If they really were Christian Crusaders, wouldn't they be stopping things like this?
"Green Party rejects Manley Report conclusions," from the Green Party Canada site (thanks to Ray):
OTTAWA – The federal Green Party shares a vision of a stable and secure Afghanistan, but today challenged the newly-released Manley Report’s premise that Canada’s troops must remain in Khandahar beyond February of 2009 to achieve this objective.“The Manley Report fails to consider that the recommendation of more ISAF forces from a Christian/Crusader heritage will continue to fuel an insurgency that has been framed as a ‘Jihad’. This, in turn, may feed the recruitment of suicide bombers and other insurgents,” said Green Party leader Elizabeth May. “Better human security is certainly needed in the South but it should be provided by a different cultural mix of UN countries as well as the Afghan army and police. Even if this proves challenging to accomplish, this key objective should have been included.”

"a different cultural mix". Uh Huh. Of who? The Taliban? How about another Muslim country. Na, forget that, they never offer to help out, unless of course it's for jihadists.
Ms. Green should stick to environmental issues. That would be best.

"The Manley Report fails to consider that Afghanistan is merely one theatre, and not a very important one, in the world-wide Jihad, and fails to demonstrate how making Afghanistan a more prosperous and unified state for its Musilms will lead to any effective measures against the Money Weapon, campaigns of Da'wa, and demographic conquest, especially in the countries of Western Europe. Furthermore, the Green Party is open to the suggestion of an alliance of intelligent convenience between those who wish to limit the use of fossil fuels out of a desire to deprive those who promote Jihad through the instrument of the Money Weapon (some ten trillion dollars to Muslim members of OPEC since 1973 alone), and those who wish to limit the use of fossil fuels because of concern about anthropogenic climate change, which at this point is almost certain to lead to the disappearance of 90% of the world's species, and to lead to catastrophic rises in the sea level, within a century, that in pre-historic times took hundreds of thousands of years."

Elizabeth May is one of the most perfect examples of a tree-hugging leftist looney that has ever been seen in Canada. She is an embarrassment.

Christian? That's not an insult!
Crusader? That's not an insult!
Call me a Christian Crusader anytime you want, imbecile Elizabeth May.

Insulting the Canadian Armed Forces, is she?
Implying that no Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Taoists, Buddhists, pantheists, agnostics, atheists, Wiccans or other pagans join?
Good move, schmuckette.
Cut your own throat and save the Jihadis the trouble.

Perhaps some of these lentil-sucking numbskulls would like to go over to Afghanistan and show Canadian troops how it's done.
They could discuss women's and gay rights with the Taliban. Maybe even watch a football match in the new stadium in Kabul; oh, except that it's now used for executions rather than playing football.

Elizabeth May is a complete nutter. Nobody takes her seriously. She's got a snowball's chance in hell of ever becoming prime minister. She got in a lot of trouble for calling Stephen Harper a nazi over his refusal to sign on to Kyoto.

The executions probably draw a bigger crowd, too. I'd like to have the kebab concession.

And of course the bitter irony -which was pointed out in the header- is that the US invasion of Iraq - AKA Operation "Infidel Extinction" - has seen the most secular of Arab states become the most Islamist of states -with a healthy and blossoming friendship with Tehran- whilst Afghanistan is two thirds controlled by the Taliban -according to Bodansky- and the good guys are just as nuttified as the bad 'uns.
And all for a cool trillion plus dollars.
But the US economy can handle it.
