Are suffering unnecessarily or dying a premature, preventable death religious principles? If such rules are adopted, hospitals risk finding themselves dithering over ridiculous legal compliance while lives are at stake.
Sharia Alert. "Male doctors may not be allowed to treat female patients," from the Khaleej Times:
MANAMA — Male physicians and nurses can't treat female patients according to a parliamentary proposal approved on Tuesday by the parliament.
If the government backs the proposal, the Ministry of Health will be badly affected, especially with its shortage of medical teams.
The largest bloc in the parliament (Al Wefaq) tabled the proposal that was supported by majority of the house.
The proposal bans also female physicians from treating male patients and stresses that all manpower in the gynecology section should be females. The proposal forbids medical team from examining dead bodies of opposite sex.
"All manpower in the gynecology section should be females." Got that?

Such lofty principles should be encouraged throughout dar-ul-Islam, and even adapted in the West for Mohammedan patients. Shame on you, Marisol, for such an Islamophobic attitude towards the care and keeping of the best of peoples.
That way, whatever happens would be the will of Allah. And who are we to question him?
Other suggestion: no medical practices that are not in the Quran should be even allowed in such places, let alone adapted.

Equality for non and discrimination for all non Muslims. That is the fate of the world when you consider sharia. So much for the civil rights if that were to happen here in the United States. The Muslim males will be rewarded, because Allah wills it. Not over my dead body.

If Bahrain is again going to uphold Islamic principles then these hypocrites must also establish Al-Shurut al-Umariya, or Umar's conditions, the system of restrictions designed to shame and despoil non-Muslim subjects. All Christians, Jews, and others should be forced to relinquish their land, should be forced to pay a special "protection" tax (dhimma) OR FACE DEATH, and all Christians and Jews must once again wear distinctive clothing.

It is interesting how muslims following the directions of their allah always wind up on the side of evil, virtually on the devilish side of any issue. Christians go to hell for believing allah loved humanity and sent humans his son. Jews go to hell and are evil because they were instructed by allah to murder all the amalekites and did not do it. The Jews are forever cursed for not murdering without question those whom allah has commanded the Jews to murder!
Most "progressive" religions will relax its rules to safeguard human life because their God is compassionate and merciful. Orthodox jews will violate sabbath laws to ride in a car to take a sick person to the hospital. An orthodox Jewish person will research with pig parts to enhance human life and will consume medicines made of pig parts, if it protects or safeguard's life.
The muslim will not. Muslims sacrifice its own to allah's devilish will! While muslims claim that Jews and Christians have perverted allah's will, it is rather muslim religious doctrinal precepts that seem to be one big perversion itself!

As silly as this sounds, it might be feasible if Islam produced an abundance of well qualified female physicians, gynecologists, etc.
But, Islam tends to discourage female education. And, as we have seen, female moslem medical students are under extreme restrictions which prevent them from practicing normal expected medical hygiene and otherwise receive proper training.

Since most men don't bother to go to the doctors, most of their male doctors will have to emigrate.

How can muslim's claim to have been so advanced in science and medicine a thousand years ago when they can't even examine a dead body of the opposite gender?

You need to check out the story where some semi-governmental council in Bahrain wants to make it mandatory that all newly constructed high rise buildings be built with windows you can't see out of in order to prevent you pervs from seeing their daughters and wives. They phrase it as installing windows that let in sunlight and prevent seeing out. I've been asking about what or where these magic windows may be bought. We used to call them walls, but I'm not a member of an enlightened faith.

Well, it's quite obvious that despite Bahrain's immense wealth and phenomenal growth as an international banking center, money can't buy brains for retrograde fanatics. Nor does it hasten the evolutionary process; apes are still in control. The pious males who made this law deserve nothing less than to die in emergency rooms late at night when only a female physician is on duty, if there are any female physicians. They have effectively sentenced millions of women to death, more evidence of islam's compassion, love, and mercy.
Outward appearances can be quite deceptive. Bahrain is just another backwards, islamic gulf kingdom with a medieval ethos and the outward appearance of modernity and progress. If these people ever change, which is doubtful, it will take centuries for them to catch up with the civilized world.
I can't imagine why, but I strongly suspect that a large part of the "islamic" world will cease to exist during this century, maybe even this decade.

Im really confused. I think this decision directly conflicts with islamic practices.
How are women to replace the 'men' manpower in medical/gynecology when there are not allowed to study?
