Eurabian Cultural Suicide Update: "Muslim mums win discrimination appeal," from The Local (thanks to Fjordman):
Two Muslim mothers have won a court appeal against a municipal pool in Gothenburg that required them to take off their veils and body-covering clothing.The Court of Appeal for western Sweden found the City of Gothenburg guilty of ethnic discrimination and ordered the authorities to pay the women 20,000 kronor ($3,000) each in damages.
The women, Houda Morabet and Hayal Eroglu, were at the pool separately on two different occasions in April 2004, accompanying their young children but not to swim themselves.
Both were wearing veils, long pants and long-sleeved tee-shirts because their religion does not allow them to reveal parts of their body in public.
In its judgment, the court said that the actions of the swimming pool lifeguards, who insisted that the women should change into tee-shirts, could be deemed discriminatory even if this had not been their intention.
The nature of Sweden's discrimination laws mean that it was up to the City of Gothenburg to prove that the request for the women to remove some of their clothing had nothing to do with their religion.
"In the view of the Court of Appeal, the City of Gothenburg did not succeed in doing this," the court said in a statement....
The lifeguards testified that although there was nothing in the security regulations about veils, the rules did require people in the pool area to wear shorts and tee-shirts, even if they don't plan to swim.
The mothers' cumbersome clothing would have prevented them from coming to the rescue of their children if necessary, they argued.
Sounds reasonable. Am I missing something? Oh yes, multiculturalism and cultural self-hatred.

Unbelievable. These are the rules. Except when they aren't because muslims are exempt. What if someone that wasn't a muslim didn't want to wear shorts? THEY would have to. Only muslims get a pass.

Arabia didn't have swimming pools. So why are these women, who insist on going veiled, using such Infidel facilities, when they don't know how to properly use them (let alone the question of abiding by Infidel rules)

You know, along the line of "Oh, jeez, your social system doesn't provide enough welfare for me me and my twelve children, so I have I have to resort to 'victimization' status to extort more welfare."

In what does the "ethnic discrimination" consist? Had they been native Swedes, and converts to Islam, and dressed in exactly the same burqa'ed fashion, and been asked, for exactly the same reasons as here, to remove those burgas at the municipal swimming pool, would that have consituted "ethnic discrimination"?
No. It would not. And this isn't ethnic discrimination either. Appeal. Don't give up.

...Muslims have problems with rules...especially the rules of the NonMuslims...just as Muslims have problems with laws...especially the laws of NonMuslim host countries....Muslims have problems with religion...especially the religions of the Non Muslims.....
...Muslims are proving themselves to be an intolerant people..unwilling cooperate with the rules of others, unwilling to compromise, unwilling to assimilate into those countries which "supposingly" give them safe haven from the persecutions of the intolerant and violent conditions of their native lands...
....the fact of the matter is that the Muslims flooding the NonMuslim countries is more akin to an invading army intent on conquering foreign lands and the submission of the people of such lands....The Muslims are building operational bases (can you read Mosque) for the issuance of operational orders and the planning of further incursions or raids (can you read lawsuits, land acquisition, physical intimitation, actual violence) and of the implementation of their "internal struggle" (can you read JIHAD) which often involves terror attacks, extortion, intimidation, infiltration of the government, the schools, the legal system, and the public sector....and the final goal of the elimination of all that is not Muslim (can you read religions, people, cultures, and whole societies)
....this incident may seem ridiculous to some, but it is a part of the Islamic grand plan...your submission....You Must Submit.....

I am sick of these idiots wanting special threatment just because they are Muslims.
If they don't like the laws of their host country then they can rack off back to where they came from!
Imagine a westerner going to Saudi Arabia or some other Muslim country and not obeying the laws like veiling or driving and saying 'racism' if they don't allow them? (women can't drive in Saudi Arabia)
Time to expel these islamists.
