aren't providing that assistance. If we in the West don't provide the training and weapons, then someone with more sinister intentions (and nasty methods and lack of ethics)--the Russians or the Chinese--will.

In this particular case, no strings are attached. So, I don't see the logic of it, other than to keep out the aforementioned bad actors.

The government absolutely refuses to learn anything. It's one thing to make a mistake but to constantly repeat them is just unacceptable.

This all stems from the belief that poverty causes terrorism, and despite all the evidence to the contrary, they will continue to believe it. Any other idea goes against the PC orthodoxy and is heretical.
