Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali stands by his views

Anti-dhimmitude. An update on this story.

By Jonathan Petre for the Telegraph:

The Church of England bishop who provoked a storm by claiming Islamic extremists were making some areas "no-go" zones for non-Muslims has said he stood by his comments.

The Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, faced calls for his resignation after his article in The Sunday Telegraph.

But speaking from India, where he is attending a conference, the bishop claimed successive governments had failed to foster an "integrating vision" for Britain.[...]

"I deeply regret any hurt and do not wish to cause offence to anyone, let alone my Muslim friends, but unless we diagnose the malaise from which we all suffer we shall not be able to discover the remedy," he said.

Don't hold your breath:

Gordon Brown said: "I know that there are pressures in many areas of the country but I don't accept that there are or should be no-go areas in any part of the country."

.....and the government denies this truism?....

Brown may have well as said: "I stick my head in the sand, therefore it doesn't exist." What is it going to take, muslims making the area around 10 Downing Street a no-go zone? Or will he continue sticking his head in the sand?

"I don't accept that there are or SHOULD BE no- go areas in any part of the country." WTF? Can this quote be accurate?

Posted by: MP [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 9, 2008 4:57 PM

MP; When he says "I don't accept that there are..." does he mean that he finds them unacceptable and will do everything in his power to eradicate them? ;)

There are areas in every large city that could be deemed no-go areas by the cautious. In these areas, those who are perceived as being easy crime victims are occasionally 'bothered.' The motivation is usually money.

The difference here is that the motivation is religion. A completely different mind set.

If Mr. Brown is so confident that these no-go areas do not exist, he may want to visit one of those mentioned by Rt. Rev. Michael Nazir-Ali, just to prove it. And remember, they are not no-go areas, they are completely safe for infidels, so leave the bodyguards at home.

Good for the Bishop.

Maybe Gordon Brown's wife, Mrs. Brown should stroll into a mosque and see if there are any of those 'no-go zones'.

Posted by: alaskan1000 [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 9, 2008 8:06 PM

DaninVan - My read is that he denies that such zones exist. Perhaps the "should be" part of his statement means shall be in the future. So they do not exist now, nor will they exist at some future date. I grew up in Baltimore with a Glaswegian grandma, so English is not really my first language.

Just because an uncovered woman might be called a kuffar whore doesn't mean she can't go there.

Perhaps Mr Bean should rent a flat in Bradford or Burnley and enjoy first hand the fruits of his much vaunted Islamic society.

MP; sorry, I was being ironic. I have no doubt that the Bishop knows exactly whereof he speaks... and the politician is responding with the old 'deny, deny, deny'.

May God bless and protect Bp Nazir-Ali, along with others like him - Bp Reade, and Bp Patrick Sookhdeo.

May he, and they, refuse to be silenced.

May they exercise their duty of pastoral counsel toward such of Britain's politicians, local and national, as supposedly share their faith.

May they publicly, in full episcopal panoply, 'do the rounds' of all parish churches situated in, or near, the Islamised no-go-for-infidel zones within their dioceses.

Then, after large numbers of Muslims within those zones have expressed extreme displeasure (in all the usual violent, nasty ways) at the incredibly offensive sight of Christians who refuse to behave like dhimmis, let's see if Gordon Brown can manage to deny that there's a problem.

Just ask Mr Gordon Brown to wear the star of David, and stroll down any EastEnd or Bradford street. We'd love to hear of his experience here.

He denies the existense of muslim areas, the muslims themselves say the do exist. Everywhere in Europe they exist. In France they are called ZUS and there are about 800 of them, when they flare-up in violence they ar called 'Parisian surbubs', but it is not Jean and Jeanne who protest after their hard day at the Sorbonne. These areas exist in Antwerp, Rotterdam, Lyons, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Malmo - continue with any European city over 50.000 inhabitants.

And why, oh why, are they always called 'religious groups'. It's not buddhists, presbyterians, or methodists. It's islamic groups, we all know that. How can you even dream of solving a problem if you are afraid of calling it by it's name?

First thing is to get rid of the Orwellian 'New Speak'.

God bless Bp. Nazir-Ali. The candle that Cranmer and Ridley lit in the days of Bloody Mary still burns; and may it burn forever. What a pity that the CofE is headed by the devious Rowan Williams in these perilous times.

Indeed, the problem is that too many are willfully blind when they are pretending to be liberal and broad-minded.

As usual Brown pretends he is unaware of a problem that he is fully aware of, rather than have to take difficult decisions that may affect HIS career.

He said he "doesn't accept" there are no-go areas. Well maybe I don't accept the sky is blue or water wet; doesn't mean it isn't true.

Who elected this man? Oh, I forgot, no one.

Welcome to communist (or should I say Stalinist) Britain, where everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others.

I love democracy. What happened to it?

Pakistani Christians know how to deal with muslims. And we Pakistani Christians know their mind set, their excuses, their evil plans. Muslims can easily fool white europeans but they can not fool Pakistani Christians.

This is the type of courageous leader all Christian denominations need. I applaud him, the Anglican Church needs leaders like him to turn things around.

I do have to say, I notice the lack of posts from people chomping at the bit to say "this is not enough", "he should say more" and other such statements as they do when Pope Benedict speaks. Interesting how that works....

Was it Gordon Brown that was told "how dare you come into a moslem area" and hightailed it out of there? Will see if I can find it.

Yes indeed, Gordon Brown is both and idiot and in denial. Hell, even the BBC gets it - sometimes:

"The racial tensions which led to the attack on 76-year-old World War II veteran Walter Chamberlain in Oldham this week have been simmering for three or four years."

"Last year more than 600 racist incidents were logged by Oldham police and in 60% of them the victims were white."

" More than 180 of the racial incidents were violent and the vast majority of those were attacks by Asian youths - usually in gangs of anything from six to 20 - on lone white males."

" Areas of Oldham occupied by the Asian communities are considered to be no-go areas by many Oldham residents although, contrary to recent publicity, there are not - and never have been - "whites keep out" signs in any parts of the town."

"At its core, however, it is criminally thuggish behaviour and looking for excuses or reasons to justify the level of violent attacks experienced in Oldham recently would be a very dangerous road to tread."

Note this article dates from 2001. Just where have Brown, and Blair, been for the past seven years.

DaninVan: Pleased to meet you again. Happy New Year.

God bless Bp. Nazir-Ali. The candle that Cranmer and Ridley lit in the days of Bloody Mary still burns; and may it burn forever.

Why bring up Cranmer and Ridley? If you want to mention a martyr, why not mention St. John Fisher? He was after all, Bishop of Rochester, Nazir-Ali's see.

Note that in all your quotes the word 'asians' are used. I see, so those thai's and japanese are at it again huh?, or is it the troublesome vietnamese and koreans beating up old ladies?

No it is not. It it the usual gang of suspects from various countries in the middle east, all having one thing in common - they are believers of 'the religion of peace' ISLAM, who happens to be at war with every other religion known to man. No where - nowhere - in the world are muslims living in peaceful co-existense with any non-moslem neighbours or in any country of mixed religion where islam is one of them.

Blame the right people, it is moslems all the time. Start fixing the problem by identifying it and call it by it's name. In my country (Denmark) the word 'immigrants' is used. We don't have problems with russian doctors, english engineers and scolars, or US businessmen. We have major problems with muslim youth, especially young men who act like they ar time-fused zombies, ready to go off any minute.

Now I can be put 2 years in jail according to the latest EU regulations. I mention Islam in the context of violence, and by doing that, I spread xenophobia. Welcome to the brave new world.

Well, Mr Brown, perhaps you should consult the "esteemed" Abu Izzadeen. Home Secretary John Reid already heard from him.

Hey, I ran that 'Oldham' story through the special de-dhimmifier device we old hands at jihadwatch/ dhimmiwatch learn to use. Look what comes out, once one gets rid of the dhimmi weaselwording.

"The Muslim aggression which led to the attack on 76-year-old World War II veteran Walter Chamberlain in Oldham this week has been brewing for three or four years."
"Last year more than 600 acts of verbal and/or physical aggression were logged by Oldham police and in 60% of them the victims were non-Muslim people attacked by Muslims."
" More than 180 of the incidents were violent and the vast majority of those were attacks by mainly Pakistani Muslim youths - usually in gangs of anything from six to 20 - on lone non-Muslim Englishmen."
" Areas of Oldham occupied by Muslims are considered to be no-go areas by many other, non-Muslim residents of Oldham, although, contrary to recent publicity, there are not - and never have been - "Infidels Keep Out" signs in any parts of the town."
"At its core, however, this religiously-inspired bullying is criminal, and looking for excuses or reasons to justify the level of Muslim aggression experienced by non-Muslims in Oldham recently would be a very dangerous road to tread."

When news stories start to read like THAT (the un-dhimmified rewrite that I have attempted, here), then the battle will begin to be won.

"Gordon Brown said: 'I know that there are pressures in many areas of the country but I don't accept that there are or should be no-go areas in any part of the country'."
----------------------

He didn't happen to mention that there are definitely places HE HIMSELF wouldn't go, and that he wouldn't let his wife or children or friends or co-workers go there either, now did he? Oh, that's right, he said he "didn't accept" the notion. He didn't say it was totally false. He just doesn't like it. Amen, Gordo, the rest of us don't like it either. Now - are you going to offend your EU masters and mention "violence" and "Muslims" in the same sentence? Or are you going to betray your country and kinsmen, and Western Civilization as well? (Afraid I know the answer, sadly...)

In the UK, the term "Asians" is commonly understood to mean Pakistanis (and maybe, but not primarily, Indians).
