Global climate disruption will lead to a rise in sea levels that will swamp the Maldives. Where do the Muslims in the Maldives expect to be taken in? They should be taken in not by India, and certainly not by the threatened Western world, but by Pakistan, or Bangladesh?

And what about Bangladesh, one-quarter or one-third of which will be underwater? Who should rescue them? Not India. Let them move in with other Muslims in other parts of Bangladesh. And certainly don't allow them to phonily "re-unite" with "relatives" who have made it to the West.

Or perhaps they could ask Saudi Arabia, or some other Muslim state -- Pakistan, say -- to take them in. Why not? Members of the Umma are supposed to owe their loyalty, or whatever loyalty to other humans they can muster, only to fellow members of that umma.

Let it be a test of Muslim fellow-feeling and Muslim solidarity, and not a test of suicidal Western beliefs that ideologies, or Total Belief-Systems, do not matter, and that in any case, we in the West are permanently condemend, for reasons never made clear, to do what no other part of the world -- not East Asia, not the rich Arab countries -- ever do, which is take everyone in.

The role of America, in particular, as Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose is beginning to pall.

Here is my thought.

Muslims who complain about living in the decadent and democratic west can move to the Maldives. Think about it, Muslims! A tropical paradise without kufirs! Sharia Law! Nobody insults the Prophet or Islam. Good beaches with muslimahs in the new burqa bikinis!

Gee, Hugh, it's not like you to engage in wishful thinking. You're usually so realistic. You know perfectly well that if the waves start to wash over the Maldives most of the Maldivers would end up in the U.S. There ae about 300 thousand of them; various lefty-dhimmi Western countries like Sweden, the Netherlands, and New Zealand would take 3 to 5 thousand each, Canada would take maybe 20 thousand, and the U.S. would take all the rest, a 1/4 million or so. We'd "settle" them in some welfare paradise like Minneapolis, where they could start making demands that their special needs be met. The best we could hope for would be that they'd feud with the Somalis and begin bumping each other off.

Assuming you are right about global warming, this is a good reason to let/make (depending on one's POV) happen. Let Maldives and Bangladesh, and if possible, even Aceh, Malaya and other such places drown.

In such an event, Mohammedans should stay where they are and accept their fate as the will of Allah. After all, isn't Allah all-seeing, all-knowing?
