Sharia Alert from...Central Europe. It has come to this: Susanne Winter faces an investigation and possibly two years in prison for speaking negatively about Muhammad and Islam. I wonder if, regarding Muhammad's marriage to a nine-year-old and its value as an example for Muslim men and Islamic jurists, truth and accuracy could be a defense. And I also wonder if she would be facing similar prosecution for insulting Jesus and Christianity. What do you think?

Vienna - Remarks by a right-wing politician denouncing Islam and accusing the Prophet Mohammed of having been a paedophile provoked widespread outrage in Austria on Monday, with authorities investigating whether they constituted hate speech.Susanne Winter, a candidate for the Freedom Party in local elections in Graz in south-eastern Austria, said on Sunday that Mohammed's marriage to a 6-year-old girl would make the prophet a 'paedophile in today's system.'
Speaking at a rally, Winter demanded that Islam should be 'thrown back where it came from, beyond the Mediterranean Sea.'
Winter later justified her attacks. 'There is widespread child abuse by Muslim men,' she was quoted as saying by the newspaper Oesterreich.
'Why can't I say this? That has nothing to do with hate speech. We want neither Austrian nor foreign paedophiles. I did not want to incite hatred, or offend a religious community,' she said.
Austria's authorities were investigating whether Winter's remarks constituted incitement to hatred, a spokesman from the prosecutor's office said. If found guilty, Winter could face up to two years in prison.

Let's see, Austria is made up of some 75 PCt Catholic, and another 8 Pct. of other Christian denominations. The Islamic community is only 4 1/2 Pct. of the population and yet Austria is apparently bending to their will. The warped disease of multiculturalism must be in full grip in Austria. One complaint from a local cleric or a middle east embassy, and the Austrian Authorities are asked to jump, and they say ;how high? Apparently discussing the tenants of the Qu'ran, and hadiths is already off limits in Austria.

Freedom of speech alert: Since when is statement of fact disallowed, or seen as 'hate speech' bigotry? Is Austria sliding backward into medieval thought control on religious grounds... in the name of multiculturalism? Only in the invert revert logic of Islam can such a thing happen, where speeking one's conscience becomes a crime.

Cantor - I believe that according to islam, they were married when she was six, but mohammed, ever the gentleman, held off from consummating the marriage until she reached the ripe old age of nine.

This is only going to get worse. Don't worry legislation is on the books to cure this in the E.U. they are planing legislation to cure us of Xenophobia and racism which seems endemic in we white European Aboriginals. When it comes into force the new BLASPHEMY POLICE IN BRUSSELS will be able to say what is Xenophobic or racist. When the new treaty is signed in Lisbon I think next year they will be able to send there goons all over the continent and have us arrested for thought crimes against what they think is right and proper. Nobody even has to make a complain the way they have to do now before the police investigate. It will be down to solely what they thing is a hate crime. The punishment is draconian they will be able to put you in prison take away any benefits you might be entitled to, force you into bankruptcy ban you from practising a trade and place you under judicial supervision. I presume that is house arrest. Nobody will be safe from there snooping. What ever does not fit there vision of utopia will be stamped on. While the exact age of Ayesha, the prophet’s wife, at the time of her marriage cannot be known for certain, most Islamic scholars deduce she was at least 14 years old, with some even suggesting she was in her twenties.

Until I found this site I thougth the battle was lost, that I was the only one who realised we were in a religious war.
I sincerely hope Susanne Winter becomes Austria's leader, and would it be too much too hope that she could become Europe's leader?
Race does not give me a problem, my problem is with religious intolerance, this is the root cause of the trouble.
We have been in a war since before the First Crusade, and it is still not over.

Yes.
Myself, for some months I've been mentally calling it "the Third Jihad" (I think Bernard Lewis used the term not so long ago?). From about the 1940s/ 1950s we have been seeing the 'third wave' of expansion of Islam (if you look at, say, Bostom's Legacy of Jihad you can see that, roughly speaking, there have been two major periods of swift, violent expansion followed by rollbacks/ collapses/ lulls).
Both Bernard Lewis and Jacques Ellul saw it this way.
Here is what Ellul wrote in his prologue to Bat Yeor's "The Dhimmi", in MAY 1983, twenty-five years ago.
"Maintenant que l'islam a un pouvoir national, militaire, economique, il cherchera a s'etendre sur le plan religieux a tout le monde. Et le Commonwealth britannique ainsi que les Etats-Unis seront vises aussi. En face de cette expansion (LA TROISIEME D'ISLAM", il ne faut pas reagir par un racisme, ni par une fermeture orthodoxe, ni par des persecutions ou la guerre. Il doit y avoir une reaction d'ordre spirituel et d'ordre psychologique (ne pas se laisser emporter par la mauvaise conscience) et une reaction d'ordre scientifique."
"Now that Islam has national, military and economic power, it will attempt to extend its religion all over the world. And both the British Commonwealth and the United States are in its sights. In the face of this expansion (THE THIRD EXPANSION OF ISLAM) one should not react by racism, nor by an orthodox dogmatism, nor by persecution or war. Personally, I do not think that Ellul, despite his general preference for pacifism, was advising that we meekly do nothing - lie down and surrender. I think rather that his warning against 'racism' or 'war' (in 1983) involved a sober recognition that we needed to know, first of all, exactly what we were dealing with, so as not to 'go off half-cocked' when we did decide to act.
After all: had more people listened to him, and to Bat Yeor, no young Americans, Canadians, Australians or Brits would be getting killed trying to herd mutually-murderous Kilkenny cats in Iraq or Afghanistan.
And - had we heeded Ellul's warning about not getting carried away by 'guilt feelings' (i.e.'tolerance', 'PC', tu quoque, etc?) Susanne Winter would not be facing two years in jail for the 'sin' of publicising what all Muslims already believe to be true of Mohammed and Aisha. For all the Infidels in Europe would KNOW that she was simply telling the truth.
