"No compulsion in religion..."
And of course, the penalty for apostasy is death, as directed by Muhammad himself. "Iran - Convert couple arrested, tortured, threatened," from Compass Direct News, June 24:
LOS ANGELES, June 25 (Compass Direct News) – Security police officials in Tehran this month tortured a newly converted couple and threatened to put their 4-year-old daughter in an institution after arresting them for holding Bible studies and attending a house church.
A Christian source in Iran said that 28-year-old Tina Rad was charged with “activities against the holy religion of Islam” for reading the Bible with Muslims in her home in east Tehran and trying to convert them. Officials charged her husband, 31-year-old Makan Arya, with “activities against national security” after seizing the couple from their home on June 3, forcing them to leave their 4-year-old daughter ill and unattended.
Authorities kept them in an unknown jail for four days, which left them badly bruised from beatings, with Rad “very ill” and unable to walk, said the source. Rad was released on bail of US$30,000 bail, and her husband was freed on payment of US$20,000.
“The next time there may also be an apostasy charge, if you don’t stop with your Jesus,” a female security police officer told Rad during interrogation, according to the source. Under Iran’s strict Islamic laws, Muslims who convert from Islam to another religion can be executed.
A draft law before the Iranian parliament would make the death penalty mandatory for “apostates” who leave Islam.
“They went to a court hearing just for show,” the source said, “as secret police had already taken their signatures by force with a statement that they had not changed their religion.”
The charges, however, are still open, said the source, a close friend of the couple.
The female security police official warned Rad that if she and her husband continued attending a house church and holding Bible studies, they could be imprisoned “for a very long time” and would lose their daughter, Odzhan Arya. An officer also told Rad that authorities could concoct a drug case against them, “and you will be punished as drug smugglers.” [...]

This is a casus belli. Why do not we exact reciprocity in religious freedom (and other freedoms) to all the muslim countries.
Sura II (about Jews and Christians): "Where are your proofs? Bring them if you are sincere!"
So, if the Muslims believe in the truth of the Quran, why do not they let the Christians and the Jews try to bring the proofs of the sincerity of their religion?
The Quran says to the Christians "Bring your proofs" and the Sharia hinder the Christians to evangelise.
The Quran challenges the Christians and the Jews on the truth of their beliefs; thus the Muslim society should accept that the Christians evangelise and the Jews argue their message.
This challenge (Sura II, verse 105) is somehow believing that in a debate or discussion of arguments in search of the truth, the "Quranic" Muslim arguments shall for sure be much stronger than the Christian and Jewish arguments.
The Christians have ever accepted this challenge! The pope Benedict asks for dialogue.
Why do the Muslims refuse the opportunity for the Christians to announce their faith to Muslims.
If the Quran was actually from God, there should be no danger for Islam, ... As the Muslims refuse their own (Quranic) challenge ... is it because they are not sincere?

I am emailing this to my son's religion professor who insists, "Muslims honor Jesus." Right.

Mohammedans DO "honor Jesus," BUT only as a prophet, not as the Son of God/God.
These converted Iranians are teaching Jesus is God/Allah NOT, and that ain't gonna fly with the Allahphiles.
But, e-mail to your son's Moonbat religion professor that Mohammedans consider Jesus to be a "slave" to Allah, and that, in the future, Jesus will assist Allah in destroying both Judaism and Christianity. Now, those beliefs deserve a hearty "Yeah, right!"
I think the most egregious, heinous lies I've ever heard in my entire life are that "Jesus is a slave to Allah, and will assist Allah in destroying Judaism and Christianity." No greater lies than those, and 2 huge reasons why I HATE - Yes, HATE - Islam.

If you consider using Jesus/"Isa" as a sock puppet to refute the major theological doctrines of the New Testament and giving his imprimatur and deference to the unholy, fabricated religion of Mohammed, well, yes, then "honored". I always thought Islam had a strange sense of honor anyway, killing children, stoning women, etc.

What a shame! The $50,000 in bail money would have been enough to move this little family to a different country and help them get a start, where they could live as Christians, without being abused for their beliefs.
When is the "sleeping giant" going to wake up, and really start channeling their donations into helping their brothers and sisters in Christ out of these abusive and life threatening environments? If all the Christians could leave Muslim countries, without fear and enough funds to relocate, I think the world would be surprised by the mass exodus and brain drain the Muslim countries would experience. I believe there are far more "closet" Christians and apostates from Islam in those countries than anyone would anticipate.

Dear Moslem readers:
Take note that these are the type of people that are true martyrs for their faith. It must make you wonder how many more apostates there are... hiding underground in home-based churches, learning and teaching the deliverance, freedom and peace that is found in the Bible and Torah.
Do you ever wonder about or feel ashamed that the allah you are forced to worship is so insecure as to physically punish and sometimes even execute those who would dare to seek Truth and Knowledge and Peace?
Truth will win over falsehood. We may not see it now, but in the end the Light will be shined on the darkness and the darkness will be no more. I pray that someday you will be set free from your bonds of slavery.
