Separate but unequal: Iran considers issuing different textbooks to male, female students

We don't need no (sharia-stifled) education. We don't need no thought control. Hey! Mullah! Leave them kids alone! "Iran: School textbooks latest target of sexual apartheid," from Adnkronos International:

Tehran, 25 Jan. (AKI) - Iranian authorities are looking at new restrictions that will create different school textbooks for boys and girls.
Ali Reza Ali Ahmadi, responsible to the interim public education minister, told a seminar on textbooks there was a need to provide students with books according to "the requirements of age and sex" to satisfy their particular needs.
"The spiritual, physical, and mental needs of boys and girls are not identical, and therefore textbooks that give them information cannot be the same," Ali Ahmadi told the seminar.
"The goal is not, however, one that will discriminate against female students but on the contrary give a more precise response to the needs of students."

That is, a more precise response to what we say they need.

The education official asked textbook authors "not to photocopy western textbooks, because our textbooks must only have space for our values and not those of other cultures".

Those mullahs must be making Carol Gilligan very happy. Two versions of apprehending reality, two "languages" or gender-linked "dialects," and of course, two different pronouns to be used in every example:
a "he" for Him and a "she" for Her.

Now if only her colleague at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Howard Gardner, can have his psychological needs met in a similar fashion, by some kind of U.N. resolution, passed by one and all, in which the assembled representatives of that "International Community" solemnly agree that there really is no such thing as "I.Q." and, at most, there are only "multiple intelligences" no one of which is any more important than another, and no one should ever feel bad or embarrassed, and All Shall Have Prizes. And no one -- child or adult -- will ever be Left Behind.

It's real simple, folks:

SEPARATE IS NEVER EQUAL. ... PERIOD.

The girls, having only half the worth of a male, only get half a book.

(It is were the Koran, I'd be all for it, since it is at least half-psychopathic.)

"our textbooks must only have space for our values and not those of other cultures".

This is the perfect discription of a mono-culture.

hugh:''by some kind of U.N. resolution, passed by one and all, in which the assembled representatives of that "International Community" solemnly agree that there really is no such thing as "I.Q."

Certainly not in the 'Islamist Quotient' ;o)

....clearly the mentality of someone who has not graduated the 7th century....

Here's the Islamic caste system:

Islamic males - can do anything as long as it does not conflict with the laws of Islam.

Islamic females - limited rights, basically the property of Islamic males who are allowed to kill them anytime they dishonor the family.

Dhimmi males - no rights, can be killed anytime, anyplace.

Dhimmi females - no rights and what Islam has in mind for you is too disgusting to go into at a family website.

(I have read a Hindu site where the author claimed that the custom of suttee was born from the necessity of protecting Hindu women (after the death of their husband) from rape before and after death. I have no idea whether or not this is accurate, but I will point out that the Muslim conquest of India is underreported in our histories.)

It is a reaction of a cult/society that is dying from the inside out sort of like a cancer ,if there is any moderate iranians left they need to save their country from this sore
