Malaysian government to appeal Court decision allowing woman to leave Islam

When the Court first handed down this decision, I wrote here that "this is a small step in the right direction, but not as much of one as you might think," because some schools of Islamic jurisprudence don't mandate the death penalty for women who leave Islam anyway -- and now it looks as if it is even less of a step in the right direction, as the modern, moderate Malaysian government is going to appeal the decision.

"Appeal against woman renouncing Islam in Malaysia," from IANS, May 18 (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):

The Malaysian government has said it would challenge a court decision allowing a Chinese woman to renounce Islam and revert to Buddhism.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the court verdict was not final and an appeal before the higher court was almost complete.

He noted that the court decision favouring the woman, Tan Ean Huan - who called herself Siti Fatimah Tan Abdullah as a Muslim - was protested by Islamist groups including a Kuala Lumpur-based political group, Hizbut Tahrir....

Islam cannot begin to allow Muslims to leave. They know if there is a leak in the dam; left unattended the leak begins to grow in size and the dam will soon crack and they the dam will burst. Once the dam bursts, the only muslims left will be the likes of Nasrallah, Bin-Laden, Al-Zawahiri, Ahmadinejad, Al-Sadr, and the rest of the crazed ones.

And there are many Muslims who want to leave Islam.

The court decision was not really an approval for anyone to renounce Islam, they did abolish and declared her conversion to Islam invalid. Not really the same as to allow conversion from Islam then she never was a Muslim. They did also reprimand the authorities that had neglected to make the new convert a “real” Muslim. Hard to see any real opening in that judgment for any “authentic” Muslim to renounce the “true” faith.

Just what I expected Muslims can't cut any slack. They are greedy fascists to the core just like their miserable prophet of hate.

Spot on, Dumbo!!!
Remember: "their miserable prophet of hate" is the perfect man, to be emulated by all muslim men.
God (NOT allah) forbid that they should be mistaken for a civilized court!!! (ie; one that believes in universal human rights)

How about the western armies start responding in kind ?

Just enforce article 29 of the universal treaty of human rights : it clearly states that human rights cannot be used to the benefit of any entity that wishes to abolish them.

In other words : muslims don't have human rights. Only those who abide by human rights can have human rights. Clearly this indicates that as a standard it should be taken whether a group of people respects human rights in their dealings with eachother. If they don't ... nothing protects them, certainly not western law.
