The UN Security Council members must "correct their past mistakes" and stop snooping into Iran's nuclear program.

DAVOS, Switzerland - Iran's foreign minister on Friday urged the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council to "correct their past mistakes" and draw up a a resolution ending council involvement in his country's nuclear affairs.Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki also said that — while it makes sense to talk with Washington over common interests such as Iraq — he could not imagine substantially improved ties with the United States even after a change in U.S. administrations.

Mottaki's call for an end to a Security Council role in trying to pressure Iran comes amid indications that the council is moving precisely in the other direction and is ready to pass a third round of sanctions for Tehran's refusal to mothball uranium enrichment and meet related demands.
Elements of a new U.N. resolution obtained Friday by the AP outlined new sanction proposals against Iran, including bans on travel, and stepped up monitoring of Tehran's financial institutions.
Asked what his message to the council was, Mottaki said, "it was time now to correct their previous mistakes" — involving itself in Tehran's nuclear program and passing the two sanctions resolutions.
At the minimum, said Mottaki, the council should wait until the International Atomic Energy Agency completes its probe of Iran's past nuclear activities, at the latest in early March.
If that report shows no attempt by Iran to make nuclear weapons — as claimed by the U.S. — council members "should ... pass a new resolution" formally washing their hands of Iran's nuclear activities, he said.

And he said he saw no room for improved relations between Tehran and Washington, even past the approaching change of U.S. administrations. Formal bilateral ties were cut in the wake of the 1979 Iranian hostage taking of U.S. Embassy personnel.
"Usually we do not look to the individuals in the United States or even to the (political) parties — we look to policies," he said.
"Being a realist ... I have to say that I do not see room for the time being for the (establishment) of relations between the Iran and the United States," he added, while acknowledging the sense of bilateral talks on the situation in Iraq.

Hey, they may not have to wait much longer for "mistakes to be corrected". The MSM is constantly boosting John McInsane the m.c.Lame. So either he or Hitlery will no doubt be kissing iranian monky butt very soon..
They will of course have to get in line behind the Euros who are already competing to outdo one another in their shameful displays of humility and dhimmitude vis-a-vis the monkey-in-chief in iran.

Well Iran has the US NIE report that states that Iran has abandoned its Nuclear Weapon program in 2003 and Iran probably knows the IAEA report will arrive at a similar conclusion.
Those involved in Dhimmi watch ahve long condemned George W Bush as some sort of naive ill-made cowboy. And they have a point ... the war was incompetently run and has made future military pre-emption politcally untenable. The only thing worse would be to have let Saddam's regime off the sanctions hook and allow them to react to Irans nuclear ambitions...a Nuclear arms race or prolonged conflict between this pair again would have undoubted blow-back onto the West. So Bush sort of got if half right, and though Iraq is still a work in progress its not all gloom ..but the damage has been done. And with his position on the Israel/Plaestinian problem he's become a liability.
With Iran perhaps being declared of "no" imminent threat it can afford to play the "game" ... and just sit back , put is nuke program into hiatus ( or more probably centrifuge secretly like mad) and quietly concentrate on its ICBM program. Thankyou Bush. Whats more if Hillary ( or Obama) gets in , it will be the return of "see no evil" foreign policy of the Clinton era. And when those trouble-some Israeli Jews start chirping about what they think is real Iranian intent and capability is , it will be "hear no evil" as well. Until evil is finally visited upon us....
