A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman's hat advertising a Scottish police force's new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims.
Tayside Police's new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.
The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer's hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine.
The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.
Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: 'My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards.
'It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities.
'They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they'd seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn't have done it.'
Councillor Asif, who is a member of the Tayside Joint Police Board, said that the force had a diversity adviser and was generally very aware of such issues.
He raised the matter with Mr Vine at a meeting of the board.
The chief constable said he was unaware of the concerns and that the force had not sought to cause any upset but added he would look into the matter.
Councillor Asif said: 'People who have shops just won't put up the postcard. But the police have said to me that it was simply an oversight and they did not seek to offend or upset.'
Cards featuring police dog-in-training Rebel have been distributed to communities throughout the area to advertise the single number point of contact for non-emergency calls to the police.
Rebel has proved a popular recruit for Tayside Police after coming through the very first Lothian and Borders Police dog-breeding programme in February.
One of seven German Shepherd pups born in early December, he has now completed his course of inoculations, and is free to venture out onto the streets of Tayside.
Vaccinations aside: "Abu Dharr reported: The Messenger of 'Allah (may peace be upon him) said: When any one of you stands for prayer and there is a thing before him equal to the back of the saddle that covers him and in case there is not before him (a thing) equal to the back of the saddle, his prayer would be cut off by (passing of an) ass, woman, and black Dog. I said: O Abu Dharr, what feature is there in a black dog which distinguish it from the red dog and the yellow dog? He said: O, son of my brother, I asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) as you are asking me, and he said: The black dog is a devil." - Sahih Muslim 4.1032
A spokesman for Tayside Police said: 'Trainee police dog Rebel has proved extremely popular with children and adults since being introduced to the public, aged six weeks old, as Tayside Police's newest canine recruit.
'His incredible world-wide popularity - he has attracted record visitor numbers to our website - led us to believe Rebel could play a starring role in the promotion of our non-emergency number.
'We did not seek advice from the force's diversity adviser prior to publishing and distributing the postcards. That was an oversight and we apologise for any offence caused.'

I actually thought they believed being in the presence of a dog was unclean, but a photo??? When does the madness end??? Maybe when they arrive in their host countries they should just hand out to all the residents of every neighborhood, a list of what everyone is allowed to do say think as well as wear so as not to offend them..After all, our laws are all based on "hate"

All over England and Scotland and Wales many will now, one assumes, possibly as part of a Neighborhood Watch or rudimentary Home Guard operation, be buying black dogs. And making sure to take them out for frequent walks around the neighborhood.

They only thing Muslims do not find offensive is when there is mass murder of infidels by some Jihadis, there certainly will not be any calls from them to the constabulary. The dog loving Brits are not going to like this. See this as a good development. These morons are shooting themselves in the foot and gaining in unpopularity. The more absurd their complaints, the more they reject what is most beloved to the host culture the less chance they will have with ordinary folk. And not just any sort of black dog.
BIG black dogs. Black Labradors. Black Alsations. The bigger and blacker and badder the better.
Form dog-walking clubs, and go for regular walks in large parties, round the parish and shire and county boundaries, especially in areas that currently harbour aggressive and expanding Muslim colonies.
Every church and every synagogue, every manse or rectory or rabbi's house, should have four big black guard dogs (name them after the four Archangels: Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel). I don't know how Sikhs, Buddhists and Hindus feel about dogs, but perhaps in the present situation in the UK, a similar stratagem might be a very good idea. As for Chinese Taoists: I understand the statues outside such, represent dogs of some kind, so real live guard dogs to ward off Mohammedan marauders would be a natural extrapolation of this principle.

In an earlier thread this month, there was a story about Muslims taking exception to police sniffer dogs - they didn't want the dogs actually coming close enough to touch them, although this is a necessary part of the dogs' job.
Someone observed: thieves and robbers don't like dogs.
I'll bet that, stripped of the superstition, THAT is the real reason why Mohammedans have such a terror of dogs.
They want us deprived of our guard and watch dogs, our sniffer dogs that can detect explosives and poisons and drugs and other dirty tricks. They want us stripped of our defences.
The police in Scotland need to wake up to this agenda, fast.

I am almost as sick of the once-proud Brits (cultural Brits, not paper-citizen Muslims) as I am of Islam. This was the culture I once respected as much as my American one (which is also headed south due to the same autogenocidal forces).
The Brits are famous for their love of animals. This is their culture, and Muslim immigrants are butchering it, with the aid of the corrupt Galloways, Livingstons, Browns and Blairs. Sad to say, but I'm rather happy my great grandfather, Alex Moody, left Edinburough in 1875 if this is what the "Ladies from Hell" have become. Perhaps the Police Chief should have asked the diaperhead spokesman to please find something about Islam that isn't totally offensive to any civilized person, and then offered to trade one for the other: we won't use a black dog if you stop (pick an activity or belief and insert here). Or he could have suggested that those offended hand in their welfare cards and return to the piles of sand whence they came.

I have TWO big black dogs. They are a breed, Black Russian Terriers, that was engineered by the KGB during the cold war - bred to be border patrol and personal protection dogs. Black Russian Terriers, constructed from Giant Schnauzers, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Newfoundlands and Airedales. 30" at the shoulder, 135 to 160 lbs., totally dedicated to defending their family. They are famous for being SBD - silent but deadly. Get one (or two)!

One peculiar overtone of that dhimmi response rings a bell with me. That bell is named 'Common Purpose', which is a rather interesting organisation that doesn't quite get the attention it deserves. I've posted briefly about it here:

I love to take my black dog to the park and watch the Somalis scream and run in fear! The mothers call all the children to them and they huddle in a mass, shaking. The men are just as frightened and give her a wide berth on the walking path, which is funny because as a border collie she often has a "stalking" approach (inbred to herd the sheep) and it scares the crap out of them and looks very sinister. She's actually very friendly and when they get close she strains at the leash to "meet" them and give big, wet, sloppy kisses, which of course I don't allow. (They think she's the Devil's familiar so they shy away, anyway, often leaving the path entirely.) No dog of mine will be contaminated in that way.

Now this black dog story is way waaaaay off topic, but since we are talking about black devil dogs, here, I thought I would share this bit of hilarity.
My kids, twin girls, when they were about 6 years old were outside playing, down the street near a church yard, when all the sudden, I look out from my apartment window, and see an unusually aggressive black lab barking at them. He had them backed up against a fence, and they were calling out for someone, anyone, to help them. From round the corner, our neighbor, a deeply religious Pentecostal black grandma, on her way home from the bodega across the street, saw my girls, and boldly went up to the Devil Dog, and began hurling canned goods at him, loudly invoking the name of Jesus as she let the missiles fly.
When she ran out of soup cans, she removed her wig and ordered Satan to leave them girls alone....and the dog, I mean, Satan, ran off.
One brave woman armed with only canned soup and a wig. The dog was no match for her!

I have heard that the Scottish police are going to scrap the bomb-sniffing dogs and replace them with English Budgies. The don't actually sniff out bombs, but they look pretty and won't offend a soul.

What's the real story behind Mo and dogs?
My take on this? I think ol' Mo liked to pull the camel wool over people's eyes. A lot. He fooled so many people he was able to convince his contemporaries that it's really ok to have swinging sex with a prepubescent nine year old girl. That it's ok to kill others for the crime of "unbelief." That it's ok to treat women like property, and that if your daughter is raped, then it was HER fault, and only her death will clean the stain from the family's "honor."
Trouble is, try as he might, ol' Mo could never pull the wool over the dog's eyes.
Let's face it...the dog's, any dog's, senses are just too sharp. Their BS meter just goes off the chart that they could tell when ol' Mo was going to tell another tall tale, and THAT'S why Mo didn't want dogs to be around.
