And this is nothing new. "Nigeria: Rescue of Girls Ignites Islamic Rampage," from Compass Direct News, May 19:
NINGI, Nigeria, May 19 (Compass Direct News) – Islamists under the auspices of a paramilitary force last week destroyed six churches to protest a police rescue of two teenage Christian girls kidnapped by Muslims in this Bauchi state town.
Police recovered the two Christian girls, Mary Chikwodi Okoye, 15, and Uche Edward, 14, on May 12 after Muslims in Ningi kidnapped them three weeks ago in an attempt to expand Islam by marrying them to Muslim men. Police took the two girls, who had been under foster care, to safety in southeastern Nigeria where their biological parents live.
The kidnappers had taken the girls to Wudil town in Kano state. Following the rescue of the girls, Muslims under the auspices of the Hisbah Command, a paramilitary arm of Kano state’s Sharia Commission, responsible for enforcing Islamic law, went on a rampage on Tuesday (May 13), attacking Christians and setting fire to the churches.
The destroyed churches were the Deeper Life Bible Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, All Souls Anglican Church, Church of Christ in Nigeria, Redeemed Christian Church of God, and the Redeemed Peoples Mission.
Joseph Abdu, pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church, told Compass that damages to his church property in the Muslim rampage of May 13 amounted to about 13 million naira (US$112,857) – and that his congregation had shrunk to 40 people from the 130 who attended before the attack.
Abdu said the Christian foster parents of the two rescued girls, Kanayo Chukwu Osakwe and Robinson Ajolokwu Ozuagbunna, noticed the teenagers were missing three weeks ago and reported it to police and to Ningi’s Emirate Council.
“The Christian community in Ningi, having reported the matter to the police, organized a search team to search for the missing girls,” Abdu said. “Word eventually got to the search team that the girls were being held in the town of Wudil in Kano state by a Muslim leader in that town.”
The search team of Christians along with two policemen went to Wudil, only to be told that the Hisbah Command had returned the girls to Ningi to the Muslim leader of the town, the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Muhammadu Yunusa Danyaya.
“The team returned to Ningi and confirmed that the girls were in the palace of the Muslim leader, but that they would not be released to their parents until the Emir, who was out of town, returned,” Abdu told Compass.
Kidnapping of teenage Christian girls by Muslims, the pastor said, has become a recurring practice in Ningi. Muslims have kidnapped at least 13 Christian girls in the town, Christian sources said.
“These girls are usually kidnapped, forcefully converted to Islam, and then married out to other Muslim men against the will of both the girls and their parents,” Abdu said.
Two months ago Muslims in Ningi kidnapped another Christian teenage girl, Maryann Chinenye, converted her to Islam and then married her to a Muslim man, he said.

They have become experts at destroying Churches, Buddhist monasteries, Hindu Temples, Jewish Synagogues. Beating up Christian clergy men and Buddhist monks, Rabbis and Hindu priests is a the normal behavior of the followers of the so called religion of peace.

This is the kind of story that really gets Haid Dasalami's blood boiling: things like Beslan, remote-detonating explosives afixed to children, kidnapping young innocents for the sexual gratification of old Muslim pigs.
It's astonishing beyond belief, but what in turn gets these monsters' blood boiling is when we fail to respect them, their culture, their religion, their prophet and their god.
Yes, above all, we must show them respect.

Why aren't more people up in arms about this? I could care less about conservative Christianity but this a a fundamental human rights atrocity as well as a crime. The heck with Africa: the Sudan, Gambia, Niger, Nigeria, the north.

I see the pattern.. there is way too much "negotiation".
Who cares where what emir happens to be. There are hiostages and when their location is known you go in and rescue them as soon as the situation allows.
I hate negotiations with hostage takers.
Let God sort 'em out.

I am listening for any moderate Muslim Group to condemn this retaliatory actions of Muslims destroying the churches of the people who have just rescued kidnapped children from the clutches of the violent Muslims.

Don't worry. The majority of the world's Muslims are tolerant, peace-loving, charitable people. It's only a tiny minority who are intolerant extremists. Friday is two days away, and then we'll hear imams in mosques across the world denouncing the violence done in the name of Islam and exhorting their followers to donate money for the rebuilding of these churches.

Muslims must have capital punishment for their women marrying Christians and Jews. It's because we make better husbands! We are taught to treasure our women as equals (different but equals in some cases). A man is not of more value than a woman is orthodox Christian and Jewish theology.
In Islam, women are less than men. This is why rape is sanctioned in war (taking of women slaves) and also why rape must be rampant within Islamic societies. Consider that women who are raped, through no fault of their own (it is never their fault) are disowned by their families or outright murdered.
Why is it that the Western media does not hold Muslims to the same standards of behaviour that we in the West expect?
If Christians were stealing and raping Muslims women, I hope it would be on every major news wire and the Church could deal with these losers.

A nurse I know from a professional organization presented a program on her experience as a nurse for several years in the Magic Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She worked in the intensive care nursery, and in her opinion many of the infants had been conceived by rape of wives by their husbands,because the women were not bonded to the infants, who spent weeks or months in the hospital (some would call about once a week for a progress report on their baby).
Rape is the lot of both the kuffir and the islamic female (don't say woman, little girls are also at risk) in the hellish system of islam. Mohammed's setup is Satan's greatest achievement.
Pray daily for this war to have the unintended consequence of opening the Muslim and Arab world to the teachings of Jesus.

Dumbo might be more concerned with what he calls conservative Christianity...which is generally speaking, a Christian who actually believes his credo. In the west, we have all kinds of Christians who believe everything else, and whose only quest is for relevance in a superficial culture. The Christian who faces extermination in the rest of the world takes seriously his beliefs and his trials. The worldly obsessions with cultural relevance and all the other trivialities which infect the western church have no meaning to a man whose daughters are kidnapped, raped and forceably converted.
The press isn't anymore interested in these conservative Christians, either, because they aren't interesting enough. They don't belong to the elite class of fashionable victims that populate their world. They are persona non grata.

The islamists consider girls (infidel or non-muslim girls that is; it has little to do with them being Christian) like this to be "war booty", something they have a right to, so no wonder they are angry when it's taken away from them.

Is there no central government in Nigeria to curtail these abuses? If they're incapable the UN woulds have to step in as they like to do in so many other areas..
If we didn't have all our military tied down in iraq we could be sending them there to make sure these things don't happen.
