A glimpse into the future -- and, in many areas, the present reality -- of Europe: polygamists living off the government dole, so that the demographic jihad proceeds at the expense of the government the jihadists hope to topple, and the taxpayers they hope to subjugate.
"'Polygamy doesn't work' says father of 77," by Aislinn Simpson for the Telegraph (thanks to Isabella the Crusader):
An Ethiopian man who has 77 children by 11 wives has urged others not to get married and has taken to dispensing advice on family planning to his neighbours.Ayattu Nure, 56, says he used to be a wealthy man and married out of a desire to share his money around but claims he is now peniless because of the competing demands of his brood.
"I want my children to be farmers but I have no land, I want them to go to school but I have no money," he says.
Seven of Mr Ayattu's wives live in run-down huts around the compound while the other four live on the other side of the valley in Giwe Abossa village, 300 kilometres from the capital Addis Ababa.
In total, they have given birth to more than 100 children but 23 have died.
Mr Ayattu says he tries to share his time equally between his wives and children but is at a loss to keep them happy and often cannot feed them all.
"I feel like killing myself when I see my hungry children whom I cannot help," he says.
"People see me as a funny man, but there is no fun in my condition. I am a desperate man struggling to survive," he says.
He blames Ethiopia's government for failing to support him and his children.
The local authority of the school which 40 of his children attend is requesting photographs of each one for their files but Mr Attayu says he has not got the money.
"I know I have done wrong by marrying many wives and begetting many children but I think I deserve help from the government."...

He still doesn't get it. He thinks HE deserves the support rather than THEY.

I guess the Brits are getting off easy - they're only supporting 2, 3 or 4 wives plus kiddies.
Coming soon to a neighbourhood near you.

And is son is unemployed and marrying again. Who is supporting him and them?
Some western country workers who are too busy to have their own children. Oxfam or Save the Children is out collecting now to help him already. Or help the children.
When is Africa going to start limiting the number of children to those they and their land can support? Everyone else has to.

-- from the article above
We understand. It's so hard, nowadays, to juggle work and family. Why, sometimes you begin to think that you can't have it all.

The demographic tsunami, encapsulated in a man.
We must send him aid now!
So that he can breed more jihadi juniors.
Otherwise we're all bigoted Islamophobes!
I'd send Norplant.

So in Islam there's no old saying that "Allah helps those who help themselves"?
Maybe he can persuade one of the Islamic charities to make an exception for him and send FOOD to Ethiopia's citizens instead of weapons to the Islamicists?

"I feel like killing myself when I see my hungry children whom I cannot help," he says.
Couldn't agree more with his sentiment, this child abuser.

I don't. Well, O.K., you're right. Here's the number for Adoption Services, Employment Services, and Planned Parenthood. Now, get lost.

Oh yeah, here's the number for the Public Defender's Office too. You're going to need some help for that polygamy charge.

“. . . to insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence . . .”
A people and its government, not willing to assume responsibility for ensuring domestic tranquility, not willing provide for the common defence against this social agression and the Jihadist (a.k.a. "criminal") agression that will result from uncontrolled and unvetted Islamic immigration, should glimpse into a far darker, but realistic future:
...so that the demographic jihad proceeds at the expense of the government the jihadists hope to topple, and the taxpayers they hope to subjugate.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
...and every taxpayer a Rifleman.
We will not submit.

Don't let this man, or any of his 11 wives or 77 children, into this country.
Being a father means more than popping out a kid. There's a bit more to it than that, actually, no matter what Allah says.

He must be a wise man.
It only took him 11 wives and 77 children to find out,,,

Kind of like the guy who keeps using his credit card and refinancing everything, even though he doesn't have any money.
Aren't you glad we have laws in the West against this sort of foolishness?
I REALLY HOPE that the politicians in America and other Western countries will WAKE UP and not recognige and legitimize what these scoundrels do if they happen to end up over here.
Any scoundrel found guilty of this should IMMEDIATELY be sent home, deported, him and his whole bunch. We should tell everyone, loud and clear, and in no uncertain terms, that we DO NOT accept this sort of thing.

I'm amazed at the tenor of the comments posted in response to this. Pictures of castration tools? Are you kidding me? Ceasing all UN aid? Are you serious? All in response to the actions of this one man whose own neighbours regard as foolish? It is not clear what threat this particular man poses to us, unless we're now playing the game of pre-emptive prejudice. Only this week in Austria Josef Fritzl was revealed to have perpetrated the most unconscionable crimes: imprisoning and raping his own daughter for more than 20 years. Yet I'm not aware that anyone has claimed that his behaviour is characteristic of Western culture - nor should they for that would be absurd.
The historian Kate Lowe said of stereotyping that it "does not allow differentiation between individuals within a category, thus leading to automatic and unthinking reactions." I would venture that this is precisely what we have here.
I am no apologist for Islam: I am a Christian who fully recognises the threat that Jihad poses to the whole non-Muslim world, not just to the West. This why I am so deeply disappointed by the risible comments posted above. Well done Dhimmi Watch for giving succour to some of our worst elements.

Institutionalizing polygamy-on-the-dole in the western democracies is ONE way to get the jizya tax going...

Marisol,
Although you were correct responding to "Vitamins" by deleting the original comment I made in haste that was, admittedly, in poor taste, and which led to several follow-up risible responses in equally poor taste, I hope you both recognize that these were really editorial comments reflecting disgust with the Islamic practice of polygamy, with its implied demographic effects. This man had 11 wives, for crying out loud, and 77 children! Is a graphic reference to what some think would be an appropriate penalty for this any more objectionable than equally graphic references to massive bombing of Islamic centers of jihad activity that are routinely published on this blog?

Now that I've cooled off a bit about this, there is an issue implied by the complaint of "Vitamins" that warrants further discussion, namely, where should the boundaries be for discussing the general problem of, and responses to, Islamic polygamy? I do appreciate the need to keep discussions civil, and not to descend to barnyard humor. Nevertheless, sometimes a well-placed zinger does a better job at making a point than any amount of abstract discussion.
Vitamins, while I respect your empathy for this man from a Christian perspective, surely you do recognize that he is emblematic of the entire problem of Islamic sanctioned polygamy? Approaching this from a policy perspective, as opposed to whether this particular man may or may not merit sympathy, how do you think the West should respond to the problem?

Thank you Marisol for your prompt action.
Eastview-
I was not motivated by 'empathy for this man from a Christian perspective', but by a sense of decency. I mentioned it only to establish my bona fides and to remind some folks that they cannot assume that everyone who visits Jihad Watch is of their ilk. I have much less faith in the efficacy of 'a well-placed zinger' (whatever that is) than you do, and I hardly consider my objection to references to castration etc to be 'abstract discussion'.
Yes, the demographic implications of polygamy are serious but this particular case occurred in Ethiopia where the government seems to be giving the man concerned short shrift. Yes, we need to strengthen and enforce our own existing laws against polygamy - without exception. But the West isn't going to win this fight alone: policy needs to extend to aiding our friends and allies abroad too. Ethiopia, one of the oldest Christian cultures in the world, is currently engaged on the front line in the fight against international Jihad. Kenya has a new premier who seems to have struck a concordat with Islamist tendencies in that once peaceful nation. These folks are our friends. Pictures of castration tools and smirking, borderline racist remarks (by others) in this context, bespeaks a poverty of vision and human decency.

Vitamins,
Thank you for your thoughtful response. The problem of polygamy, which, after all is at the heart of this story, helps fuel the demographic expansion of Islam, is one that deserves more discussion than it has up to now.
A "zinger" refers to a one-liner, or a clever joke that cuts to the heart of an issue by employing analogies or visual imagery in such a way as to neatly encapsulate the essence of an issue. When used intelligently it can be a very effective debating tool, and one sees zingers routinely slung about on these pages. However, I agree that in this case it was inappropriate.
