Why just two years? Do the Germans really think that by two years down the line, these battle-hardened warriors of Allah will have forgotten all about jihad? If they went to Syria to wage jihad in order to impose Sharia, they want it in Europe as well. They should not be allowed back at all.

"Germany calls for two-year ban on Europeans returning to the EU from Syria over fears suspected Islamists will come back as 'homegrown terrorists,'" by Kerry Mcdermott in the Daily Mail, May 17 (thanks to Block Ness):

Germany has called for Europeans fighting the Assad regime in Syria to be temporarily barred from re-entering the EU - amid fears they could return as 'homegrown terrorists'. The German government has claimed as many as 700 Europeans have joined opposition forces fighting President Bashar al-Assad's soldiers, and warned militant Islamists could pose a threat upon returning to the EU from the battlefields of Syria.

Now the country, which has said it is aware of up to 40 people who have left Germany for Syria since the summer of 2012, wants to see suspected Islamists banned from re-entering the EU from Syria for two years.

Germany's interior minister, Hans-Peter Friedrich, is expected to address the controversial suggestion at a meeting of EU governments next month, according to a report in the Guardian.

Officials at the ministry said that of 6,000 foreign militants believed to be fighting the Assad regime, between 400 and 700 are European.

Fighters could not be prevented from leaving Germany in the first place because it was impossible to prove they were going to Syria, the ministry said, adding that while passports could be confiscated, it was possible to travel to the Syrian border with just an ID card.

It is not clear how the proposed ban would be enforced, as the individuals involved would likely have EU passports as well as jobs and families in the countries concerned.

Up to 60 militants have also left Germany for Egypt, the interior ministry said.

'Most have joined the Islamists. The dangers are growing for us,' a senior official was quoted as saying.

A survey by King's College London found last month that up to 600 individuals from countries including the UK, Spain, Sweden and Germany had taken part in the Syrian conflict since the war erupted in 2011. The largest contingent was from the UK.

Jihad terrorism is just what it should be focusing upon. German officials should be challenging the Muslim leaders in Germany to back up their vague condemnations of terrorism with real action against the promotion of jihad violence in their communities. They should be challenging them to reject and teach against the supremacist doctrines that call for Muslims to work to replace the infidel form of government with Sharia. They should be telling them that they must discard the elements of Sharia that contradict freedoms guaranteed under the German constitution. But even what is undoubtedly the German government's defanged and politically approach to terrorism in this "dialogue" with Muslim leaders is enough to rile those leaders, who want the conference to be exclusively about concessions to the Muslims from the government.

"‘Terrorism’ Irks German Islam Conference," from OnIslam, May 4:

CAIRO – Repeating earlier years’ dilemma, a government-sponsored conference on Muslims in Germany has sparked a storm of criticism for focusing on terrorism as a key subject rather than promoting dialogue between the government and the Muslim minority.

“The conference only makes sense as a dialogue with Muslim religious communities,” Erol Pürlü of the Association of Islamic Cultural Centers (VIKZ) which says it represents 300 Muslim communities nationwide, told the Süddeutsche Zeitung in a report cited by The Local.de.

Taking place next week, the agenda of the German Islamic Conference has drawn the criticism of Muslim leaders across Germany.

The agenda, drafted by the interior ministry, puts terrorism as a key topic for talks.

Though his organization has accepted its invitation to attend, Pürlü made it clear that expectations were low.

Kenan Kolat, chairman of Germany’s Association of Turkish Communities (TGD), voiced similar concern.

“In its current form, it no longer has any purpose,” he said.

The conference was established by then-interior minister Wolfgang Schäuble in 2006 to improve the working relationship between the government and Muslim communities.

Topics discussed at subsequent meetings have included plans to put Islam on an equal footing with the Church, as well as Muslim religious education and the construction of mosques.

Though it was first proposed with the aim of promoting dialogue between the government and Muslim communities, the event has witnessed a loss of support over stalled talks and lack of progress.

Making a shift towards issues of security, several prominent Muslim organizations have pulled out of the talks in the past two years.

Aiman Mazyek, chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany said the conference needed an overhaul.

Ali Kizilkaya, chairman of the Islamic Council of Germany, described the conference as a “train travelling in the wrong direction.”

AP calls them "German-Iranian dual nationals." In what sense were they German, beyond legal technicalities? What kinship or loyalty did they have to their adopted country? From the looks of this, they were in Germany to aid the Iranian jihad, aided by a non-Muslim whose care was apparently only for the bottom line. "Germany Charges 4 With Sending Iran Reactor Parts," from the Associated Press, April 29:

BERLIN (AP) — Federal prosecutors say they have charged three German-Iranian dual nationals and a German man with breaking export laws for allegedly supplying Iran with parts needed to build a nuclear reactor in violation of the country's trade embargo.

Prosecutors said in a statement Monday suspect Hamid Kh., 80, set up contact for Gholamali Ka., 70, and his son Kianzad Ka., 25, with German businessman Rudolf M., 78, whose Thuringia firm produced valves needed for a nuclear reactor's construction. Their last names were not released in accordance with German privacy laws.

The group is accused of supplying Iran with 92 German-made valves, and another 856 Indian-made valves, in 2010 and 2011.

They're accused of supplying the parts through front companies in other countries in deals worth millions of euros in total.

"Hang on a second, I'm gonna grab a soda --"

"Nooooooooooooo!!!!!"

"Hidden in the Fridge: Police Overlook Explosives in Salafist's Home," from Spiegel Online, March 25 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Police in Bonn have destroyed evidence found in an Islamist's apartment that could have linked the suspect to an attempted bombing at the city's central train station, in what appears to be a major misstep in their investigation.

On March 13, authorities raided the Bonn apartment of Marco G., 25, on suspicion of planning to assassinate the leader of the anti-Islam right-wing extremist group Pro-NRW. On the same day, police also arrested three other suspects in the case identified as Tayfun S., 23; Enea B., 43; and Koray D, 24. All four are adherents to Salafism, an ultra-conservative branch of Islam.

The raid of G.'s apartment uncovered a Ceska pistol and 616 grams of ammonium nitrate. However, police managed to overlook something.

While in custody, Marco G. asked a social worker to tell his wife not to go near the fridge because there was risk of an explosion. Police returned to the apartment two days later with a bomb disposal unit and discovered more explosive material in the fridge.

The police promptly took the explosives to a nearby open space, placed it in a hole in the ground and conducted a controlled explosion -- without first taking samples of the material for testing. A team of specialists and bomb analysts are now trying to determine the chemical make-up of the material with the ashes left over from the explosion....

The cost of misunderstanding what everyone knows (on pain of charges of "Islamophobia") continues to mount, and yet no Muslim groups in the West have any program to teach young Muslims the true, peaceful Islam we all must believe in (again, on pain of charges of "Islamophobia") but which no one has actually ever seen.

"German authorities move against Islamic extremists," by David Rising for the Associated Press, March 13 (thanks to all who sent this in):

BERLIN – German authorities banned three ultraconservative Islamic groups Wednesday and separately announced they had foiled a suspected assassination attempt by Islamic extremists against a prominent far-right politician.

The groups banned included one whose Internet propaganda videos helped inspire the extremist who killed two American airmen at Frankfurt airport in 2011, the country's domestic intelligence chief said.

Police launched early morning raids on 21 apartments and one meeting room belonging to DawaFFM, Islamic Audios and al-Nussrah, all of which adhere to the hardcore conservative Salafi interpretation of Islam.

The groups were largely involved in recruitment, fundraising and propaganda, including videos and other postings urging people to fight against those who did not believe in their version of Islam, said Hans-Georg Maassen, the head of Germany's domestic intelligence service, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

"These organizations are oriented against the basic right to freedom of religion, against Christians and other faiths, including Shiites," Maassen said.

For example, he said, in one DawaFFM YouTube posting, an Arabic speaker told Shiite Muslims: "If the Prophet Muhammad heard your words he'd hack off your hands and feet and banish you from the earth."

That punishment -- the hacking off of hands and feet -- is prescribed for those who make war against Allah and his messenger (Muhammad) in Qur'an 5:33.

It was also DawaFFM YouTube videos and Facebook postings that helped radicalize Arid Uka, the lone-wolf attacker who killed two U.S. airmen and injured two others at the Frankfurt Airport in 2011, Maassen said.

Uka was convicted of murder last year and sentenced to life in prison.

In an operation unrelated to the ban on the groups, police arrested four men overnight on suspicion of planning to murder the leader of a far-right fringe party known as pro-NRW.

Two of them men were arrested in a vehicle near the home of Markus Beisicht in the western city of Leverkusen, police said in a statement. Two other men were arrested when police searched private properties in Essen and Bonn, where a firearm and "material suitable for the manufacture of explosives" were also found.

"The men are considered part of the Salafi scene," police said.

The Salafi movement in Germany has been growing quickly, attracting both Muslims and converts, primarily men between ages 20 and 30. In 2011 there were some 3,800 people Salafis known to authorities and there are now some 4,500.

Some 70 percent are Germans and 30 percent are non-Germans, coming from a variety of nations including Turkey, Morocco and Bosnia, according to a security official who was only allowed to discuss the figures on condition of anonymity. About a quarter are Muslim converts.

They have been under close observation since 2010, but that was stepped up further last year after they clashed with police in Bonn last year at a pro-NRW demonstration.

Following the incident, a known German-born terrorist who is now based in Pakistan's border area with Afghanistan called on Salafis in Germany to kill members of pro-NRW as well as employees of Der Spiegel magazine, which printed photos of the demonstrators holding signs showing caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.

"We have determined that in the past year the Salafis have begun acting not only aggressively and militantly in their prayer rooms or on the Internet but also violently on the streets," Maassen said....

Are you sensing a pattern?

This week:

#MyJihad in Kentucky: Two Muslims sentenced to prison dawah for plot to export aircraft to Iran

#MyJihad in Texas: Two Muslims arrested for misunderstanding Islam, shipping $12 million worth of computers to Iran

"Report: Iranians with nuclear components arrested," by Ariel ben Solomon for the Jerusalem Post, March 11 (thanks to Mackie):

Germany and Turkey arrested seven suspected Iranian smugglers who were transporting materials for that country’s nuclear program from India and Germany, according to a UPI report about an article in the Turkish Haberturk newspaper.

The components were to be delivered to the Iranian nuclear facility in Arak, Iran.

According to the report, Turkey apprehended two of the suspects at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport. One was an Iranian with Turkish citizenship and the other was an Iranian, who was suspected of being one of the leaders of the operation.

Security officials also captured a trove of documents related to the operation.

Germany arrested five Iranians, according to the report.

All together it is estimated that the smugglers shipped 900 deliveries of nuclear material to Iran using front companies in Turkey. The search continues for others suspects.

This follows a report in February by The Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) that Iran was trying to smuggle magnet components for its nuclear program from China.

The Turks are irked by the infidel Germans who have come to their aid. Clearly the rapidly re-Islamizing Turks desire no help from the dirty kuffar. "Bundeswehr 'bullied' by Turkish troops," from The Local, March 3 (thanks to BD):

German troops deployed on the Turkish-Syrian border are being badly treated by their Turkish hosts and NATO partners, a government report said over the weekend.

A majority of the 400 German troops sent to Turkey in December as part of a NATO mission deploying Patriot anti-aircraft missiles to defend the Syrian border said Turkish soldiers did not treat them as welcome guests and were “rarely helpful,” wrote Der Spiegel magazine on Saturday.

Not only that, but the soldiers often felt they were being persecuted by the Turkish army on purpose, according to a report presented to parliament on Friday.

Cooperation between the Bundeswehr soldiers and local forces is “overwhelmingly perceived as problematic,” wrote parliamentary commissioner for the armed forces Hellmut Königshaus, who has just returned from an inspection of the troops.

A general ban means Turkish troops are not allowed to make any contact with the Germans and will be immediately disciplined if they do. Meanwhile, the Germans have only been granted restricted movement outside the camp in Kahramanmaras - confined to a "Green Zone" in the centre of town, said the report.

German military police said they had been told they must keep a low profile and are not allowed to carry weapons outside camp or drive in their khaki jeeps, wrote Königshaus.

There's a recipe for their being picked off by their Turkish "allies."

Bundeswehr soldiers said conditions in the camp were unacceptable, with toilets in the main headquarters said to have been at times knee-high in faeces. Turkish customs also often prevented the military postal delivery from arriving for days or even weeks, they said.

Königshaus also reported several incidents of bad treatment against the Germans by the Turkish commanding officer in charge of the barracks, wrote the magazine.

Ahead of a visit by German Defence Minister Thomas de Maizière at the end of February, for example, the officer ordered the Germans to take down all German flags in the camp, and told them it was still a Turkish barrack.

Just before the minister arrived, a young German military policewoman attempted to block a road for the minister's convoy. She stopped a limousine carrying the commanding officer - a general in the Turkish army.

German soldiers who witnessed the incident said the commanding officer then flew into a rage and started a shoving match with the woman, which escalated until troops stepped in to protect her. Several injuries later documented by a doctor support this version of events, which the magazine said differed in tone to the official version....

Minority German Children Bullied by Muslims in Their Own Schools
by Enza Ferreri

Just published on YouTube is a shocking video (above) of discrimination against German and Christian children in German schools. They are severely bullied by Muslim kids in a school where immigrant children are an astonishing 96 percent. Hardly anybody speaks to them, they become introvert. They are outcasts, not integrated into the schools of their own land.

The reporter investigating this shameful situation interviews a boy who tells her how he was chased and attacked for saying that he does not believe in God, and a girl who says she is regularly insulted for being a Christian and called "You shit Christian".

The problem is not addressed by the school staff or the education authorities. The teachers even refuse to talk to the journalist in the video.

Indigenous and Christian children then become fearful even of reporting that they have been bullied to the teachers, not knowing how they will react (maybe they'll be called "racist"?).

The school councillor interviewed in the video admits that this causes real problems in children, like academic failure and refusal to return to school, and yet teachers are afraid to discuss it openly and reproach the Muslim bullies, lest they come "under immediate general suspicion of being against foreigners": and that's obviously anathema to them.

Cultural Marxists and liberals prefer to let their children grow up shy and socially inept than to risk fomenting "xenophobia" by openly discussing this scandal. They seem to be prepared to throw even their kids under the bus.

Some families move away closer to a different school. Do native Europeans have to leave their homes and cities to make way for Muslim immigrants? Many British people choose to go and live abroad and not just for the climate. Is this the future of Europe, or lack thereof?

The last kid interviewed in the video describes his plans for the future thus: "Move away from here to where there are Germans living and where one is left in peace".

Germany's Family Minister Kristina Schröder aknowledged the existence of this issue of children being bullied in schools just for being German as part of "a growing tendency to violence stemming from a 'macho culture' among young Muslim men".

The problem was highlighted in 2010 in the city of Essen by the German TV channel Das Erste:

"They're not threatened with a knife every day. but the children of immigration background clearly have their way here," says the school principal. The female teachers have to deal with students saying "don't speak to her, she's just a German slut."

"When it's Ramadan, there's a state of emergency. The last time it went so far, that they spit in our food," says the home-economics teacher. "People always say that foreigners are discriminated, but here it's precisely the other way around." A Lebanese Arabic teacher says that the German way of living is very clearly being rejected by his students, the attitude is almost chic.

The German children respond with aggression or by over-adapting their behavior. In the playground you find them in the corners. Sebastian, an ethnic German 16 year old, feels bullied by the Muslim students, and is often involved in fights. Juli is a friend of the devout Saleh from Palestine. She calls herself a Muslims, which means: no parties, no alcohol, no sex.

The teachers try to respond to the situation with clarity and by upholding German laws and regulations, but also by mother-tongue classes and understanding for the Lebanese.

We just saw Westerners among those who carried out the jihad massacres at the Algerian gas plant. So apparently recruitment efforts like those of these men sometimes pay off. We have seen again and again in accounts of jihad recruitment that recruiters like Ocak and Lodin appeal to their targets on Islamic grounds, quoting the Qur'an, invoking Muhammad's example, and trying to awaken in them a sense of Islamic duty. Yet this is the one element of the appeal that non-Muslim counterterror analysts are forbidden to examine.

"2 convicted of al-Qaida membership in Germany," from the Associated Press, January 25 (thanks to Lookmann):

BERLIN (AP) — A German and an Austrian have been convicted of membership in al-Qaida and sentenced to several years in prison.

Yusuf Ocak, 27, from Luebeck, Germany, was also convicted of being a founding member of the German Taliban Mujahideen and was sentenced to 9 years in prison. Maqsood Lodin, 23, an Austrian of Afghan background, was sentenced to 6 years 9 months.

Both can appeal.

The pair met in July 2010 in Pakistan's Waziristan region and were assigned by al-Qaida to collect money and recruit members for the terrorist group in Europe upon returning there in the spring of 2011. Ocak also posted a threat video on the internet in 2009....

Dawah in Eurabia -- and what an attractive presentation for Islam these two Muslims made. Who wouldn't have converted under the circumstances?

"Suspected Islamic extremists attack Indian student in Germany," from the Associated Press, December 27 (thanks to Lookmann):

BERLIN (AP) - Police say an Indian student in Germany has been attacked and injured by suspected Islamic extremists who accosted him and demanded that he convert to Islam.

Police spokesman Frank Piontek said on Thursday that two attackers in the western German city of Bonn severely beat the 24-year-old and then slashed his tongue with a knife.

Police say the attackers walked up to the student in a city street late on Monday and demanded that he convert to Islam - then beat him up after he refused to do so.

Confirmation of the obvious: the bomb left in the Bonn train station was an attempt at yet more jihad mass murder. More on this story. "Federal prosecutors link Bonn bomb plot to Islamist terrorism," from DW, December 15:

Federal prosecutors in Germany have taken over the investigation into a failed bomb plot at the Bonn central station. They say the incident was likely an attempt by an Islamist organization to commit an act of terror.

The announcement on Friday from the German federal public prosecutors' office in Karlsruhe confirms that Monday's bomb scare is being treated as an attempted terror attack, bringing the investigation under federal jurisdiction. The investigation was previously being led by district prosecutors in Bonn.

A statement released by the prosecutor's office on Friday said that there were "plenty of leads indicating the events were an attempt at a bomb attack by a terrorist organization with radical Islamist influences."

Disaster averted

The prosecutor's office said it would utilize the Federal Criminal Police Agency (BKA) to conduct the investigation and that the BKA would create a special structural organization to that end.

In a recap of the facts in the case so far, the prosecutor's office said that a man left a sports bag on one of the platforms at the main train station in Bonn early in the afternoon on Monday. The bag contained a prepared explosive device. An initial investigation of the device revealed it consisted of a metal pipe approximately 40 cm (15.7 inches) long that contained ammonium nitrate. Compressed gas cartridges were wrapped around the pipe, as were a timer and batteries meant to serve as an ignition device.

Regarding the suspect, prosecutors said there were "credible indications that the suspect was connected to radical Islamist groups" and was therefore being sought for "attempting to carry out an explosive attack as a member of a terrorist organization."...

Will the Islamophobia never end? "Bonn bomb scare cops 'hunting Salafists,'" from The Local, December 11 (thanks to Elias):

German security officials on Tuesday said one man had been arrested amid a police investigation into a Salafist terrorist connection to a suspected explosive device found at the Bonn train station.

Bild newspaper reported that it had inside information that school children had identified two Salafists known as terror suspects as those who had left the blue sports bag at platform one of the station on Monday.

And Focus magazine's website said on Tuesday afternoon that one man had been arrested while making his way to his lawyer in Bonn. Security sources told the DPA newswire they expected the federal prosecutor and the federal criminal police to take over the case.

The police have not commented on either report, saying only that they were keeping a completely open mind as to who might have been responsible.

Bonn's main train station was closed for much of Monday in the bomb scare, which saw explosives experts use a water cannon to smash it to bits.

Examination of the pieces showed the bag contained metal holders filled with powder which could have been explosive, although no detonator was found.

On Tuesday the police said they were conducting a state-wide search across North Rhine-Westphalia, but offered no details of who their targets might be. "We are completely open in our investigation," a spokesman said.

Good. Find those Lutheran extremists!

But Bild newspaper said two Salafist terrorist suspects known to operate under the names Dahir and Buh were thought to have been responsible, and were being sought across the country....

Although pro-jihad propagandists routinely smear counter-jihadists as somehow akin to Nazis, the real convergence is between Nazis and jihadists, going all the way back to Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem, who lived in Berlin and made Arabic pro-Nazi broadcasts during World War II. Today neo-Nazis favor the global jihad, and many Nazis convert to Islam.

"German Neo-Nazi turned jihadist who went to fight in Afghanistan admits he made a 'big mistake' after wife misses supermarkets and her mobile phone," by Sam Webb in the Daily Mail, November 3 (thanks to Anne Crockett):

A former neo-Nazi who joined the Taliban and attacked an American base near the Afghan-Pakistan border has told a German court that he made a 'terrible mistake'.

The German man, who was only named as Thomas U, spoke of his regret over signing up for the German Taliban Mujahidin (DTM) and travelling with his wife to the war-torn Afgfhan-Pakistan border to become a terrorist, according to The Times.

His catalogue of complaints over his poorly thought-out decision included his fellow combatants' drug habits, a lack of hygiene, contracting hepititis A and his friends being horribly killed by Pakistani forces helicopters.

His wife also missed creature comforts such as shopping at the supermarket and her mobile phone.

The couple escaped to Istanbul, Turkey, in 2010 after his wife became pregnant and were immediately arrested. She gave birth in a Turkish prison.

Thomas U, 27, is accused of being a member of the DTM from December 2009 until July 10 and taking part in an attack on an American base.

He paid 5000 euros to travel to the Afghan-Pakistan border in 2009 and was trained in the use of firearms and explosives.

He even appeared in a Taliban propaganda video and boasted that the attack had 'disrupted the Christmas spirit' of the American base.

But in April 2010 DTM's German co-founder Eric Breininger and a Dutch national only named as Danny R were killed in an attack by Pakistani forces and the failed terrorist became disillusioned with violence and came to regret his choices....

In a court statement he said: 'It was a terrible experience. I was shocked at the lack of hygiene, people were spitting and vomiting.

'My wife was very unhappy because traditionally women are treated badly.'

After the couple escaped, he spoke of his relief at escaping the hellish conditions he had endured.

'Finally I could hold hands with my wife in public,' he said.

Treason. Or multiculturalism. "German Islamists Target Youth on the Internet," by Christoph Sydow for Spiegel, November 1 (thanks to Benedict):

A growing community of German-speaking Islamists has developed on the Internet. Aiming to find new recruits, they glorify jihad and call for attacks on Germany. A new study warns that such online propaganda might foster a new generation of terrorists. Info

As a rapper, Denis Cuspert was a bit player, but as a propagandist for jihad he is a star in some circles. He has gained considerable prominence since 2010, when he transformed himself from a Berlin hip-hop artist named Deso Dogg into the Islamist Abu Malik.

Actually, not much has changed since he became a Salafist. He still makes music, and distributes it primarily through the Internet. But instead of performing rap songs like "Gangxta" and "Ich und mein Baby" ("Me and My Baby"), he releases so-called Anasheed, or Islamic vocal music in which he glorifies jihad.

Cuspert's songs have attained cult status among radical Islamists in Germany. At the request of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Berlin, three of his jihadist songs were labeled as being harmful to minors in early 2012.

Today, the ex-rapper is one of the most prominent German-speaking propagandists for jihad on the Internet. A new study by the Berlin-based Foundation for Science and Politics (SWP), which advises the German government, addresses the development of the Islamist scene on the Internet in detail for the first time.

Sophisticated Websites

International terrorist groups like al-Qaida recognized the importance of the Internet for recruiting new supporters early on. But it wasn't until the end of 2005 that the German arm of the "Global Islamic Media Front" (GIMF), which saw itself as the mouthpiece for all jihadists worldwide, emerged.

The German offshoot of GIMF was founded by Mohamed Mahmoud, an Austrian with Egyptian roots. In addition to Cuspert, Mahmoud is still one of the most colorful figures in the German Islamist community. Mahmoud quickly attracted the attention of authorities when he began spreading al-Qaida propaganda on the Internet in 2005.

After GIMF posted a video in March 2007 threatening possible attacks in Germany and Austria, Mahmoud and his wife were arrested. Because he had used his own computer to place the video on the Internet, all Austrian authorities had to do was establish the connection between Mahmoud and the computer's IP address.

After his release in September of last year, Mahmoud quickly joined his new friend Cuspert in Berlin. Soon thereafter, the two men went to the western German city of Solingen, where Mahmoud transformed the Millatu Ibrahim Mosque into a nationally known meeting place for Salafists.

But the Internet remained far more important than the mosque. Mahmoud, Cuspert and their supporters have set up sophisticated websites. "Especially noteworthy are the high degree of technical professionalism and the targeted use of elements of current youth culture," the SWP study, published on Wednesday, concludes.

According to the study, shutting down the websites and arresting the people behind them will hardly curb the growing number of Salafists in Germany. On the contrary, Mahmoud only developed into "a star in the scene" as a result of having spent time in prison. After the federal government banned Mahmoud's Millatu Ibrahim group in June, its website was shut down, but new blogs and sites soon popped up to spread the same messages.

Mahmoud, Cuspert and their cohorts depend on these sites to stay in touch with their supporters in Germany. In the wake of the Millatu Ibrahim ban and growing police pressure on the Salafists following bloody clashes at a rally in Cologne, Mahmoud and Cuspert, together with many other key figures in the German Islamist community, have disappeared and have presumably fled to Egypt.

Cuspert made another Internet appearance in September, with threats of attacks in Germany. "You spend millions and billions for the war against Islam," he said in a video. "And that's why this country, the Federal Republic of Germany, is a war zone."...

It is outrageous enough that the Egyptians would make this request. If the Germans do as they ask, they will be accepting the primacy of Sharia over German law. "Egypt Coptic Christian Maikel Nabil charged with 'insulting' Islam, Germany requested to send home," by Joseph Mayton for Bikyamasr, September 30:

CAIRO: Egyptian Coptic Christian activist Maikel Nabil, who is known internationally as the first prisoner of conscience in the post-Hosni Mubarak Egypt after the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) jailed him for “insulting the military” now faces charges of insulting Islam, he reported on Saturday while in Germany.

The Egyptian government have requested that the German government return Nabil as soon as possible so he can stand on the charges, Egypt’s Youm al-Saba’a newspaper reported.

He is being accused of “contempt of the Islamic religion and abuse of the divine.” Also among the charges, the newspaper reported are “insulting the Prophet and his followers.”

The lawsuit against Nabil says that he “consistently” insults Islam through his online activities, including his Twitter account.

It is unclear if Germany will respond to the request or if Nabil will return to the country in the near future as he now faces charges that could see him return to prison.

So what are they supposed to do? Not fight jihad, because fighting jihad will only lead to more jihad? Apparently they have decided to stay quiet and hope they will be OK. "Germany postpones posters aimed at countering radical Islam," by Chris Cottrell for Reuters, September 20 (thanks to Twostellas):

Germany’s Interior Ministry has postponed at the last minute a poster campaign advertising a hotline aimed at countering radical Islam because of fears it could have incited violence by extremists....

The posters had been due to go up in German cities with large immigrant populations from Friday. They were aimed at those who suspected that a friend or family member might be drifting towards radical Islam.

“With everything that is going on right now, we’re afraid that it wouldn’t take much to trigger more religiously motivated violence,” an interior ministry spokesman said.

“We’re talking specifically about fanatic individuals who could use events they perceive as being Islamophobic as an opportunity to take action.” The spokesman said the ministry had no reason to believe such an attack was imminent.

Protesters angered by the California-made film stormed the German embassy in Sudan on Friday and Berlin withdrew some staff.

Sudan had criticized Germany for allowing a protest last month by far-right activists carrying caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad and also for giving an award to a Danish cartoonist whose depiction of the Prophet in 2005 sparked global protests.

Some Muslim groups had criticized the planned poster campaign because they said it stigmatized them....

Of course.

Now wait a minute. Aren't we all supposed to believe, on pain of charges of "Islamophobia," that the vast majority of peaceful Muslims abhor jihad terrorism and support law enforcement efforts to root out jihad terrorists from their midst?

"German Muslims say anti-militant posters offensive," by Chris Cottrell for Reuters, September 5 (thanks to David):

(Reuters) - A poster campaign by Germany's Interior Ministry to advertise a hotline for those worried that a friend or family member may be turning to radical Islam has incensed some Muslims who say it stigmatizes them.

Germany, home to four million Muslims, has become increasingly concerned about home-grown Islamic militants over the past decade after Hamburg served as a base for three of the September 11 suicide airline hijackers in 2001.

Officials are especially worried about the ease with which individuals can be recruited over the Internet by extremists. Last year a young Kosovo Albanian Muslim shot dead two U.S. airmen at Frankfurt airport after being radicalized online.

In the new campaign, posters showing four fictitious missing persons - 'Hassan', 'Fatima', German convert 'Tim' and 'Ahmed' - will be displayed in Arabic, Turkish and German in major cities with big immigrant populations from September 21.

"This is my brother Hassan. I miss him and hardly recognize him anymore," one poster reads.

"He has become reclusive and gets more radical every day. I'm afraid of losing him completely to religious fanatics and terrorist groups. If you're experiencing something similar, contact the information center for radicalization," it says.

Critics fear the campaign could fuel stereotypes of Muslims.

"Muslims are always regarded as a potential threat," said Aydan Oezoguz, a Turkish-German member of parliament and integration commissioner for the opposition Social Democrats.

"This is a very important issue, but it risks alienating an entire religious community," Oezoguz added.

The Interior Ministry says the campaign was crafted with the help of Muslim interest groups as part of a larger initiative to improve ties between security agencies and Muslim communities.

"FALSE PERCEPTIONS"

However, four of the six interest groups involved in the confidence-building initiative have since withdrawn their support.

"Constantly associating Islam with issues of violence and security policy can only lead to false perceptions," the groups said in a joint statement....

Erol Puerlue from the Association of Muslim Cultural Centres, one of the groups involved in the initiative, said too much focus was placed on extremism among Muslims rather than in German society as a whole.

"Addressing extremism only among Muslims risks putting them under a general suspicion," he said, adding that more classes on religion in schools would be a more effective way of combating radicalization among young people.

"We also have to talk about protecting Muslims. They can fall victim to extremism too," said Puerlue.

Yes. There are just so many Bible-quoting Christian terrorists.

The savages also threatened to kill her. "Rabbi beating sparks fury in Germany," by Yannick Pasquet for AFP, August 30 (thanks to David):

The brutal daylight beating of a rabbi in front of his six-year-old daughter sparked furious condemnation in Germany Thursday, with some Jewish groups saying they feared a rise in anti-Semitic behaviour.

The attack on the 53-year-old by four youths, thought to be Arabs, left him hospitalised and the Jewish community outraged, already up in arms over a court ruling in western Germany that outlaws religious circumcision.

One youth smashed the rabbi in the face several times after asking him if he was Jewish, apparently because he was wearing a traditional head covering, police said.

The assailants fled, but not before aiming death threats at the young girl, according to authorities, who have launched an investigation into the Tuesday attack.

Berlin rabbi Andreas Nachama told AFP that Germany had seen over the past few years "a rising hostility towards Jews due to the conflict in the Middle East."

"Verbal attacks against Jews have increased," said Gideon Joffe, head of the Jewish Community of Berlin, in an interview with local daily Tagesspiegel.

Meanwhile, the rector of the Abraham Geiger College in Berlin, an academic seminary for rabbis, warned his students against wearing the yarmulke, or traditional Jewish head covering.

"If you are no longer seen as a Jewish person, you are safer," Walter Homolka told Friday's edition of the Berliner Morgenpost daily.

Another Berlin-based rabbi, Walter Rothschild, told German radio: "I have been spat on in broad daylight in (the central Berlin square of) Wittenbergplatz and had slogans linked to the Middle East shouted at me."...

Feeding children during Ramadan: a grave sin. Breaking someone's fingers for wanting to feed children during Ramadan: pleasing to Allah: "Righteous women are therefore obedient, guarding the secret for God's guarding. And those you fear may be rebellious admonish; banish them to their couches, and beat them." -- Qur'an 4:34.

"Berlin: Somali Breaks Wife's Fingers Because She Wanted to Feed Children During Ramadan," by Cheradenine Zakalwe for Islam Versus Europe, August 27 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Ramadan is over but the war stories keep coming in.
A 24-year-old man broke two of his wife's fingers after a dispute on Saturday. [The story is dated 20th August]. As the Northern Police Directorate in Neuruppin communicated, the woman wanted to give her two small children something to eat during the fasting month of Ramadan. That did not suit the husband, who is of the Islamic faith, and he forbade it using violence. The police referred the 24-year-old to the community accommodation in Stolpe-Süd in the Hennigsdorf district. The woman was given medical treatment as an out-patient.

m6.jpegWorth killing for

The worst part about this is that the West will continue trying to curtail the freedom of speech to avoid offending lunatics like this, instead of telling the Islamic world that to react with violent rage to a few cartoons is madness. "Egypt arrests man after nail bomb attack on German embassy," from Reuters, August 22 (thanks to David):

(Reuters) - Police in Egypt on Wednesday arrested a man who tossed four homemade nail bombs into the German embassy grounds and attacked the entrance with a hammer but injured nobody and caused no serious damage, the embassy and security sources said.

The man acted out of anger after reading an Egyptian newspaper report on Friday which described a protest by German right-wing activists who had paraded caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad in front of a German mosque, they said.

Many Muslims consider any depiction of the Prophet to be offensive - a series of cartoons in a Danish newspaper in 2005 on the same subject sparked protests across the Islamic world.

"It was just one person who attacked the embassy and damaged the glass of the entrance with a hammer," said a spokeswoman for the German embassy. "There was no major damage and no one hurt."...

Oh, well, then it's OK.
