On another note I think the school district needs to get a story straight about the problems caused by many people at tech. This act of public cleansing is happeing more and more in this city and has me concerned about sanitary issues.

As a Minnesota resident, I have say that in large part the "experiment" of bringing the Somali's here was and is a dangerous failure. They don't belong and the more of them that come, the less the integrate and the more aggressive they become. They are in general a very demanding and very aggressive and unpleasant group of people and I say this from personal experience. So , no this incident with the dog is not the least bit surprising, neither is the dhimmitude. The Somalis have one of the worst, entitlement mentalities of any bunch of people I have encountered, other Muslim immigrants are just as bad, there just aren't as many here yet.

I have had Somali co-workers and as fellow students at community college, and have been a fellow patient with them at the county hospital and they except for few individuals, do hate us, they constantly threaten lawsuits (how is that for integration) and generally avoid being friendly with non-Muslims.

For some examples I include the following;my brother went to a heavily Somali high-school (Minneapolis Roosevelt) and the school decided to make two Somalians, home-coming king and queen and threw out the other people on the slate,even though two non-Somalis had won. At the home-coming dance, in public the home-coming king,punched the queen in the face at the dance.At the same High school the Somalis harrassed Ethiopians,called the American blacks pig-eaters,sons of slaves and infidels,they openly expressed virulent racist hatred towards whites, including teachers and in a fight the night before September 11th attacked African American members of the football team and ended up stabbing a football coach who attempted to break up the fight. At Washburn high-school here in Minneapolis in the last couple of years there has been serious violence between Somali and African American or black gangs. At one of my jobs, they where openly rude to non-Muslims and a Somali women I worked with was being stalked by these guys, who would come a threaten her at work, she was scared and she in the end quit. There where two Bosnians at work,two cousins, and one was friendly , and his cousin yelled at him, for making friends with the Americans, and would just coldly glare at people who where friendly with him.He would never shake hands. I could go on, about my Egyptian Muslim friend in high school, who eventually turned on his American friends, over Islam and got religious after being a pot-smoking,boozer.At community college,MCTC, which has been mentioned here, the Somalis' clearly took over parts of the school. And felt no need to behave, and in class, where rude to both students and faculty.And then there are those "domestic violence" episodes in which a Somali or Ethiopian Muslim kills a woman from their community. My point being, is Muslim and Somali immigrants are not nice people and the US imported a real bunch of winners.Muslim immigration is bad,bad news.And the authorities here, have a hear no evil,see no evil policy.It is going to get worse.

Yes, it is a dog.
A hunting dog, used by the Bedouin, who are, yes, Muslims, and for whom Salukis have a special status above other dogs, traditionally even being allowed to sleep inside the tent.
And a casual websearch reveals a set of postage stamps of dogs, including a Saluki, issued in.......Somalia:

If we (Islam critics) were to claim that dogs are considered unclean in mainstream Islam, it would not take long for an apologist to point out that dogs are not considered unclean in all Islamic sects. Islam is so diverse and nuanced!

Yet interesting to see how Islam conveniently becomes monolithic when the goals of Muslims and their appeasers are to defend the actions of Muslims or attack/harrass non-Muslims in some way. One might actually think that some Muslims and their appeasers are using a double-standard: Islam is either monolithic or diverse, depending on whichever claim is more useful to advancing Islam and Muslims and defeating the West and non-Muslims. It's a double-standard, used consistently to favour Islam. (At least in this example, I would agree with Bill Warner's assessment re Islam's dualism or two-facedness).

That there is a "diversity coordinator" involved, who of course defends Islamic sharia and the individual Muslim thugs who taunted the dog, is yet another indicator of just how much trouble the West is really getting itself into. That character seems to envision some kind of evolutionary or "growth" process whereby we increasingly come to accept these demands from some Muslims, even when their behaviour is blatantly thuggish.

One aspect of the solution is to ban sharia, because it contains criminal and treasonous elements. Once sharia is banned, banning the accomodation of sharia would logically follow.

The young man needs to do several things.

1) Get a hold of a disabilities rights advocacy group and make a public stink. Get on local radio shows, newspapers, etc.

Embarrass the school and expose this Muslim fanaticism.

2) Get a lawyer and sue the school for emotional damages because of the death threat that the school tolerated.

Make them pay.

3) If he's threatened the next time, he needs to mace the somali scumbag and call 911.

The muslim attitude toward dogs is one of their most hateful traits, in my opinion. I own a black Lab who is the sweetest, most lovable dog. Service dogs are a blessing to their owners and to society in general; they are so smart and well trained to be useful, loving companions to their owners.

I hope Mr. Hurd pushes this issue. Talk about discrimination! It will interesting to see if there is any follow-up by the victim or by the university, which should at the least, expel the Somali student.

I've said it before, of all the many Islamic hell-holes in the world, Somalia is among the worst of the worst. It's a sick, miserable, backward culture, if it even deserves to be called a culture. Islam is not the only cause of its sickness, but it sustains and nurtures it very effectively. Over 90 percent of Somali women and girls are genitally mutilated in the most extreme form. Yes, even all those immigrants. Abuse of women is rampant. That story from one commenter about the Somali "homecoming king" punching the Somali "homecoming queen" at an American high school dance would almost be comical if it wasn't so sadly typical. He probably thought it was something he had every right to do. The West has gone and imported a bunch of 7th-Century barbarians, thinking they'll become just like us soon as long as we're nice to them. If the West survives all this, and I pray it will, mass Muslim immigration will go down as the most catastrophic failure in human history.

The difference, M Al, is that the Salukis are owned by Muslims, which would make them acceptable. This dog was owned by a kafir, which made it fair game. Seems like the scumbag who threatened to kill the dog was furthering the precedent set down by the Somali taxi drivers in Minneapolis. I found this interesting.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) states that a animal that assists a human with disabilites views the animal as an extention of the person.

While threatening the dog because of religous beliefs would be both a violation of the ADA but would also fulfill Federal Hate Crimes.

In East Africa, Somalis are regarded as the most barbaric and violent of all ethnic and religious groups. Even the Yemenis regard Somalis with contempt.

It says something of our ignorant political elites of importing Soamlis into the unprotected heart of the West.

Is'nt Minnesota heavily populated with people originally from Sweden? If so, then it seems a natural thing to have happened. In the UK, stabbings have recently become a major issue. What is not stated is that Somalis, followed by Kosovan/Albanians, are the biggest offenders in stabbings. A policeman acknowledged to me that he would not approach a Kosovan or Albanian without strong backup.

In Somalia, carrying a miniature sword, a curved dagger, is a normal part of male attire. So really we should not blame Somalis for doing what is natural to them.

The blame lies with our idiot politicians, who have saddled us, and more so future generations, with an existential threat.

They have anti-Ethiopian bumper stickers on their cars and had a street protest here in Minneapolis, against the Ethiopian invasion a while back, that to my mind was rather disturbing and was not so subtle threating.The Somalis get meaner,the more of them are, and frankly after seeing them close up, it is not hard to see why their country is so violent. Ayaan Hirsi Ali is what you get when a Somali exorcises Islam from their soul and joins the human race.

We read in almost any newspaper of the amazing rescues by dogs of small children and incapacitated adults. We also experience the joy and comfort which dogs bring day in and day out to our lives, and particularly to those who are lonely, sad and weary.

Given this reality, how can anyone claim that ". . .angels do not enter a house which contains a dog"? Would it not be far more reasonable to assert that not only are guardian angels comfortable with dogs, but may even enter and possess the animal in order to carry out its guardian angelic duties?

Just a thought . . . .

For whatever it is worth, I have a certain fondness for Yemen, where I found Yemenis to be generally less threatening than many of the occupants of the carriages of the London Underground.
In Yemen, a man with with an AK47 over his shoulder and a dagger in his belt has his honour, his place in the world, and will treat strangers with courtesy. A Somali on the London Underground is a different matter entirely.

I think that the students involved in harassing Hurd should be expelled from the school. Also, if the schools involved decline to do this, their districts should be sued in civil court. I normally do not like litigation, but this situation warrants it. Finally, if these immigrants from Somalia feel that cannot conform to the most basic tenants of civility and tolerance, it is time for them to be returned to their homeland, whether they are refugees or not.
