On March 29, we posted this story about a Muslim bus driver who allegedly halted his bus in the middle of his route so that he could pray.
The story came from the UK Sun, which today has retracted the story and apologized to the driver, who was on a completely licit work break when he prayed. (Thanks to Ascension for the heads-up.)
As the faithful reader of Jihad Watch will know, there is more than enough dhimmitude to go around in Britain without fabricating stories, and I am glad to pass on The Sun's retraction.

What? I thought all the stories here are made up by those Zionist people (and FOX News).

Where I come from, that particular rag is know as 'The Scum'
It's so hated that those who do buy it tend to keep it out of sight. Anyone waving a copy around in public could get anything ranging from hostile looks up to a smack in the chops.
Oh yes indeed....... The Scum do have a habit of not letting the facts get in the way of a juicy story.

The apology should reflect the size of the original report and be on the front page.
Wishbone, I recall the 'Scum' title, I think originated from the 80s TV show 'Spitting Image' where the 'Scum' reporters were portrayed as wolves.

Apologized to the driver? Now go wash your mouth out with soap, and thank you for setting such a great dhimmi "precedent", one that I will never follow. You wouldn't catch me apologizing to HIM. No way.

Mr. Spencer, you a man of integrity. That is why I have so much trust in JW/DW. You have a dedication to reason and the facts.
Generally, they are troubling enough.

I'm not buying it from the people who cried wolf a thousand too many times. Muslims and their takiyya are like politicians--you know they are lying when their lips are moving. Besides, didn't the story include several passengers who were complaining that the driver stopped out of the blue and started his "kaffir"-hating prostrations to Mohammad's twisted vision of God, I mean praying? I don't see how that can be misinterpreted as a legitimate break. This apology sounds more like jihadist intimidation of the press to me.

The retraction doesn't have any proof, here it is in full:
"We now accept that these allegations were completely untrue.
"Mr Raulynaitis is not a fanatic and he did not ask passengers to leave his bus to allow him to pray.
"In fact, he was praying during his statutory rest break.
"We apologise to Mr Raulynaitis for the embarrassment and distress caused."
Where's the proof of all this? What did they base their opinion that "these allegations are completely untrue"?
Anyway, even if they were untrue, all it means is that it's ok for Muslims to pray for our death and/or subjugation, as long as they do so on their break time.

dhimmiwit-
Spitting Image, if I remember correctly, portrayed the press alternately as pigs or wolves. The use of 'Scum' to name that particular rag where I live is more down to their conduct in reporting the events at Hillsborough.
We hold grudges like that for a long time.
I do miss Spitting Image, though.

Greetings:
How does a "statutory break" come with passengers on the bus.
Aren't driver breaks taken during route turn-arounds when the buses are empty?

All of it is rather white-washed, isn't it?
On this The 6th Anniversary of the Murder of Sister Cecelia Moshi Hanna... Who hear even heard of her before? Who knows about what is going on in good old Syria these days?
