Of course, helping the KLA was all the rage at one time, with the usual short-sightedness and Fantasy-Based Analysis that generally prevails in Washington. We can only hope that if McCain is elected (and I still rather suspect that the Clinton Machine will prevail over all obstacles and win the big prize, although I'd be just fine with being proven wrong), this is one of those things he wouldn't do again.
Why? D Martyr explains at Al Salibiyyah: "The KLA - The Kosovo Liberation Army - is an Islamic terrorist group responsible for beheadings, torture, rape, burning down churches filled with Christians, and other atrocities. To this day, the KLA insurgency continues the systematic persecution and genocidal cleansing of Serbian civilians residing in Albania. The former leaders, enjoying life as high paid politicians in the Albania Government, are unapologetic for the crimes committed."
From Svet (thanks to D Martyr):
"He did everything that we asked of him, including arming the KLA", said Albanian lobbyist Joe DioGuardi. The Albanians collected one million dollars for the presidential campaign of this senator.Americans of Albanian heritage collected a million dollars in one evening for the presidential campaign of Republican Senator John McCain, said the Albanian American Civic League yesterday, the lobby group headed by former Congressman Joe DioGuardi. A reception for McCain was held January 22 at the Saint Regis Hotel in Manhatten, and the senator, who is now leading in the runoff for the Republican party candidacy in the November elections, cut his campaign in Florida by one day to attend this gathering.
"Even in 1998 when we had problems with Milosevic, McCain did everything that we asked of him to the benefit of the Albanian people, including arming the KLA", announced DioGuardi. "We are American Albanians and we need a leader who will strengthen this country... We must support John McCain because he did everything we asked of him for Kosovo, from supporting the Kosovo Liberation Army to supporting the independence of Kosovo. Two years ago he spoke in Brussels and said that independence is the only solution", concluded this former congressman who has been fighting for the independence of Kosovo and Metohija for more than twenty years.
He explained that the first thing McCain said to him when he entered the hotel in Manhatten on January 22: "Joe, I saw your people in Michigan, and in South Carolina and in New Hampshire", from which this lobbyist deduced that all Americans of Albanian background will be voting for the senator from Arizona....

Why am I not surprised? The McCain platform - 1. Keep the borders open so that terrorists can have easy access. 2. Expend American lives and treasure for the next hundred years to keep Sunnis and Shiites from killing each other. 3. Take out any government that dares stand in the way of Muslim expansion.
We need a third party. Tom Tancredo, please step up to the plate.

Oh God I didn't need to read this article! I am having a hard enough time with the thought of voting for him so neither Hillary nor Obama get elected. With this news I think that I am just going to have to barf - yes, get physically sick.
I just hope the VP that he picks is a better person than he is and then hope for the best. No, I am not saying that I wish he dies - I just hope that he has someone to whisper in his ears.
Geez, this is cruddy news.

I'm with you guys.
This is a really bad situation we find ourselves in.
It makes me mad that we don't get to select the best candidate, we have to take who Iowa and New Hampshire decide to elect. We need a series of general primaries.
McCain wants to give terrorists access to US courts.
Hillary's closest adviser is a muslimah.
Obama, if not a stealth moslem, is a white-hating far-leftist.

Rumor is that he wants Condi Rice or Colin Powell as his second. Just disappointment on disappointment.

Doesn't matter because McCain is not going to win. It will be Obama or Hillary. I can no longer find people to bet me even money on McCain winning :(
Even Rush, Hannity, Ann Coulter etc. are against McKennedy.
McCain is Bush^2...If you liked Bush, you'll love McCain.

This is exactly one of the myriad reasons that JW'ers should not even consider voting for Jihad McCain. Don't listen to members of the Republican Guard who tell you to fall in line for party unity. McCain's claims of being the top Jihad fighter notwithstanding, he is a Jihadi in Kosovo.
We made our mistakes in the 90s in Kosovo. Let's see whether Barack has the same plans. Regardless, if Barack tries doing the same thing, there is a possibility that Congressional Republicans will oppose him. If McCain does it, not only will there be no such opposition - it's also doubtful that Congressional Dems will stop him.

The Bible's term for a man such as John McCain is an "antichrist". The term describes someone either who preaches a false gospel or helps martyr Christians. McCain has done the latter. God help us if he becomes president.

"Rumor is that he wants Condi Rice or Colin Powell as his second. Just disappointment on disappointment."
This will make everybody happy. McCain doesn't want to budge on his "moderate" principles to appease those "damned loud folks". Therefore he needs someone who can appeal to the left to make up for it. Queen Hillary who is about to be dethroned by Hussein really really wants to be president - its her entitlement. The obvious solution is for McCain to choose her as his running mate. He's old and might not make it through his first term. In any event he won't run for a second term and she can then assume the mantle. After all both the Bushes and McCain have been full of high praise for both Clintons. And McCain has always been the liberal MSM's favorite Republican. It's a match made in heaven - or in some other place. After McCain's term is up who will nominate Hillary? Why both parties, of course. We can put an end to the distinction between the Slow-death and the Fast-death parties and unite them into one Death Party.

It doesn't matter who you guys vote in, Kosovo is done and it's the US' fault. The wheels went into motion a long time ago and there's no one left in power who has the intelligence and guts to do the right thing.
Kosovo independence will be the flash point for a much bigger conflict than there was in the early 90's; unfortunately the Serbs will be demonized once again and the Greater Albanian concept will be well on its way thanks to the USA.
I guess World Wars are destined to always be started in the Balkans, I just have my doubts that we will support the right side.

Someone, or some group, must go to McCain, or get to McCain, and that means going around such pollyannish surge-supporters as Frederick Kagan and Max Boot who fail to identify the Camp of Islam as the problem, and fail to see why dampening, rather than encouraging or at least doing nothing to discourage – the pre-existing fissures (sectarian and ethinc) in Iraq is the only policy that makes sense, if the goal is not to establish a Light-Unto-the-Muslim-Nations. And that Light-Unto-the Muslim Nations goal is not attainable. It is naïve to think that any Muslim Arab nation would be comforted, when they are all run by, and largely populated by, Sunni Arabs. For why would Sunni Arabs take as a model an Iraq that, for the first time in its modern history, was in the hands of the Shi’a Arabs, and not its natural rulers, as Sunni Arabs see it, that is, the Sunni Arabs who regard themselves as the chief losers from the removal of Saddam Hussein.
If McCain continues in this vein he will not have a chance to be President. And if he has no chance, he should be told, then those who not only are opposed to the war in Iraq, but those who are opposed to the war in Iraq for all the wrong reasons, and who would offer not a less sentimental and ruthless policy to divide and demoralize the recognized enemy -- the Camp of Islam -- but who would also limit beyond reason all reasonable attempts at domestic surveillance, and not only among those who oppose the war for all the wrong reasons, but also by those who support domestic surveillance and even, attack (from the air) Natanz , ) as he keeps defending the war in Iraq, keeps misunderstanding the need to clearly see that war as merely one theatre in a much larger war, continues to ignore the instruments of Jihad that are most effective – Da’wa, the Money Weapon, demographic conquest – which he seems, like so many others in the Republican Party, intent on “supporting the President” or in “avoiding defeat” in Iraq (but the removal of American forces would not be a defeat, but rather an intelligent act of ruthless calculation, and would do a great deal to upset Muslims, including those in both Iran and Saudi Arabia, the two most malevolent and powerful Muslim countries, in supporting the Jihad to spread Islam, and to ensure its dominance.

"Rumor is that he wants Condi Rice or Colin Powell as his second."
-- from a posting above
Condoleezza Rice, who believes devoutly that the "Palestinians" are akin to American blacks mistreated in the south, rather than being the descendants, in most cases, of quite recent arrivals to Mandatory Palestine, with an entirely fictive history (folklore, folksongs, the works --it's all been part of the "construction-of-a-Palestinian-identity" boys, getting paid time-and-a-half for overtime)? The one who thinks it is an important goal of American foreign policy to create a "Palestinian state"? The one who knows nothing, has learned nothing, has not even tried to learn something, not before the 9/11/2001 attacks, and not in the more than six years since those attacks, about Islam, and who, both as National Security Adviser (where she clearly has mislead -- or should one say lied -- about her dismissal of warnings and leads) and as Secretary of State, has simply continued the mixture as before, believing that one can deal with the MIddle East, and Pakistan, and Afghanistan, and what is happening right smack in Europe (perhaps she doesn't care quite as much about what happens in Western Europe as some do), without examining the texts, tenets, attitudes, atmospherics of Islam. Is it that Condolleezza Rice he is said to be considering, or is there another person, by the same name, not quite as ignorant about the things that matter most, and not quite as uriah-heepishly willing to go along with an ill-thought-out and senseless policy?
As for Colin Powell, good grave rectitudinous Colin Powell, he apparently learned everything he had to know not in kindergarten, but on the tennis courts with his good friend Prince Bandar, the man who gave Colin Powell's wife a Jaguar.
I know what you are about to say: It was only a used one.
Well, that's okay then.

Question:
Is anyone in the US gov. reaching out to Russia over our shared interests, namely the war against Islamism/Islamofascism/Islamic extremis/whatever you want to call the violent and political-oriented movement that, convincingly to many Muslims, cites traditional Islamic theology and religious texts?
If not, why not? For all that Russia is becoming more authoritarian, they don't kill people for changing their religion, they don't fly planes into our buildings, they don't criminalize women for going out w/o headscarves and male relatives, and they don't blather about wiping Israel off the map, or about taking over the world.
Are there any grown-ups in Washington who can make such big picture comparisons? Or is everyone there with power (Rice, for one) still in Cold War mode, incapable of thinking beyond what they were taught at university?

I'm going to put it very bluntly. All three of them - McCain, Hussein, and Billary - are criminals and traitors. They all deserve to be prosecuted for more crimes than I could possibly have time to list here or anywhere else.
The one thing that could save this country is to have all three of them in orange jumpsuits. We need to see that done and we need to keep making enough noise to get it done, whether the powers that be like it or not.
Treason is a capital offense, and all three of them - and everyone associated with any of the three - deserve exactly what that implies. But I don't see the political will for this anytime soon.
Not yet, anyway.
But some of us are watching, paying attention, remembering...

McCain is trouble now, just as would have been in WW2. This "leader" has the ability to turn a victory in WW2, into a vision on how he would have stopped Germany ,just as they started to expand their empire. What he said about that war then should scare anybody that knows what Germany would have done in responce, it's all in the captured documents.
We would all be talking German.
Thanks to this "leader".
McCain is Trouble, his record should be enough to know that. The brave should dig a bit deeper to really "feel the fear".

( Due to my inability to press the appropriate buttons at the right time, I somehow managed to post a the last bit of this on a completely different thread. )
The extent to which the Serbs were vilified both in the MSM and from senior politicians on both sides of the Atlantic can only be understood, when the same adjectives, etc are applied to the victims of Al Qaeda violence. for example, if the same vocabulary were used about, say, 9 11, London, Madrid, etc.
Remember that the Serbs, both in Kosovo and ( with the Croats for a short time in ) Bosnia, were fighting the Jihadists. 1,000s of Mujahideen who were equipped by the Iranians, amongst others were the victims of horrific crimes by these MB groups.
Yet, the crude propaganda war waged against the Serbs was of tsunami sized proportions. Relentless and repetitive lies from TV, newspapers to a public that for the most part had absolutely no idea of the history, the people, the culture of this area.
For example, William Crystal, a very prominent Neo Con, proudly anounced that some Serb skulls should be smashed. He and his fellow panelists on the US program, "This Week with David Brinkley", were exultant, positively beaming, when the US finally admitted that they'd worked with the Iranians on arming several 1,000 Mujahideen. Cargo planes from Saudi and Iran, etc would fly, untouched into the Balkans, delivering their deadly cargo to Bin Laden. This, it seems, is nothing more than a chucklesome mirth making stunt. A giggle.
"Gee, we helped arm Bin Laden. Woooooooeeeeeeee!"
Imagine the same light hearted tone about the arming of the terrorists in 9 11. Can you imagine it?
Claire Short, the UK minister, called the Serbs "bastards" and said that those who supported Serbia were no different from the Hitler supporters/appeasers.
A year after NATO war, Lord Robertson held a self congratulatory party in Racak, with a gaggle of dancing KLA terrorists in tow and with red nose to boot. Now there had been a massacre in the small village but not the one widely reported about in the press. A couple of days prior to the widely publicised so called "massacre", a Serb police convoy had been ambushed by Islamist terrorists, the Serb policemen - who were both ethnic Albanian and ethnic Serb. Yugo police patrols were nearly ALWAYS of mixed ethnicity, Rom, Serb, Albanian, Macedonian, Turk, etc - were brutally slain.
So, NATO openly celebrates the anniversary of a terror outrage. No. Strike that, they openly celebrate an Islamist terror outrage against Infidels.
NATO countries pay the pensions of KLA terrorists. They let vile terror attacks on infidels go unpunished and in fact reward the Islamist murerers.
Despite the KLA being routed during the air campaign, NATO continued to mock the Serbs for being unable to protect the 100,000's of refugees who fled further into Kosovo. 1,000's more perished with NATO/KLA refusing to help.
Articles in oh-so serious newspapers had headlines like "Serbs 'Em Right"
Geddit?
Imagine the same headlines about the victims of 9 11 or London. The same shrug of the shoulders, the same "you had it comin', so why are you complaining?"
Now imagine the exact same attitude to, say, 9 11 or London, 7 7. i.e. simply substitute "Serbs" for "New Yorkers" or "Londoners". Imagine the absolute, justifed, outcry.
"So the Mujahideen have murdered 1,000s of infidels in Serbia ( strike that, New York )? So what, we think it's hilarious. Really we do, we've just said so on a TV talkshow. In fact we fully supported the decision of the US government to fund and train the Mujahideen who've been slaughtering countless Serbs ( whoops, New Yorkers ). We really do think that Serbs ( sorry, New Yorkers ) are bastards and that their skulls should be smashed too. And on every anniversary of that date we'll hold a great big celebration where we honour the Serb murdering ( cough, New York murdering ) terrorists. Oh, and we'll mock the inability of the Serb ( US ) authorities to help the countless victims of the terror attack and we'll publish articles pointing out how the victims deserved it all. Oh, and we'll rub their noses in it by paying the salaries of the Serb murdering ( oh dear, New York murdering )terrorists too. HA HA HA HA. Oh, and by the way, if anyone does not agree with us, we'll accuse you of being no better that Hitler apologists"
See?

The great Julia Gorin says it far more succinctly on her wonderful blog.
"Know this: There is zero difference between the 1999 redux we’re about to witness and U.S./NATO engaging Israel by force in order to hand all of the West Bank and east Jerusalem to the Palestinians under Hamas."

The NATO/KLA organisation was marked by
a) Incompetence. After round the clock bombing for almost three months, NATO managed to destroy/damage 13 tanks.
13 destroyed or damaged.
b) Sadness
The Kosovo bombing was in some ways the highwater mark for NATO - Muslim Brotherhood collaboration.
Now they're at each others throats battling over a bit of scrub land in the Hindu Kush.
Friends falling out. Brings tears to the eyes.

When the Albanian refugees were streaming over the border, they gave accounts of their experiences to many NGOs.
Now this is funny, but many of these refugees multiple statements were word for word - and I mean every word was the same - identical as they gave accounts of what they'd seen.
Imagine it, the chaos on the border, 10s of 1,000s of people, all in a state of flux, yet, when interviewed, you give the EXACT same account of what you'd experienced and witnessed in your many interviews.
WORD FOR WORD
( This came to light in the Sandra Mitchell witness testimony in the Milutinović trial at the ICTY )
Nope, nothing suspicious there, move along chaps.
The West fell for the cheesiest, lamest plotline, a story so weak your crappiest B movie director wouldn't touch it. We did though, chumps that we are.

Kosovo declares independence.
The people who are laughing are (in no particular order )
a) Bin Laden. Albanian SHIK Intel chief, Fatos Klosi( sp ) spoke of Bin Laden being in Kosovo and northern Albania in 98 to help organise the 100's of Mujahideen there.
b) Paedophiles. The Kosovo Albanians are World leaders in the under age sex slave market.
c) RIRA. The KLA were recently caught trying to sell SEMTEX, anti tank mines, shoulder launched anti aircraft missiles and enough ammo for a small army to this terror group. Point The REAL IRA are so extreme the IRA, Sinn Fein, et al refuse to touch them.
d) Neo NAZIs. A large section of the KLA, based around their strongholds in central Kosovo, are heirs to the noble Skenderbeg SS Division. This particular SS unit helped guard the trains that took Jews, Slavs, Rom, to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.
e)MAOISTS. The leader of Kosovo, Thaqi, is a Maoist. Think North Korea. Think mass murder. Think Pol Pot. Think lunacy. You'll get the picture.
f) Anti Semetites. The entire Jewish population was torched out of their homes en masse in the days following the withdrawl of Serb forces.
g)Heroin Dealers. The KLA control most of the heroin coming into Europe. Now they have their little own country. A safe base. Untouchable. Ain't that sweet.
h)Racists. Under Belgrade rule, all the many myriad ethnic groups were respected: Turks, Rom, Macedonians, Circassians, Egyptians, Goranis, Montenegrins, etc. Now, all the minorities are dog meat.
So, there we have it. The scum of the Earth can rejoice.

Okay, guys and gals, the next time there's an Islamist terror outrage in a Western country that supports this illegal declaration of independence (US, UK, etc ) , how much sympathy should we, gallantly noble and nobly gallant Westerners, expect from anyone living in Serbia?
