Anglican bishop under police protection after death threats from members of the Religion of Peace

Indeed, not only are there physical "no-go" areas, but so many areas of thought and discourse which are made hazardous territory by similar threats of violence. An update on this story. "British bishop says he faces threats after comments on Islamic extremism," from the Associated Press (thanks to all who sent this in):

LONDON - An Anglican bishop who said Islamic extremism is creating "no-go areas" for non-Muslims in Britain says he has received death threats, and a British news agency reported Saturday that he is being given police protection.
Rt. Rev. Michael Nazir-Ali, the bishop of Rochester, raised hackles among many within Britain's 1.6 million-strong Muslim community when he wrote in an editorial last month that extremism was making some Islamic areas inhospitable to their non-Muslims residents.
In a statement posted on his website Friday, the bishop said that "since my article appeared, threats have been made against the safety of my family and myself, and have had to be reported to the police."
Britain's Press Association news agency said the bishop was under police protection, without citing sources. Police said Saturday that they are aware of the situation, but have a policy that prevents them from commenting on matters of personal security.
In January, Nazir-Ali warned that Islamic extremism was turning "already separate communities into 'no-go' areas where adherence to this ideology has become a mark of acceptability."
"Those of a different faith or race may find it difficult to live or work there because of hostility to them," he wrote in his editorial in the Sunday Telegraph. "In many ways this is but the other side of the coin to far-right intimidation. Attempts have been made to impose an 'Islamic' character on certain areas," he said, including the use of loudspeakers on mosques for the call to prayer.
Although the editorial was warmly received by Britain's opposition Conservatives, the Muslim Council of Britain called his comments "alarming" and said he was playing into the hands of the country's far-right.
Nazir-Ali said on his website Friday that the comments were not meant as a reference to the so-called "no-go areas" of Northern Ireland, where police once feared to tread because of the strength of militant sentiment, but rather as a general point about segregation and the difficulty Christian workers faced in predominantly Muslim areas.
Nazir-Ali, a dual Pakistani-British citizen, has both a Christian and Muslim family background.

Congratulations to the muslims, they just proved the bishop points... just proved he was right ALL ALONG!

I could make the obligatory irony impairment comment, but they're winning. How stupid must WE be?

I must have missed the "far-right intimidation" which plagues the UK.

Ireland is not a great analogy for the 1,400 year expansion of Islam. I'd appreciate it if every... single... person... in the UK would stop acting like Ireland is on all fours with Islam conquering the world.

Another of those "if you say we are violent we will kill you moments."

And Rowan is boiling mad at the bishop because its upsetting his plans to kiss Islamic ass. Whats even odder he doesn't care that one of his bishops is getting death threats.

60 years ago Rowan would have been appeasing the Nazis and selling out Jews.

You mean Bishop Nazir Ali had not been under Islamic threats upto now? How did they miss him?

Posted by: Infidel Pride [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 3, 2008 1:59 AM

If the Archbishop of Canterbury does not express his fury at these threats, does not express total solidarity with Bishop Nazer-Ali, and continues to prate and to prance, he should be discharged.

What about a walk, by organized Anglicans, infuriated with his, Rowan Williams', behavior as Defender of the Faith -- that Faith being Islam of course, not Christianity, which for Rowan Williams is merely the biggest NGO of them all, ready to denounce Israel, America, and the West, at the drop of a cocked hat? Start the walk in Central London, and march right across the river to Lambeth Palace, and demand that he resign.

We had the March on Washington.

Now you can have the march to demand that Rowan Williams leave his post.

Call it the Lambeth Walk.

Above is my Lambeth Walk.

The other Lambeth Walk, the one from the 1930s, the dance step invented by Adele England, had nothing to do with Lambeth Palace. And for those of you who do not know anything about Adele England, I present here, as a public service, her only recorded dance lessons available on-line:

Now that you have mastered the step, we shall play the song again, this time with its lyrics:

''Nazir-Ali, a dual Pakistani-British citizen, has both a Christian and Muslim family background.''

Perhaps the 'Muslim half' of his family background made the death threats? F**king apostate! ;o)

Except that there aren't any no-go areas for Non-Muslims in Britain. That the threats are either minor incidents of social distress that arise in any and all multi-culturalist societies. All immigrant communities around thew have similar experiences. As someone who know's the UK very well, there are many areas that are real no-go areas for any non-whites, let alone Muslims. But the paranoia that causes this is given the credence that it deserves.

And to construe the presence of Muslims as an Islamic presence is the same as saying that a Christian communities presence is the Churches presence.. that's farcical and mis-representaive of the society.

Last year the report of the failed London club bombing led the BBC 9 o'clock News on Saturday but was dropped an hour later for a previously unheard story about a British Army sergeant charged with killing an Iraqi. An hour later came the attempted bombing of Glasgow airport and there was no hiding that story behind anything so the attempted bombings were number one again and they forgot about the sergeant.

Now this story has been dropped from BBC radio news this morning because they are leading on the case of a Muslim MP who claims he was bugged by MI5 while interviewing a constituent. The constituent in question was also personal friend and the interview took place in prison where he is fighting extradition to the US on terror charges.

The alleged bugging happened weeks ago so it is strange it should come out just now. The the BS Broadcasting Corporation can't have been keeping it on the shelf for just such an occasion! Can they?

"And to construe the presence of Muslims as an Islamic presence is the same as saying that a Christian communities presence is the Churches presence.. that's farcical and mis-representaive of the society."

Not at all because Christianity and Islam are very different entities, Christians will quite happily accept and engage with non Christians.

One religions holy book tells them to treat everyone fairly and equally, to tolerate others and help anyone who needs it. To try and convert people only through reason, faith and genuine communication.

The others tells its followers to lie, break agreements, persecute, terrorise and convert by force. It teaches that other religions should be forcibly wiped out and if they agree to live in their areas they must conform to certain rules and pay a special tax.

Therefore one religion creates no go areas by way of its very presence because its holy book demands such action.

Hugh

I do most strongly support your suggestion that English Anglicans (backed up, perhaps, by concerned Christians of other persuasions, and even by non-Christians who agree with Bp Nazir-Ali's concerns about Islam) will undertake a 'Lambeth Walk' to demand that the Archbishop of Canterbury - who represents not only Anglicans in England, but the entire worldwide Anglican communion - should resign, unless he is prepared to stick up for those among his bishops who by truth-telling have incurred the fury of Islam: - chiefly Nazir-Ali at the moment, but also Bp Patrick Sookhdeo, and Bishop Reade (who backed up Nazir-Ali when he made his initial statement).

The Archbishop should be reminded, too, of all those pious Anglican Christians - black Anglicans in Nigeria, in the Sudan, 'South Asian' Anglicans in Pakistan and Bangladesh and Malaysia, who have been suffering terrible persecution at the hands of Muslims. He must not betray them. He does them no good by allowing them to be used as hostages. I suspect that in fact, were the Archbishop to take a stronger stand, and not allow himself to be bullied or bamboozled by Muslims in Britain, the situation of those persecuted Christians might well improve.

People here who would like to send Bp Nazir-Ali a message of encouragement should visit the following site -

http://www.rochester.anglican.org/

and use their intelligence to navigate to a point from which they may contact him.

Furthermore: Christian visitors and posters, those who will begin observing Lent this Thursday, might consider a Lenten donation to Bishop Patrick Sookhdeo's Barnabas Fund charity, which provides advocacy, physical help and pastoral care for persecuted Christians in Muslim-dominated lands.

Pray fervently for a renewal of courage and vision within all the churches in Britain, and that they may be - swiftly, and completely - undeceived about Islam.

To all the Brits who post here WHAT are you doing to save it?

Do you make people aware what is going on?

Do you write to your MP's / leaders of political parties to express your displeasure?

Would you change your voting intentions until things change?

These things only happen in the West becuae we accept them, or by our silence appear to do so.

Ghulam

I could fill several pages telling you that you do not know the UK at all but I'll settle for one story.

About seven years ago the BBC headlined that the police chief of Oldham in Lancashire had expressed concern that Muslim youths were setting up no-go areas in the town. I thought at the time that he would never have made such a statement without getting top-level political clearance first and that it had been given was a sign that at last somebody was going to tackle the problem.

To the best of my knowledge of what he actually said was not published in Britain and I picked it up via the web from the Times of India. This was,

“Whites are being beaten so badly and so frequently it is only a matter of time before one of them is killed.”

There were two other reports from Asian newspapers at the time which are of interest.

One was a letter from a reader asking “How could the police expect co-operation from the Asian community even in serious cases like the beating up of a policeman if they came into Asian areas mob-handed? The implication of this statement will not be lost on many people and the writer does not understand that he has answered his own question.

The second report was the headline of the local English language “Asian News” which stated that a cheering meeting at the community centre had demanded the dismissal of the police superintendent.

A former policeman who knew the district later told me that the superintendent did not have political clearance. He was a straight talking honest officer of the non PC school who had gone out on his own to speak the truth. So he was not fired, he was “retired”.

Guess what? Some months later a 17 year old white lad was killed by “Asians” - but that's another story.

Ghulam,

So you know the UK very well, do you?
I am a British great-grandmother, forced to move home four years ago because of the intimidating presence of muslims, who decided that my area should be for the sole use of their cult members.

There are many such areas in the UK.
The Bishop of Rochester has been a voice for those of us who have no voice. Those of us who are counted as of no consequence.
Our 'leaders' have opened the henhouse doors and invited the foxes in.
May the God of Israel forgive them, for I cannot!

Question.

How do muslims recognise non muslims?

Surely this must be based on family, clan, race and culture?

A community where everyone knows everyone, as in the case of Northern Ireland and the sectarian/religious civil war there.

Posted by: leonthepigfarmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 3, 2008 11:01 AM

"We had the March on Washington."

We, the West, haven't had a Goddamned march anywhere about Islam. Not one.

The organized demonstrations that have taken place, here and there which one could count on the fingers of a Muslim thief's left hand (New York City, Brussels) -- and still leave a finger or two to spare to pick one's nose -- have been pitifully, pathetically small.

Now why is that? Could that be because most people outside of the Jihad Watch halls are not, in fact, Jihadwatchers?

it's called complacency. The people of the US will act once there's;

A) another terror attack

B) gas prices go higher and they can't afford to drive the 1 or 2 miles to the local mall in their suv/dodge truck

C )sharia law starts encroaching into American football

D) Coca Cola introduces a halal version of coke.

E) The whopper is discontinued by sharia law

Posted by: leonthepigfarmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 3, 2008 12:31 PM

leon, I think it's more than complacency. There is, in addition, a positive ideological component here, PC multiculturalism. It causes most people to psychologically resist connecting the dots from "small extremist groups who are trying to hijack Islam". . . to Islam itself (and by extension the vast majority of Muslims). (Some of them may, deep down, have intimations that Islam must obviously be a dangerous and metastatic problem, but a higher fear than the fear of Islam inhibits them -- they are afraid of themselves, they are afraid of their own white Western culture that in their minds will, once the lid is taken off and we can willy-nilly criticize and even condemn Islam, suddenly slide down that slippery slope to genocide and start mass-murdering precious brown and black and yellow people.)

This is why do so many Westerners resist connecting the dots to Islam itself: because the vast majority of Muslims are "people of color" of Third World provenance & culture. And the Western psyche for at least 50 years (with roots going back another 100) has been deeply ingrained with the strict commandment never to criticize non-Western non-whites, never to say anything negative about their precious cultures, and always to be on guard against its own white propensity to commit "genocide" against precious non-whites.

This irrational mindset is not going to easily collapse with one more attack. (And it's certainly not going to evaporate by simply repeating the naively simplistic -- albeit perfectly accurate -- mantra that "Islam is not a race".) It's going to take, I fear, several more attacks, with casualties in the millions. That's how irrational, that's how ingrained, that's how dominant, that's how mainstream it is.

I am afraid information control particularly in the UK is total and any criticism of our rich diverse multicultural society is racist and therefore illegal. Journalists who do not hold this line in the MSM get fired and local papers publishing politically embarrassing stories are threatened with closure by "anti-racist" groups.

Unless you actually live in or near a Muslim area or work inside the Government's system you have no way of knowing what is going on and anyone working inside the Government system whose speaks out is instantly fired. An executive working for a government funded agency wrote an article critical of Islam in the right wing and entirely respectable Daily Telegraph. Although he used an assumed name and mainly pointed out that every country that is now Moslem was once Christian he was identified and to the gloating satisfaction of “Muslim News” he was fired.

"Would you change your voting intentions until things change?"

I will be, disgusting as it is to vote BNP for me I am considering this as all other parties are giving into Islamic demands.

You cannot say anything against Islam however innocent (and true) without being labelled a racist Islamophobe.

The truth is no one dares to criticise Islam because whenever one does so publically you are immediately threatened with death, and of course then we get told it is just a few die hard fanatics threatening these people.

I am British and truth is that my country is rapidly escelating into become a muslim dominated country where Muslims are the preferred citisens and that is not right.

Posted by: somerandomdude [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 3, 2008 2:06 PM

Now, will the editor of above paper condemn these death threats against the bishop in his next press release? Or does the paper indirectly encourage them?

.

Posted by: Infidel419 [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 3, 2008 2:06 PM

I sent the Bishop of Rochester a rousing letter of encouragement.

Everyone else here should do the same.

A further idea (this one is primarily addressed to Christians).

Christians in the UK could google 'Global March for Jesus' and look under 'organisers' guidelines'.

They also mention something called 'prayerwalking' which can be done by smaller parties or individually.

http://www.gmfj.org/pages/og_e.htm

I really, really recommend this as a first step to ALL Christians, in ANY non-Muslim land, who are worried about Mohammedan colonies in their immediate neighbourhood.

(Personally, I would advise small groups who embark on this, to pray for divine protection not only over themselves, but over all other non-Muslim groups and institutions in the particular district they intend to cover - ask God to show you which ones are most vulnerable - e.g. a Jewish synagogue or cemetery, and yes, even a Buddhist or Hindu meeting place, and also, what practical ways you can show love and solidarity to your fellow non-Muslims).

In the recent past - 1990s and 2000, and yes, in European cities, even - these 'Marches for Jesus' *have* garnered huge crowds.

Rather than trying to organise a march 'against' Islam or sharia, see how many non-Muslims you can attract for an event with a positive focus: a march/ fiesta that publicly, noisily celebrates non-Muslim culture, faith/s and society. Priests - how about an open-air mass, like John Paul II used to do?

Tomorrow is Mardi Gras. That would have been a perfect excuse for an all-stops-pulled-out Infidel extravaganza, reclaiming the streets of every town and city in Europe.

But there's still time to organise something BIG for Easter Sunday.

May Day, too - claim it back from the socialists - think Maypoles, Morris dancers, Queen of the May, going 'maying', poems by Herrick, and the May Day hymn at the top of Magdalen Tower.

Remember that ALL such public demonstrations and exhibitions of non-Muslim beliefs, customs and practices are strictly forbidden under Sharia law. So by engaging in them, you are already showing that you are NOT dhimmis.

Just make sure you have reams of suitable leaflets - explaining why and how what you're doing, is anathema to Islam, and strictly forbidden by the 'rules for dhimmis' - to hand out to all your non-Muslim participants and any non-Muslim spectators you attract.

French Catholics, Spaniards, Germans - make a list of Saints' Days and plan something to celebrate each one. Perhaps a mass gathering to reclaim the holy ground of the chapel of St Denis and outnumber, overwhelm, and remove, those aggressive muslim loiterers who have been hanging around the site and bothering the pilgrims and tourists?

Start from churches, cathedrals, synagogues and town halls or piazzas, and work outwards.

If conducting a civil or religious procession, I suggest that for added Muslim-deterrent value everyone who has a good big dog (well-trained, of course), especially a black one, brings it along.

"Anglican bishop under police protection after death threats from members of the Religion of Peace"

I'm way beyond caring. Really. The irony. The bullshit. We, the West, really deserve it. Really, we do. Perhaps it's time for China and India, etc to take over. I don't know what it's like there but it can NOT be worse than the UK.

Really, the end began when the UK Govt bowed to Muslim demands with regards to Salman Rushdie. Crowds of inbred Islamists in Bradford and elsewhere, burning effigies: all men of course, as they're a bunch of wootahs: calling for the murder of a writer who they'd never read;

They'd never read him because they are a bunch of violent, pig ignorant, village idiotesque, illiterate, misogynist, inbred homos: Just like Muhammed really.

Muslim branch of "Village People Fan Club" demonstrate against Salmon.

We're talking good Muslims

The Satanic Verses was the classic seminal moment folks. Really, you get it everywhere. In my Maths seminars you were taught that at particular times the smallest fluctuation will have the hugest of effects, far outstripping the original cause, whereas at other times, when it's all so stable, it's all but impossible to change the future.

Well, the Salaman Rushdie event was a classic whimp out by the Infidels. A classic seminal moment.

FCUK. How effin' difficult is it to screw it up so easily, so often and with such professionalism?

Really?

Bush the Inbred did it with his post 911 speech. Letting Bin Ladens family fly out of the US. Wonderfully funny. Hey, Schmcuks, if you don't care about your country, then why oh why should anyone treat you with even the slightest of respect?

And those Neo Cons and Neo Libs who've never but ever given the slightest crap about anything except their misearable lives. A cast of loons that a Hammer House of Horrors wouldn't touch.

One of the most beautiful pieces of recent history have been

a) Russia's success in Chechnya
b) The Bosnian Serbs success at survival

when the Neo Cons/Libs were in cahoots with Bin Laden, as were more than a few lizardoids too.

They say the History repeats itself. Maybe. But I like to think that, in history, you get to see one of the few few times when the saying "What goes round, comes round"

Boy, considering that the US and UK supported Bin Laden in both Chechnya and Bosnia and Kosovo, that's certainly true.

Hey, New Yorkers -911-and Londoners-7 7-, how does it feel to be on Al Qaeda's receiving end?
