But child marriage is still a-ok! "Yemeni groups join forces to combat 'vice'," from Agence France-Presse, July 17:
SANAA: Yemen's conservative leaders, Islamist opposition and tribal leaders have formed an "unnatural" alliance to fight growing depravity, local newspapers said on Wednesday. Known as the "Committee for the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice" - reminiscent of that backed by the religious police in neighboring Saudi Arabia - the group was formed late on Tuesday at a meeting in the Yemeni capital. Delegates, united under the slogan "May the ship [Yemen] not sink," expressed alarm at what they said was growing depravity in society, including drinking of alcohol, mixing of sexes in schools, "depraved" television shows and uncontrolled access to the Internet. They also denounced the "sex trade" and use of drugs, without however mentioning the widespread, traditional chewing of qat, a mildly intoxicating leaf. Some Yemenis see this as a major social problem, undermining the economies of many households and affecting the efficiency of the country's work force.

wow we cant have the sexes mixing in schools we would have the students having sex in public (sarc)
but thats what we have in the west right just look at all the teen age pregnancy's we have in schools right

The Islamic World and Arab culture in particular are painfully slow to take up any type of work. This is one of the reasons why no original thought, no advances in science or the arts are generated within the muslim culture.
Their work force consists mostly of slaves. Let's call it what it is.
Western peoples flock to their muslim slave masters. We build, maintain, and operate the muslim lands. The muslim masters enjoy their tall buildings, oil fields, palaces, and money. The skyline of Dubai? Built by slaves too stupid to realize they are in chains.
It is funny how we are cutting our own throats for Allah and that we do it willingly. I hope we realize just how deep the lie of Islam goes. I hope these sparkling cities built by slaves become empty wastelands and that Arab culture in particular dies.

Does the Muttawakil ever stop to think what sort of comedy fodder the very long winded name 'Ministry for the promotion of virtue & prevention of vice' sounds to those not unfortunate enough to be under its jurisdiction?

Denounced? Why the sex trade is part and parcel of Islam's very core. Islam is sex trade, 24/7. What other options are there for muslim females? None.
A Muslim woman can never remain single. She cannot, like a Christian, enter a convent or a monastery. She will never run a school, hospital, nothing. She cannot consecrate her life, her virginity, to God and serve humanity. Can you imagine a cloister of women living independently, in dar al-islam? Think of all the nuns and sisters raped and murdered by the Moors.
Virginity? The wildest tramps in 90210 manage to keep their virginity longer than these cradle robbing Muslim beasts allow their young victims.
