Canceled Aisha novel finds publishers in UK and Germany

"An open society there has to be open access to literary works, regardless of fear." Yep. Anti-dhimmitude in Europe. But not, so far, in the U.S. An update on this story.

"British publisher to bring out controversial Prophet Mohammed novel," from AFP, September 3:

A novel about the Prophet Mohammed and his child bride, which has already caused controversy in the United States and Serbia, will be released in Britain next month, its publisher said Wednesday.

Publishing house Gibson Square, known for having sold other controversial books, such as Alexander Litvinenko's "Blowing Up Russia", said it was "imperative" that "The Jewel of Medina" by American author Sherry Jones be available to the public.

Random House announced last month that it had cancelled publication of the book -- a fictional account of the Prophet's relationship with his youngest bride Aisha -- in the United States, saying it had been informed by credible sources that the book could incite violence.

The book was also released in Serbia last month, but was withdrawn after protests from the local Muslim community.

Martin Rynja, publishing director at Gibson Square, said, however, that in "an open society there has to be open access to literary works, regardless of fear."

"Canceled Muhammad novel finds new publisher," from AP, September 3:

BERLIN (AP) -- A historical novel about the prophet Muhammad and his child bride that was pulled by Random House over concerns it would anger Muslims will be printed by another German publisher, the author said in an interview released Wednesday.

Germany's Leipziger Volkszeitung newspaper said Sherry Jones told them her debut novel "The Jewel of Medina" will be published in October in English. The American author declined to identify the publisher or give other details, but dismissed concerns it could provoke violence, the newspaper reported.

"To claim that Muslims will answer my book with violence is pure nonsense," Jones said. "Anyone who reads the book will see that it honors the prophet and his favorite wife."

Wonderful. An opportunity missed to defend the human rights of girls victimized by child marriage in Islamic lands.

This is actually good news, and not only for the principle of freedom of speech.

From published excerpts and reports, it appears that Ms. Jones's novel celebrates and romanticizes the sexual molestation of a prepubescent child by an old man. By now, it is well known that molesters claim that their victims "want it" and "enjoy it." Ms. Jones's prose appears to claim the same desire and enjoyment for the nine-year-old Aisha.

Her novel is, at the very least, an argument defending child molestation -- almost as if it had been dictated by felons from state prison. There is a priceless opportunity now to point out that Islam approves of the conduct that all civilized nations fear, despise and punish.

Aisha's age is changed in the book to 14 from the actual 9.
Aisha was "married" to the 50ish Mohammad when she was 6, and then she was 9 when Mohammad first raped her, as is stated in several hadith.
Jones, the author, obviously changed Aisha's age to make a gruesomely pedaphilic story into the merely perverted.

According to a reply I got from the author, she felt it was OK to make Aisha 14 since many of the ahadith are not perfectly clear on her age and because one can't be truly sure of something that happened 1400 years ago.

So she purposely ignored the evidence that explicitly says she was 6 (or 7) in order to make the story (and Islam?) more palatable.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story, right?

Despite the author's attempt to sanitize the pedophilia of the Pervert Mohammad,"The Jewel of Medina" is a great opportunity to point people to the facts about the Pervert Mohammad. Start making comments on blogs and educating people about this evil so called Prophet. While the Media are too scared to investigate who Mohammad really was lest "The Religion of the Perpetually Offended" kill them, we can engage in a viral campaign to educate people. My friends and family are starting to move from "That can't be true" to "Its disturbing that anyone would be a Muslim since Mohammad was so evil."

Here's a list of the Muslims sources which document that the Pervert Mohammad had sex with a child.

I need some help ensuring that the following comments stay on the JEWEL OF MEDINA entry in wikipedia.

The references are from the Aisha entry in wikipedia so there is no reason that they should be removed other that mischief.

Don't add anything goofy to wikipedia,it will just get removed. The historical inaccuracies section should stick given time.

==Historical Inaccuracies in the Novel==

In the novel, the character of Aisha is 14 years old. Authoritative Islamic writings indicate that Aisha was six or seven years old when betrothed to Muhammad. She stayed in her parents' home until the age of nine, when the marriage was [[consummated]] Barlas (2002), p.125-126{{Bukhari|5|58|234}}, {{Bukhari-usc|5|58|236}}, {{Bukhari-usc|7|62|64}}, {{Bukhari-usc|7|62|65}}, {{Bukhari-usc|7|62|88}}, {{Muslim|8|3309}}, {{Muslim-usc|8|3310}}, {{Muslim-usc|8|3311}}, {{Abudawud|41|4915}}, {{Abudawud-usc|41|4917}}Tabari, Volume 9, Page 131; Tabari, Volume 7, Page 7

Great news! Even if the age has been changed the fact remains that she is still underage so anything that exposes the pedophile so called 'prophet of Islam' is good.
Expose the f@%ker for what he was!

"Aisha's age is changed in the book to 14 from the actual 9.

I still have doubts about the girl's real age. The islamic calendar has only ten months. So Ayesha at age 9 according to the islamic calendar would be actually 90 months old. According to modern reckoning (12 months a year) that would make her even less than eight years old.

Yup. Ol' pbuh liked them young, all right.
