Iran: "Satanic cults" have entered the country to "promote Islamophobia"

They "wear broken-cross and skeleton necklaces and rings, drink alcohol and dance in their ceremonies."

If that sounds more like an '80s metal revival than the forces of evil, there is ample reason, as described below. This campaign is clearly geared toward stamping out the cultural imprint of the "Great Satan." It's harder to raise the next generation to hate the America and the West when they're enjoying various forms of Western creativity and freedom of expression. "Iran says Satanist cults challenging Islam: report," from Agence France-Presse, September 17:

TEHRAN - Iranian police said dozens of Satan-worshiping cults have found their way into the country and that many of them are seeking to turn people against Islam, press reports said on Wednesday.
"There are more than 3,000 Satan-worshipping cults in the world and about 50 of them have entered Iran," deputy police chief Hossein Zolfaghari was quoted as saying by Etemad newspaper.
He said about half of those groups were active and that about 200 books on the subject had been translated, printed and distributed.
Such groups commonly "deviate from conventional religions, make false promises, sexually exploit" and "are tasked with (promoting) Islamophobia," Zolfaghari said.
"Satan-worshippers wear broken-cross and skeleton necklaces and rings, drink alcohol and dance in their ceremonies. They believe they should defy religions, especially Islam, do as they want and drag the world into anarchy."
Zolfaghari said some of these groups sought to "attract young people by playing satanic music during (private) sports activities," had books in English and "gather in parks to talk about events across the country and Satan."
Iranian authorities sometimes link hard rock and heavy metal music and their icons with Satan worship.
Last year police arrested 230 people in a raid on a "Satan-worshipping" underground rock concert near Tehran amid a nationwide crackdown on attire and behaviour deemed contrary to Islamic law.
About two third of Iran's 70 million Shiite-majority population are under 30 years old.

"deviate from conventional religions", "They believe they should defy religions"
Can somebody please explain this: religions, plural? Why do Muslims speak like this when their countries essentially have only 1 religion, as if they would care about deviation and defiance against religions other than Islam? This is especially bizarre for reports regarding internal matters, like this one, where Muslim taqiyya artists usually don't bother with the pretense that things like "defamation of religions" apply to any religion other than Islam. "do as they want and drag the world into anarchy."

Sounds like Islam itself to me!! Islam is the satan worshipping cult - the muslims are just brainwashed into thinking it isn't!

"About two third of Iran's 70 million Shiite-majority population are under 30 years old."

Pay attention to this last sentence,

When the Ayatollah Khomeini succeeded in his his Islamic revolution in 1978 there were less than 20 million living in Iran. That means the population, in spite of the war with Iraq that killed over a million, nearly quadrupled under Islam and sharia.

Very much like Araf*kcs invented Palistanians, whose numbers increased seven times since the so-called 'nakba' and who have nothing better to do than promote the fairy tale of the Zionist 'genocide' grievance theater.

The only way for us to survive is to detach ourselves totally from the so-called Islamic world, to intern and to deport Muselmanicas in large numbers from the West, to restrict aid as well as trade and to sit back and wait till they implode.

"Satan worshipping cults" vs. Islam.
"Satan worshipping cults" vs. Islam.

Am I the only one having difficulty seeing the difference?

For those unenlightened ... "broken cross" sometimes refers to the peace symbol.

Peace? ... Somebody wants PEACE tolerated in Iran??? ... Horrors!

Translating the double-speak, it seems some bored teenagers are wearing peace symbols, listening to badly pirated heavy metal tapes and acting sullen.

I have some anti-regime Zoroastrian email friends in Tehran who wear Star-of-David necklaces under their clothing.

It's amazing that 3000 years of the great Persian civilization has been reduced to this.

How does modern Iran compare to the Achaemenid Empire (550 BC–330 BC)? This taken from wikipedia:
"The Persians allowed local cultures to survive, following the precedent set by Cyrus the Great. This was not only good for the empire's subjects, but ultimately benefited the Achaemenids, because the conquered peoples felt no need to revolt."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_Empire

Isn't progress wonderful?

It sounds like a case of mistaken identity. Like they don't recognize themselves in the mirror.

Islam IS a Satan cult disguising itself as a religion.

Oh my lands - whats this world coming to if I dare ask? Could it be that some youngster is listening to rock-n-roll or the blues or the big band swing?

"It's harder to raise the next generation to hate the America and the West when they're enjoying various forms of Western creativity and freedom of expression."

Let them rock on !

I read somewhere, in my local paper, I think, that skulls and skeletons are all the rage right now. When I look around, it seems to be true. It's a fad, for Pete's sake.

I've visited a few Satanist websites (some people will just hit any link, won't they?). I don't know about all of Satanism or all Satanists, but the modern ones aren't out to proselytize.

More than likely, the kids are trying to imitate Goth culture.

The only difference seems to be that the party goers call Satan by his real name, and not a phony one like "Mohammad the Prophet".

Which upsets those who don't like their Koranic power game being exposed.
