Islamic supremacists killing singers, actors, and artists in Iraq

Their work is un-Islamic, you see. Imagine what fun Muslims who share this perspective could have once they gain control in Europe! "Iraqi artists and singers flee amid crackdown on forbidden culture," by Afif Sarhan and Caroline Davies in The Observer, May 11 (thanks to all who sent this in):

Iraqi singers, actors and artists are fleeing the country after dozens have been killed by Islamic radicals determined to eradicate all culture associated with the West.

Cinemas, art galleries, theatres, and concert halls are being destroyed in grenade and mortar attacks in Basra and Baghdad.

According to the Iraqi Artists' Association, at least 115 singers and 65 actors have been killed since the US-led invasion, as well as 60 painters. But the terror campaign has escalated in recent months as both Shia and Sunni extremists grow ever bolder in enforcing religious restrictions on the citizens of Iraq....

In November Seif Yehia, 23, was beheaded for singing western songs at weddings, and painter Ibraheem Sadoon was shot dead as he drove through Baghdad. In February Sunni fighters killed Waleed Dahi, 27, a young actor, while he rehearsed for a play due to open at the Jordanian National Theatre this month.

Culture was encouraged during Saddam Hussein's regime, but no longer. Abu Nur, an Islamic Army spokesman, said: 'Acting, theatre and television encourage bad behaviour and irreligious attitudes. They promote customs that affect the morality of our traditional society.'

As one who supported the invasion, it is moments like this that I'm forced into some honest introspection: "is the world really better off without Saddam?"

I firmly believe the answer lies in the outcome on the ground. Tragedies large and small may well be deemed by the verdict of history to have been worth the price of freedom (or even a semblance of it). Or perhaps the eventual ascendancy of an all-encompassing religious fascism in Iraq will render the memory of Saddam's secular fascism as comparatively civilized.

But who will paint the pictures of the martyrs? And who will sing their praises?

Sad that the things that make life in this world pleasant, that a god gave the ability to create, is always stamped out by islam. They love death and try hard to make those alive feel dead.

Maybe this news will give the left wing dhimmis in Hollywood pause. You know, the ones who think muslims are just moms and dads like us.

Posted by: ImNoDhimmi [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2008 9:02 AM

I wonder if the Hollywood liberal elite are counting these murders under the "Killed because of Americans" or "Killed because of Insurgents" categories? (I know what my gut tells me ... and the title of Anne Coulter's new book says it all.)

I'm not about to let myself or my husband be blamed for some Muslim psycho thug murdering one of his own because "Allah told him to" ... this has nothing to do with America whatsoever.

Imagine what fun Muslims who share this perspective could have once they gain control in Europe!

Religion of Peace do it’s best to fend of Islamophobia in Britain:
Radical Islam Over Runs London Streets

Maybe the Iraqi artists should learn from European artists who know how to exercise self censorship and wouldn’t touch anything that might in any way offend the Religion of Peace and if something would slip trough it will immediately be shout down and the establishment would roll in the dirt and apologize for there reckless Islamophobia and meekly ask how else they could repent.

Doesn’t the Iraqi artist understand that there is limits on freedom, singing western songs at weddings, how utterly senseless and offending. Haven’t they heard about the UN HRC edict that Islamophobia is a offense?

Havent heard a peep about these kilings in the media. Why is that. Wouldnt want to shed a bad light on islam now would we.

The Jihadi's only talent lies in terrorizing unarmed civilians usually in sneak attacks. They are not even known as capable warriors as they will almost always lose in a fair fight.I have a theory that that is why they are moved to attack and kill anyone who is different as those who are different particularly if they have talent expose the Jihadi and Islam's utter worthlessness. It's also the reason they hate the West. As advance Western societies stand as proof of Islams complete failure.

Englebrekt,

I notice one of the "men" in the video ranting "how dare you put your hands on a Muslim" to the police after condemning the "kafir" from the safety of his car through his microphone. My guess is this Muslim is a man of no accomplishment living on the dole only able to feed himself due to the generosity of the infidel taxpayer. Yet Islam makes him feel superior, the problem is deep down inside he knows he's inferior which is why all the hate for the more successful "kafir".

the only people that Islam wants are slaves and suicide bombers and Islamic Mental Institute suma cum laude.

Cornelius, I too supported the invasion because I thought we were going to go even farther into Dar el Islam. I do not know if Saddam was alive that he would not eventually be overthrown by Islamic Shiite purists/fundamentalists and this killing would have begun in earnest then. WHAT IF... can never be answered.

As a professional actress I can tell you that my colleagues are such confirmed Bush haters that they really believe that jihad does not exist, it's all Bush's fault, when he is gone and their beloved Obama is prez all will be doves and daisies. There is little to NO awareness of the history of Islamic ideology and the growth of the ummah. There is little or NO desire to know as long as traditional Christians are around as the boogie man of choice. I will try to get the word out here in Chicago but it will be indifference or unbelief. They take the culture in which they ply their crafts (i.e., Judeo Christian founded culture) for granted.

Posted by: bevc [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2008 7:40 PM

Bevc,

Those you speak of are beyond contempt. I have to say that though most of my friends and family are unfortunately quite liberal, very few of them have any illusions about Islam. At least part of this is because of my own unceasing efforts - covering about 15 years - to alert them to the true nature of Islamic theology and culture.

Keep at these folks of yours bev. Once a month, cull the most outrageous articles from JW, LGF, WND and other sites documenting the intolerance of Islamic culture and theology...and send them to family, friends and perhaps those colleagues mature enough that they won't be inclined to brand you a hater.

Over time, you'll get through. The evidence is overwhelming.

Posted by: Cornelius [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 12, 2008 8:23 PM

Indeed. The evidence is overwhelming! My family is coming around too.

I think in time, people in the West will understand that Islam is full of toxic stuff. I don't think it will be too late, but I do think the price of defeating Islam will be higher.

I suspect the turning point will be when (not if) Muslims use atomic weapons against Israel or India. I say "when" since it is much easier for any supremacists to kill than regular folks who will pine over any decision to kill, even one's enemy. I don't think the blood thirsty Mullahs will not worry at all about the deaths, but rather will relish in seeing non-Muslims die. Sad, but true.

Keep up the work folks, it takes a decade or two to wake folks up to a serious problem.

I hope this Iraq debacle teaches a lesson about Islam. the main lesson is that Muslim countries needs to be ruled by a dictatorship. with out a strong man or a strong central government the country goes to anarchy until a stronger government or dictator takes over.
Look at Pakistan , Afghanistan and turkey. Turkey and Afghanistan were reasonably secular under a strong government that kept the islamists at bay. turkey was very secular under the rule of attaturk who despised the mythical Arab religion of Islam and he wished his country to progress without a strong Islam dominating everyone's life. Afghanistan under the soviets was also relatively secular with strong man controlling the isalmists. even in under the Shah kept the islamists in check. many of his harsh policies were against the ayatollahs from gaining any influence over the Persians. He also knew that many of these people calling for democracy , freedom, etc were nothing more that islamist who really wanted the opposite for Iran.
well we know what happened to Iran with the incompetent carter support for the ayatollahs.
In Pakistan's case many of it's leaders were kept in power only if they kowtowed to both the military and the islamist to create a nation of radical, west hating but dollar loving islamist. they are currently soaking the us citizens of billions of dollars for flimsy promises to fight against the very islamist they support.
As for Iraq we have really handed over the country to the iran style ayatollahas. Don’t think for a minute that al qaeda will take over if we leave . First of all the shiites hate the sunni al qaeda. And al qaeda only supports the sunnnis.the Shiites are too strong for the al qaeda and sunnnis to take over. But these groups both are fighting against the western forces. In fact we are there mainly to make Iraq safe from the sunnis for the Shiite majority. We are doing their dirty work. Maybe Bush doesn’t realize this.

It's fascinating how this makes me think of Cambodia and its purge of intellectuals, artists, indeed anybody who could count to two on their fingers and toes.

These Muslims who obey the Qur'an most carefully are as much nihilists and worthy to be reviled as the Cambodians who lead their own nation's self-genocide.

The problem with western elites is not that they don't understand the threat.

They are atheists. The only thing that matters is their own pleasure. Military service (which *is* required) and actual combat missions for them is what's required to fend of the islamic threat.

They are not against the premise - that everything in islam is danguerous. They loathe the result ... that *they* have to fight for the rights they so wildly scream about.

This is the current strong point of the muslims - fortunately it's one where time works against them. Once only protected artists can produce art - all art worth watching will be ant-islamic, and the authors will be utterly untoucheable for muslims.

But of course, it will lead to war - fast.

The only real other choice is dropping the welfare state, which would devastate muslims (as the arabs will not care for them). What are the chances of that happening ?

Fortunately, again on this weapon time is with us. Before 2020 most western welfare states will have collapsed (including the US one if hillbama decides to create it).

The strong point of western christian culture is that it cannot realistiacally be destroyed, but it depends on regular attacks to reform itself. Islam doesn't work in the real world. So eventually (by that I mean in another 1000 years), we will have won, no matter what happens in the short term. If 2 westerners survive the islamic onslaught, if even one city holds out, all is lost for the muslims. But only in the long term.

What we're seeing now will lead to a new dark age. And, once again Christianity will turn out to be the *big* winner in 200 years. But the welfare state needs to go. And it will go down, either in flames or by mere "de-facto" dissolvement.

Every day, all TV stations should cover for 1/2 hour, all these things what are happening in the name of "Allah".
May be, when they get it shoved down their throats, it will sink in, what is happening all over the world. It is a global problem.
Bush again to the Saudie's, begging to produce more crude oil, to bring the gas prices down.
It is sickening.

at the rate the Muslims keep killing off the artists, the intellectuals, the teachers, the doctors, and so many other skilled professionals, one would think Islam plans to keep its faithful well into the 7th century mentality. opps they are!

Civilization, you can't handle civilization.

There is no joy in islam.

============

Cultural desertification.

============

from The mother of all rights; without secure property, the Islamic world can't escape tyranny and stagnation

... This Arab stereotype was cruelly applied by a British army officer named C.S. Jarvis, governor of the Sinai in the 1930s. In his memoir, Three Deserts (1936), he wrote: "The Arab is sometimes called the Son of the Desert, but this is a misnomer as in most cases he is the Father of the Desert, having created it himself. The arid waste in which he lives and on which practically nothing will grow is the direct result of his appalling indolence.... In his campaign of destruction, the Arab has been most loyally supported by his animals, the camel and the goat."

Jarvis failed to grasp the underlying disincentives and so misconstrued as idleness what may have been a rational response to despotism. And here the intriguing question arises: Is it pure coincidence that deserts flourish where such disincentives have persisted for centuries?
