Canadian mosque acting less than "moderate." "Mosque in hot water again," by Iain Marlow for The Star, November 17 (thanks to Patrick):
The Toronto mosque that once warned its members to avoid wishing others "Merry Christmas," equating it with murder, is once again pitted in controversy.Perhaps not with what is "written" on your website, but if such statements do not literally cause "harm" (as for "offend," they most certainly do), they lead to the "harm" of others, through the use of, not words, but swords, baseball bats, machetes and metal poles.And now the Muslim Canadian Congress is calling on Ottawa to strip the charitable status of the Somali Islamic Society of Canada, which owns the Khalid Bin Al-Walid mosque in Etobicoke, founded in 1990 and serving more than 10,000 worshippers.
Congress president Farzana Hassan said postings on the mosque's website are "in contravention of what a moderate Muslim should stand for."
Asked for specifics, Hassan cited the site's "statements about women." For example, she said, "they say female circumcision is honourable and yet they find piercing your ears reprehensible, wearing high heels reprehensible, laughing objectionable. It's very disconcerting that their priorities are where they are."
But the mosque defends its postings, arguing in a statement posted on its website that "different scholars of Islam may have differing opinions on the same subject."[...]
"We have maintained our web site to reach out to Muslims and non-Muslims alike to provide to them the authentic teachings of Islam," the mosque's administration says in the statement. "We do not seek to offend or harm anyone with what is written on our web site.[...]
It's not the first time the mosque or its board have been the subject of critical attention from other Muslim organizations that see it as extremist or ill-informed about Islam.In 2002, a mosque employee sent an email to the Khalid mosque's Internet message service on Christmas Day, warning that saying "Merry Christmas" was akin to "congratulating someone for drinking wine, or murdering someone or having illicit sexual relations and so on."

The umbrella Muslim Canadian Congress is apparently the entity bringing this radical mosque to the attention of the public. I know nothing about the group.
Does anyone know anything about the MCC, and whether or not this group might be the antithesis of CAIR, perhaps constituting the core of a truly moderate Islam in North America?

Clitoridectomy is the proper word. Circumcising the clitoris would only make the poor Moslima into a tramp, not curb her sexual desire.

Clitoridectomy is not, despite what Wikipedia may tell you, the removal of a tiny piece of skin. It is full-on excision. Anything '-ectomy' means 'the complete removal of.' There is no form of fgm that involves only the removal of a tiny piece of skin. It is always the removal of the entire clitoris.
Plus this is the Somali Society. They're advocating Type III, infibulation. There's nothing moderate about that. There's nothing moderate about undergoing this in a kitchen at the hands of some illiterate old sadist, losing enough blood 20% of the time to die, dying of infection 10% of the time, taking 10 minutes to pee for the rest of one's life, never enjoying sex, having to be cut open for sex, requiring multiple deep episiotomies to give birth, then having constant abscesses, painful periods, and a lifetime of endometriosis, which causes constant pain. Oh, and no choice in the matter. Plus, Somalis have this lovely tradition of letting all the women gather 'round and having them poke their fingers into the excised clitoral hood before they do the full-on infibulation. Nice 'traditions' thes people have.
And it's not 'circumcision.' It's MUTILATION. I hate apologists. I don't care if people feel 'stigmatized.' They should feel stigmatized enough to be furious with their parents and to sue their pants off so that the cycle of mutilation ends. If that means hurting a few feelings, whatever.

Islam is than religion that take in many different cultures group which add they own culture to Islam. the foods that make up islamist feast is very vary with hot spicely foods of the turkey, and India-Pak foods. To the arabic and north africe foods and coffee which came from islamist world. Alot of america and european foods are now apart of the islamist culture like pizza(no pork on it),coke and pepesi softdrink along with other brand name, all beef and turkey frank and all beef and turkey handerburger meat. Some islamist culture donot allow woman to piece they ears and some allow it. In our mosque we have many different islamist sects and culture useing it in peace. We have some new america citizen from Saudi Arabic than mother,with 2 sons and 2 daughter going to the mosque for the past few years.

No Islam is not a religion of many cultures. It is a religion of rape, murder, child pedophile like their prophet Mohammad. The foods they give to non Muslims has been tainted with the feces of Muhammadans like the cafe in England. These Mohammedans are always looking for ways to kill non Muslims. They mutilate women's genitals and get a kick out of it. They bomb and kill non Muslim women and children and get a kick out of it. Theirs is a violent oppressive and sick culture with hatred towards non Muslims and women. They worship a thug and criminal Mohammad and the blood thirst god allah.

Those who name a mosque after one of Muhammad's ruthless imperialist henchmen, i.e., Khalid bin Walid--someone whom even Muhammad himself had to restrain from time to time--do not likely hold good intentions toward the host non-Muslim nation in which that mosque is positioned.
About Khalid bin Walid, Benjamin Walker writes:
"A wine-lover and lustful debaucher, Khalid took sickly sadistic delight in beheading a defeated chieftain on the battle-field, selecting his wife (if young) or daughter and celebrating his nuptials with her on the spot soaked with the blood of the victim (father/husband of the bride)." [Benjamin Walker, Foundations of Islam, p. 316.]
Rape? Slaughter of captives? Wine-drinking? All are permitted in jihad in the cause of Allah, and I suspect those who named the Khalid bin al-Walid mosque are well aware of of that.

What is done to the genitalia of women, in the name of Islam, is nothing short of one of the most cruel of atrocities. And anyone who advocates, defends, or makes excuses for such vileness is beyond the reach of reason as far as I'm concerned.

The MCC were very active in the (thus far successful) movement to stop sharia family law being introduced into Canada. They also supported Steyn and Maclean's in that HRC case, and they oppose the Islamist groups such as the CIC. Some members of the MCC have been declared apostates and have been threatened with death. Overall, they are about as genuine as a moderate Muslim group can be. There is however a certain amount of confusion created by this moderate Muslim group (and others like them) because they do engage in some Islam apologetics. Hence there benefits and costs that come with dealing with such moderates.

This one gets filed under sexual hangups, which is the biggest problem of Islam. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out, since Islam treats females like subhumans, telling them to cover up, and stay at home with no freedom to go out in public.
As an aside, there is no place for Islam in Canada or any other part of the western world, since Islam is anti-western.
