A 23-year-old Hamburg man suspected of stabbing his sister to death in an honour killing last week had already been prosecuted for assaulting her and others, prosecutors confirmed on Monday.
The man was sentenced in March on an assault charge to one year and five months without possibility of probation, the Hamburg prosecutor's office told German press agency DDP on Monday, confirming media reports.
The man had requested his March sentence be deferred, prosecutors said. He was notified in writing on Wednesday - a day before the stabbing - that the request had been rejected.
Police were also investigating earlier claims that he assaulted two of his sisters, including the girl stabbed last week.
Police arrested the man on Friday after the stabbing death of his 16-year-old sister early Friday morning in Hamburg's Sankt Georg district. Neighbours and a passing group of youths heard the girl screaming near the Berliner Tor metro stop and called police at 11:21 pm on Thursday. The girl died about an hour later at the scene of the stabbing.
The girl's oldest brother - like her a German citizen of Afghan origin - admitted to police he had killed her because she had turned away from her family, DDP reported. The family immigrated to Germany from Afghanistan 13 years ago, German news magazine Der Spiegel reported in its online edition.
The brother was charged in February with assaulting the 16-year-old girl and another of his sisters, DDP reported. Senior prosecutor Rüdiger Bagger denied reports that the man had already been sentenced in that case, saying that it was still pending.
The girl's cousin, Mujda O., told Der Spiegel's television unit that the 23-year-old had been getting into fights every two weeks.
"If you were to call this an honour killing, you would be correct. Very correct," the girl, who was not identified with her last name, told Der Spiegel.

The religion of peace at it again. Wow what an affront to the liberties and social harmony that exist in EU countries. These freedoms and peace enjoyed are slowly eroded by the mass asylum seekers from Islamic countries and they continue to establish sharia enclaves in the heart of European cities. I suppose Europe has taken the freedoms it enjoys for granted. You cannot allow an ideology that is taking advantage of democracies liberal tenets and then all of sudden snatch those democratic values right from underneath your feet.

I think the term "Honor killing" is much too kind for this kind of crime.
"Family execution" may be a better fit.

Ten years, ha! More likely ten DAYS! Note that he was already sentenced in March to a year without hope of probation, but was still on the streets pending appeal. He'll just appeal the 5 years or so he'll get for this, and have time to kill the other sister before this appeal is rejected.
And notice what a weaselly-worded article this is: 1) nowhere is his name given, altho he's an adult; 2) he's a "Hamburg man"; 3) only in the 6th paragraph do we learn that he's of "Afghan origin", but still a "German citizen". There's nothing to connect this with Islam at all (which surely is why his name is not given), unless one knows that virtually all Afghans are Moslems. The article apparently doesn't want to smear Moslems by implying that they have anything to do with "honor killing"; But it's o.k. to smear Afghans, or Germans, or Hamburgers by implying that they are associated with such crimes.

Daughters Disobeying Their Fathers
Come on Robert; what is wrong with you? What is this big issue of honor killings? You are always looking for a spec in other’s eyes. Who doesn’t get angry in this world with their daughters or vice versa? Every one of us, we do indulge in it. That home is not a home where difference of opinion is not found; we always resolve our issues, by convincing others or get our selves convinced. It’s better to throw things at each other in the home.... rather then have infidel boyfriends, etc.
Do you really believe in the God Almighty? Is your study and research meant to serve God and seek His blessing; so that God guides you on to right path or do you only know your assigned job of mocking the God Almightyand His Scriptures?
Is your aim to con people and see them knocked down; who so ever challenge you? Or you your self will also learn some lessons?
You claim that you have the deep studies of Quran as well as of Islamic Jurisprudence then; how come you don’t know the back ground of the Surah that pertains to the relation between father and daughters; where relations have gone bit strained and daughter is some how found having infidel boyfriend?
In such case God is telling the believers that first they should warn the daughters to check their deeds and daughters should refrain from doing so; which follows, that fathers should spare them if they come on the right path but admonish them and they should be shown that they will be physically man handled if they don’t quit their illicit designs. This all shows that God does not want the anarchy in the homes and there should be no, on going crisis. What is intended in this exercise? Man; betterment in the homes is being sought here.
This is God’s given solution ‘on the day’ of prevalent old Judaic and Pagan culture that new born Muslims society had inherited, where some daughters used to find infidel boyfriends and had lost the peace of mind and were found perturbed.
Even at present, in our so called civilized society; is there interdating going on? And what do you do other than scolding each others? And why there are killings and countless separations? Lies, Lies Lies; God is all Knowing, Mighty and wise! He knows our inner self!
*Do not boast your piety too much; see that your own daughter's apparels are all blackened, gutted and full of holes.

I forgot to add that this time, he'll be sure to have hopped a plane to Kabul, and be safe with his uncle Mahmoud, before the authorities discover the 2nd sister's body. Back home he'll be a hero.

In other news, and completely offtopic, but for the Dhimmi part of the story, or in this case, the uppity infidel part of the story, and this will warm all the cockles of Darth Batman's heart, and Huge Fitzgerald's too....(and as far as I know, there were no naive American protestors under the wheels of the bulldozer what did the deed!

I keep forgetting the women in Germany aren't worth as much they are here in the US. Immigrant German women are probably considered less than human. Do keep reminding me. I've been stuck too long here and believe that all humans have the right to digity and to live without fear from their own family members.
Adabarez, you really don't understand any concepts of Christianity. Please stay in your muslim hellhole and leave us alone. Our young women think for themselves here. We may make a few errors here and there but in the long run most of us turn out to be honest, hardworking, and self sufficient. We are like that because we won't tolerate some horney old man stifling our dreams. And to take your meds!

Honor killing=MURDER
Suicide bombing=MURDER
Sentence to death for being raped=MURDER
Is there another religion in extant, which has so many code-words for MURDER?
Adabarez: the topic of this article, whether you like it or not, is a sixteen year-old girl's MURDER, by her own brother.
Do you think it's right to MURDER women? Do you think it's right to MURDER women, if they are in one's family?
I don't know about your rules, but the primary one, in my own faith is: Thou Shalt Not Murder!
