Anti-dhimmitude alert: “Italy: Proposed fines for Muslims sparks controversy,” from AKI , July 7:
Milan, 7 July (AKI) - The President of the northern Italian city of Milan, Filippo Penati, has triggered widespread debate with a controversial proposal to fine Muslims who pray on the streets outside the city's mosque.
Correction: “controversial proposal to fine anyone who prays on the streets.” If this proposal passes, Christians who pray on sidewalks, creating traffic and obstacles, will also be fined.
According to authorities, the number of people praying on the sidewalk creates traffic and obstacles for pedestrians in the area surrounding the Viale Jenner mosque, a converted garage."Article 190 of the law regarding the obstruction of streets should be applied immediately," said Penati.
"I do not know or understand why the law has not been applied before," he said.
Because when it comes to Islam, the law, not to mention common sense and protocol, is often in hiatus—lest Muslims be offended.
"The municipality of Milan should apply the law and fine transgressors, not to limit their freedom of worship, which should be guaranteed for all, but prayer carried out on the sidewalk is forbidden by the laws of our country."The Viale Jenner mosque, or cultural Islamic centre, can only hold 4,000 faithful. Those who cannot fit inside bring their Islamic prayer mat and lay it on the street outside the mosque and close to passing cars.
In related news, one time while driving on the highways of Minnesota, I saw a minivan pulled over to the side, with what I thought was a hunched over man changing his tire. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was a Muslim man who, since it was prayer time, had pulled over, with his family in the vehicle, stepped out amidst whizzing cars, determined where the qibla was, laid out a mini-carpet, and proceeded to prostrate himself in prayer. Very pious, to be sure—so what if other motorists, not to mention his own family, were killed? True story.

Italy seems to be taking the lead in anti-dhimmitude lately. Good for them!
Telling people they can't pray in the street will likely lead to outrage and demands that a new mosque be built to handle the overflow.

Ah, those sightings of Muslims at public prayer.
Recently, while walking through NYC's Battery Park, I noticed what I first thought were some young people practicing some esoteric rites - which wouldn't be unusual to see around here. But then I noticed that four of the five were kneeling on the ground, butts skyward, and knew they were Muslims praying. This bothered me, for many reasons which jihadwatchers would understand, but mostly because Battery Park is within blocks of where the World Trade Center used to be.
Also, they were a stone's throw from The Sphere, which is a piece of sculpture that was pulled from the WTC wreckage & put up in Battery Park.
For those unfamiliar with it, see here:

And as it was before 9/11:

The very fact these Muslims were praying in the park seemed a slap in the face to those who'd suffered through that day.
Yes, really; that's what it felt like. I was seething.

Now, that just sounds disgusting.

Suffered and died. And here we've got Mohammedans praying to their Terror moon god not far from the WTC.
I lived in NYC for two years, Vee, prior to 9/11. I had dinner at "Windows on the World" a few times. I never saw any Muslims whacking their heads in Battery Park or Central Park, indeed, I don't recall noticing any Muslims at all.
I don't blame you for "seething," I would be, too. It must be really tough emotionally to live in Manhattan post-9/11.

Now imagine how it will feel when you visit the planned Flight 93 memorial - a giant "mosque" in Shanksville Pennsylvania.
Alec Rawls has been doing all the background work on exposing this nightmare, the second hijacking of Flight 93 and you can read all about it at his website errortheory.blogspot.com or read his book on the same subject for free online.

August 2nd is the next public meeting of the Memorial Project. . If you reside in the area - BE THERE!
The father of one of our Flight 93 heroes is asking America’s churches for help.
In consultation with Tom Burnett Sr., I put together a flyer that all of us can take to our local churches to try to organize sanctioned fact-checking efforts that our churches can stand behind publicly two months from now. August 2nd is the next public meeting of the Memorial Project. Tom and I [Alec Rawls] will both be traveling to Somerset PA to rally opposition. Mancow Muller is urging his national radio audience to attend, and groups like Rolling Thunder are also being contacted.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but, if a woman passes in front of a Muslim as he's wagging his butt in the face of God and the general public, doesn't this nullify his prayers?
Vee, I don't know if you're a woman or a man, and I won't ask. But, if a woman can so easily thwart a butt-wagger's prayers, by playing the part of a black cat, it's worth thinking about.
It's a "back atcha" slap in the face... If you're a man, you could probably get a female friend to assist you ;)

I saw a guy praying on the Champ de Mars in front of the Eiffel last summer. I wish I had told him that the Eiffel Tower disrupted compasses and he was facing the wrong way.

Yes, they start namaz on the streets when they feel that they can get away with it. In our islamized cities, traffic comes to a halt when these zombies block the roads and the squares while "praying".

Not just a woman, a man passing in front of a muslim when he is doing his stuff also nullifies the namaz. muhammadans react VIOLENTLY when a kaffir does this. I won't advise anyone to try this alone, unless one is in peak physical condition and willing to fight with a crazed psychopath.

Gee, Abscedere, I am a woman and did pass in front of them (though not closely). Too bad it didn't disrupt them.
Guess they weren't pious enough. Or their purpose was not really prayer.
And Darcy, it's probably no tougher living in NYC now than elsewhere in the States. I'm beginning to see covered women everywhere I go in this country!
BTW, for comparison purposes, yesterday a Hassidic man pulling my car out of a parking lot put a rubber mat down on my carseat before sitting there. Of course that wasn't pleasant, with it's implication of "unclean woman". But I got to laugh to myself and not worry one whit that really, he'd just as soon wipe me off the face of the earth.

Nope. The Lisbon Treaty has not yet been ratified. Al Thanks go to the intrepid Irish!
The two-headed EU-Monster I call Serkelozy is working overtime to ram this ignoble abomination down all our throats.
Kind of like the Dubai Ports World deal over here. With even greater adverse effects..
By the way I heard they pushed the Dubai deal through quietly and behind the curtains just recently.
All our guvmints seem hell-bent on handing Sovereignty to a "higher authority".
I really wish I knew what's in it for them.

Hey I saw one of them praying last summer right off Sixth Avenue in the 40s. I stepped on the side of his rug and cussed him out for impeding sidewalk traffic.
It wasn't the Mo who got violent but a few of the PC New Yorkers gave me nasty looks for I guess disrupting the prayers of a member of the "religion of peace".

Christians, if passing a Muslim or Muslims very publicly prostrating themselves in the streets of a non-Muslim city, could consider discreetly making the sign of the Cross as they pass and uttering a quick, quiet, heartfelt prayer, mentally or in a whisper, for the liberation of said Muslim/s from what Hugh calls 'the mind-forged manacles' of Islam.
If you're a Catholic, recite the Hail Mary under your breath; non-Catholics might consider the Lord's Prayer or, if in a hurry, one of the other short invocations such as the Trishagion ('Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy and Immortal, have mercy on us') or the Agnus Dei as used by, for example, Anglicans - 'Jesus Lamb of God have mercy upon us/ Jesus bearer of our sins, have mercy upon us/ Jesus redeemer of the world, grant us Your peace'. Or, even shorter 'Lord, defeat the Jihad; convert the Muslims'.
A similar prayer whenever one passes a mosque might be in order.
I don't know what people of other faiths (for example, Jews) may choose to do.
But I know that Christians are commanded to 'pray for those who persecute you', and Muslim countries are persecuting Christians wholesale.
Note: I am not proposing prayer as a substitute for the many kinds of words and deeds that are needed to roll back the Stealth Jihad and the Combat Jihad. Not at all. 'Say your prayers and pass the ammunition'.
And for atheists and agnostics who may find this advice irritating - please consider the psy-ops angle. I suspect that if MUSLIMS, every time they started their prayer routines in the street or the park, were to notice numerous Christian passers-by making the sign of the Cross, and to suspect said Christians of saying prayers while doing so, they would be *severely* rattled. They DO NOT like Christian prayers.

arjun.sevak,
You've got a point. I'll never forget the picture of the little girl who was severely beaten by her kindergarten teacher, when she stepped on his prayer mat.
Dumbledoresarmy's psy-ops are a better idea.

Oh, yes--a poor little 6-year-old. This was in 2006. I know this was covered by JW, but I couldn't find a link. Here's another site that also covered this appalling story:
