A Colorado Congressman has introduced legislation that would deny U.S. visas to advocates of so-called Sharia law, as well as expel Islamists already in the country.Republican Tom Tancredo calls his bill the Jihad Protection Act. He has introduced the measure amid disturbing revelations that the verdicts of Islamic Sharia courts are now legally binding in the United Kingdom.
The legislation, according to Tancredo, is designed to protect the United States from a similar fate.
"There are situations where we really have to look at whether or not our system can accommodate everybody, including people who are determined to overthrow us. There is no way that the Constitution of the United States and Sharia law can co-exist," Tancredo contends. "You cannot have one class of citizens -- in this case, women, for instance -- being able to be abused, battered, killed, because someone has written that that's the right way to do it in their particular religious system, and then expect the Constitution of the United States to protect everyone else's civil rights. It just simply doesn't work."
Tancredo says Great Britain and much of Western Europe has succumbed to the pressure for multi-culturalism, which the United States must avoid.

The proposition that both the letter and spirit of the American Constitution are flatly contradicted by the Sharia is easy to demonstrate. It is harder to convince people to accept that truth, because of what they would then have to start thinking about doing.

I would like to think that any law establishing sharia courts would be found, when challenged, to conflict with the "establishment clause" of the 1st Amendment.

I'm all for legislation to strengthen refusal of having sharia in the US. Close all the loopholes.
I'm no lawyer, but I know that just having someone say the pledge of allegiance when taking up citizenship wouldn't be enough.
How about making all aliens arriving in the US sign a document pledging to uphold and abide by US laws, and US laws only, and anything they do contrary to US laws, would make them deportable right away.

Why is Sharia called "law" in the first place? It is a set of arbitrary rules, derived from the claims of an individual on a sandy peninsula handed down by his succesors with a clear intent on legitimizing their grip on power.

when you really look into Shari's laws, you begin to realize it is Insane and brutal...it sets up a class system of government and despite its claims to be the best legal system for the people..it is not...

SIOE invited Congressman Tancredo to sign its anti kuffarphobia petition (http://sioeengland.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/petition-2009-un-world-conference-against-racism.pdf) to be presented at the Durban II conference in 2009.
No reply yet even though we also invited Tom Tancred to take ownership of it.
The only way to fight jihadism and islamism is to use like with like.

"Section 340(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1451(a)) is amended by inserting after the first sentence the following: `Advocating the installation of a Sharia law system in the United States shall constitute a ground for revocation of a person's naturalization under this subsection.'.

It is a hard FACT that the Kuran teaches first degree of the "unbelievers" or "infidels" (as in Surah 9.5). That alone should merit serious discussion. Note that bin Laden calls Americans "infidels" in his videotapes. I wonder why...
I have yet to see ANYONE address this fact along with the reality that innocent people need protection from this Islamic doctrine now all over the world.
Is protecting innocent people from first degree murder KOOKY now??? Or is this just "hateful" nowadays?
Maybe we should all just make first degree murder legal.... (HEY!!! It's apparently good enough for Islam!).

Here's a link to a simple contrast between Sharia and the principles of the US Constitution back in 2007. I sent printed copies of it to about 30 members of Federal and State government, including Reps. Tancredo, Pelosi, Feingold, my Representitive and my senators.
I received replies back from my republican senator, my republican rep and my state senator. The state senator wrote a personalized response that showed he'd actually read and thought about it to a large degree.
I sent it to some media types too, but don't remember all of them. In all, about fifty copies by traditional mail.
