Chelyabinsk, Interfax - Eighty percent of Muslim literature published in Russia reflects ideas and principles of wahhabism, islamologist Roman Silantyev said."It contains appeals not to observe laws of non-Muslim states (and Russia is a non-Muslim state), to liquidate peoples with other religious convictions," Silantyev told journalists at the Chelyabinsk Interfax press center.
According to him, the same can be referred to informational sources as "many of them are financed by wahabis and promote ideas of radical Islam.'
Silantyev believes the key problem is that certain Islamic leaders are identified with all Russian Muslims.
"We often see that a Muslim leader speaks out with radical statements or threats and serve them up as an opinion of the significant part of Muslims. While the reputation of the leader is often questioned," the islamologist said.
He reminded, "according to the information of Russian general prosecutor's office, people's court twice condemned co-chairman of Russia's Mufti Council Nafigullah Ashirov for robbery and disorderly conduct."

Is anybody translating Mr Spencer's books into Russian?
I know that one or two of Bat Yeor's books have been thus translated.
For the use of ordinary Russian Christians, a Russian translation of Dr Mark Durie's "Revelation? Do Muslims and Christians Worship the Same God?' might come in handy. Maybe the Bible Society or one of the Missionary Societies would be game to do it.

Many people fear a resurgent Russia with it's anomosity to the West powered by oil revenues. But I think it shall not last. She is still a prison house of nations stepping on the ethnic minorites. And if the Russians were all sweetness and light the mohammedans still would be upset, mohammedans enjoy being upset.

Russians and mohammedans killing each other does not bother me. We owe the Russians for Viet Nam and the mohammedans for 9/11 +. We allied with the Russians once and all the world paid a terrible price. Hope the same happens to China.

It could be argued that the Byzantines lost Anatolia and North Africa but gained Russia - in which case, all in all, I think they got the better half of the bargain.

My guess is that Russia, rudderless, and cynically void of any self-preserving ideology will simply ignore it til it can't be ignored and then will do what Russia does. Maybe in the next pogrom the Muslims WILL actually be the new Jews.

Yes, and it is time the Christians took back Constantinople, Anatolia, Syria, North Africa and what ever they still have in the Balkans. Now in no way do I want to offend the pagan moon god worshipers, I just want them back in the desert, but NOT any desert that was Christian or has oil.
Hey, give them China and let the two thugs fight it out. They could keep Iran except for the oil fields and ports. Camels don't need access to the sea.
