Islamabad, January 17:: A radical Islamic group in Pakistan’s Khyber Agency bordering Afghanistan has warned that any man shaving his beard will have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000.Haji Namdar, the chief of the Tanzim Bilmaroof (group for promotion of virtue), announced a ban on shaving in a broadcast made on Wednesday from his illegal FM radio station.
“Shaving the beard is forbidden in Islam and I feel duty-bound to make every Muslim of my tribe sport a beard,” said Namdar.
The Tanzim Bilmaroof had earlier imposed fines for various acts it says are against the teachings of Islam. This includes a fine of Rs 50,000 for owning a dish antenna for receiving satellite TV broadcasts and a fine of Rs 500 for not praying five times a day.
The group has also banned listening to music and watching TV. It has also imposed a fine of Rs 500 for each audio cassette found in any person’s possession. Volunteers of the Tanzim Amr Bilmaroof have severely beaten tribesmen who do not cover their heads....
The Tanzim Bilmaroof also has links with the Lashkar-e-Islam militant group led by Mangal Bagh. The Lashkar-e-Islam too has banned several “un-Islamic acts” and imposed severe fines for violators.

Its like any other cult, severe penalities for stepping out of line, to late muslims ( moderate or otherwise ) your people that have seen freedoms like ours want the same, you can kill off the bodies but the ideas will live longer and will succeed!!!!!

Now I can really sympathise with ...
... Hindus - because they put up with much, much more than this many many years ago ..
Obviously Pakistan is an "occupied territory" that has been "taken by force" and that the dis-posessed Hindus who have their ancestral homes there taken by force should have the "right of return" ..
.. or maybe a "certain community" think not ..

...unless it becomes necessary to do so when needed to sneak into the land or camp of the enemy to kill innocent civilians...then all rules are off....

I have had a beard since my senior year in high school, so I guess I'm safe.
Allah, who is the creator of the universe, has nothing to worry about but men's beards and women's burkas. Is Allah a deity or is He a frustrated fashion judge on "Project Runway"?

...when you view videos of the Taliban, it becomes very apparent that neatness and cleaniness are not virtues they believe in....not to mention the ugly clothes they wear....
...Of course the Taliban is eliminating fights between its members regarding hurt feelings over clothing...all must wear the same ugly outfits....just sandals, and wrap around robes and stifling turbins....
...Islam is a sadistic cult doing all it can to make its followers miserable....they must suffer unbearable clothing, poverty , misery, and death...and they praise Allah for making it so....
