More important than the specific demand is the fact of the demand: foreign Muslim students, many of them apparently Saudis, coming to Australia, their presence an admission that despite the trillions of dollars Saudi Arabia has received since 1973 alone, its students have to go to the United States, have to go to Australia, have to go to Infidel lands and never other Muslim lands, to receive an education in something other than Islamic studies (which is the favorite subject of Saudi students -- they just can't get enough of it), nonetheless feel sure enough of themselves as to demand a change in course schedules, in regular, secular, Australian universities, to accommodate the Muslim schedule of five canonical daily prayers.

What should be happening is this: those Muslim students should have it impressed upon them that the government and people of Australia, the universities and students of Australia (as of the United States, as of every other Infidel country that allows Muslim students to take advantage of what they offer) should thank their lucky stars, should be enormously grateful, to have the deficencies of their own countries, societies, even families, suffused in Islam, remedied by the chance to breathe in the mental freedom that the Infidel world, the advanced world, the Western world, offers them -- its advances and its freedoms the result of the fact that our history is not, thank god, that of Islam, for nothing that makes the West the West (at its best), not its art, not the development of the enterprise of science, not its political liberties centered on solicitude for the individual, none of this could have developed in lands subjugated to Islam, and with inhabitants mentally submissive to Islam.

They should be made, in ways obvious and also oblique, to the fact that we think they should be grateful, and we do not share their view of themselves as the "best of peoples" who have a right to demand changes in our ways, and to appear chagrinned, or still worse, outraged, when their demands are not met. They long ago outstayed their welcome. The only reason for tolerating their presence is money, and even there, the sums asked of them are insufficient to make up for the disruption their presence, their behavior, their diluting of academic standards, the corruption they bring with them to campuses(on the BBC the other night, a Moroccan student cheerfuly told a Muslim interviewer for the BBC that because "we want our own women, Muslim girls, to stay pure" Muslim men "try to get sex from Western girls.")

Rich Muslim students in the West should not be prancing about, exploiting Western women (and that they regard it as exploitation is clear from the fact that they would never ever behave as they do with non-Muslim girls, whom they are quite prepared to "ruin" as they would never attempt with those they call "our own women," living in oil-fueled luxury, buying term papers, and doing all the other things that they are famous for doing, before getting a degree that, while largely meaningless from the viewpoint of education, does have value as a credential at home.

As for those who come, and do study, and what they study are such subjects as nuclear engineering, and chemistry, and biology, we have had enough experience with Dr. Germs and other British-educated Iraqi specialists in germ warfare, and with A. Q. Khan stealing nuclear secrets in Western labs, and with so many others who, in Iraq or Iran or Pakistan, learned what they needed to learn in Western universities and laboratories, that any conceivable benefit in making these people "aware of the Western way of life" is far outweighed by the dangers.

And rich, or poor, Arab and Muslim students in the West have shown themselves perfectly willing to exhibit the kind of violent behavior, in shouting down those of whom they disapprove -- see what happened at Concordia University, or at San Francisco State, or in other places, when those who try to present a pro-Israel talk, or an analysis of Islam that does not conform to the esposito-and-armstrong template -- that they think appropriate, just as they would, if they could, impose Muslim ideas on the limits of free speech all over Western Europe and North America, so as to spare the sensisibilities of Muslims offended by the Western exercise, in Western countries, of Western freedom of speech.

They should be constantly reminded that they are here, taking advantage of our educational system, and of our Western freedoms, even though we are aware that the Shari'a flatly contradicts Western legal and politicial institutions, but that patience, and tolerance, have a limit. And they should also be made aware that we in the West now can connect the dots, the dots that help us to realize that the political, economic, social, intellectual, and moral failures of Muslim states, societies, and peoples, are a result of Islam itself. This they will not accept, at first, but as Infidels show that they not only believe this, but are quite capable of spelling out that connection, and ready to do it on every conceivable occasion, this will put Muslim defenders and apologists on the defensive, which is exactly where they belong.

If they need special accomodations for being Muslem, they need to go to a Muslem university.

Oh, thats right... there are NO worthwhile accredited Muslem universities. Thats why they all flock to Western universities.

They hate our culture and society so much they want to destroy it. But they have nothing to replace it with.

Muslim students know perfectly well that prayer times change by a few minutes every day and that it would be logistically impossible to schedule classes accordingly.
Their aim is clearly to have their request denied so that they can claim discrimination.

Lets hope the australians have more conviction than the cowardly mammon worshipping english at Manchester University....

I am reliably told that in the '90s whilst Manchester University was busy ensuring it lost its non-conformist christian roots and marginalisted christianity on the alter of political correctness, it was busy serving mammon by putting a mosque in the basement of a building to keep malaysia happy.

malaysia has the apertheid policy of state paying for moslems to go to uni in the uk, but non moslems have to pay themslelves.

So, apparently while campus was politically correct, non religious, and diversity aware and so on, there was hate preaching coming from the basement with associated politically incorrect literature.

The solution is simple: all other students at the university need to immediately demand the right to be excused from all lectures, tutorials, labs, reading assignments, research projects, written assignments, and exams, on the basis of the fact that such things go against their religion (whatever it is) and are deeply offensive to their culture (ditto.) At the same time, they must insist on the right to high marks and degrees at the end of four years. Better yet, they should insist that the administration just hand over those degrees right now, so as not to waste any more of their valuable time. If they encounter any resistance, they should innundate the Australian Human Rights Commission (and I'm sure there is one) with complaints of religious discrimination.

Some students will do anything to avoid class.

Maybe the courses are too hard for muslim students and they need to pray to Allah for higher grades. Inquiring minds what to know...
