No it should be aimed at the Islamic community because sharia goes against everything that the west and democratic countries believe. Sharia wants to segregate between Muslims and non Muslims and classify the latter as second class citizens.

In this case, I'm with the parents. The state are not the parents of our children. If Muslims don't want their kids to have mixed swimming, that is their choice.

If we allow the state to force swimming lessons, we eventually allow compulsory homosexuality indoctrination and all sorts of other stuff that parents don't want.

Sorry, but I fail to see the connection between teaching kids about homosexuality (a moral and religious issue for many people) and teaching kids swimming, whether in a mixed class or not.

Swimming is morally neutral (though also potentially lifesaving, in which case one could argue it is *moral* to teach it to all children and *immoral* to allow them to opt out of learning a skill that could one day save their lives or another's).

As for the parents' complaint that it is a "mixed" swimming class, there is absolutely no way their sons will be able to avoid mixing with women in all sorts of situations in Switzerland, not just in a swimming pool. (Are they going to remain indoors all summer while many Swiss women will no doubt be wearing shorts, miniskirts, sleeveless and/or low-cut tops, etc?) If they object morally to the sexes mixing, even in a school swimming class (what "immoral" behavior is going to occur with the teachers supervising?), they need to leave Switzerland and move to Saudi Arabia.

I'm not sure about Switzerland but in the US parents who object to the public school curriculum have the option to either home school their children or send their children to private schools. Muslim could start private schools and teach their children at their own expense. What I object to is Muslims seeking special privileges in the larger society often at the tax payers expense.

And they must do this, because they owe a duty not only to the future, that is to their own descendants, their own physical posterity. They also owe a debt to the Intelligent Past, to what was created in Europe, in literature, art, music philosophy, political thought, music, in science too -- that could not have for one minute bee created in a society where Islam dominated, and Muslims ruled. The word "kuffar" essentially means "the Ungrateful One." The Muslims use that word because they think that those who do not accept the Word of Allah, as transmitted to Muhammad in seventh-century Arabia, are showing ingratitude.

But in this particular reason for labelling the world's Non-Muslims as "kuffar" Muslims are wrong. What, however, does entitle us to label many in the Western world Kuffar" or Ingrates is that they do not recognize, often because they no longer know about, the achievements of Western civilization. If the art, the literature, the music, the philosophy, the political theories, the science, the law, the development of individual rights, are unknown or hardly known to you, then it is unlikely that you will appreciate as keenly what came before, and who did what, and how long it took, and what were the obstacles. You will take, as a given, and a given that may not interest you very much, as you occupy yourself with the trivia, the flotsam and jetsam of everyday life in the spoiled West, with its hectic vacancy, and its fashionable cults, of Diversity, of Equality (not equality before the law, which is good, but a pretend-equality of merit and ability, which is false and leads to results harmful for the transmission, and continuation, of what now many -- not ideally -- call "culture").

These are the Kuffar, these are the Ungrateful Ones. Ungrateful to those whom Keats called the Noble Living and the Noble Dead, and not even able to discern the Noble from the Ignoble who, all around us, are the ones running things, and running them right into the ground.

And nothing shows their Ingratitude more than their unwillingness, or wilful inability, to learn about Islam, to learn about the threat that Islam, and its adherents, pose to what the Western world inherited, and which its present occupants have done so little to deserve, because they give every sign of being so unwilling to defend, or even learn about, that civilizational legacy.

Just my thought..

If everything in islam goes against our culture and way of creating a well working society, that we've built up in the West, local, national and continental, it is not we who have the problem, they (the muslims) do.

Here in Denmark we have imams connected to schools with large amounts of muslim pupils. They are hired to advice the school in how to handle the muslim kids.
Muslim kids are also here in many schools exempted from specific lessons "in respect of their religion".
It is dhimmitude of the worst kind when talking about muslim kids in school.
Unfortunately our government can´t do much about it, because it is up to each local community how they handle things in their schools.

Our danish politicians could learn a thing or two by Switzerland..

Because the Swiss ones (naturalized included/understood) they constitute a small minority - for example, only 36% for burglaries, 20% for the drug trafficking and 18% for the brawls.

This is to say that the Swiss population is confronted every day with the serious consequences of foreign criminality.

This situation is the result of the irresponsible security policy followed by the coalition of center-left.

To act with all hardness necessary against the criminals to obtain a dissuasive effect, the responsible authorities are showing too often appeasement with regard to the criminals... . many times due to religious don't touch subjects attitude.

To put an end to this intolerable situation, The UDC/SVP (the people's party largest party in Switzerland) deposited on February 15, 2008 its popular initiative "for the referendum of Criminals to be deported".

This project carried out a record result since more than 232.000 citizens supported same by their signature. Many more than needed by the Referendum law.

A clear sign that the population has enough of this situation of it.

The laws and the rules of our country are valid for all: this principle must find all its value.

The Initiative from the UDC for the referendum of criminals to be deported, is an important step in the increasing foreign fight against criminality and it clarifies the situation.

Those who violate the law or which misuse Swiss social works to offer a comfortable life, must leave the country.

This popular initiative restores safety and dissuades the potential delinquents.

The enormous support that the population brought to this initiative confirms clearly that Swiss don't accept any more the current situation.
