I asked the question just a few days ago: have you ever noticed that Islamic supremacist spokesmen in the U.S., including those who claim to be "moderate," are generally arrogant, foul-mouthed creeps whose idea of a discussion is to hurl adolescent insults? A few years back the Islamic supremacist pseudo-moderate and media darling Reza Aslan demonstrated this vividly when he sent me a series of emails full of abuse more worthy of a sixth-grade playground than what one would expect from the serious academic he claims to be.

I got such a kick out of them, and out of his ridiculous attempts to distance himself from them by claiming that they were automated, that I posted them as a free verse poem to go into the literary anthology that he was hawking at the time.

Now a Jihad Watch reader has asked Aslan about them. Aslan first tries to deflect the question by trotting out the same old tired smears (SPLC! ADL!), and then lies outright by claiming I sent him "about hundred abusive emails" -- and yet he produces none of the emails, because he can't, because they don't exist.

The reader is right: the abuse is unworthy of what one would and should expect from a scholar of Aslan's stature. But that's just the thing: Aslan doesn't hold his academic position because of the quality of his scholarship. The guy is completely out of his depth -- witness his basic grammatical errors below, and astounding errors of fact such as his claim that Turkey is the second most populous Muslim country (it's actually the seventh most populous, in terms of Muslim population). Aslan is lionized and respected because he holds the proper politically correct opinions: contempt for America, hatred for Israel, and endless justification for Islamic supremacists and jihadists. In our debased age, an immature mediocrity like Reza Aslan can rise very high, as long as he tells the Leftist elites what they want to hear.

But it does seem unlikely that a scholar like yourself should have descended to such crude abuse that Robert Spencer quotes. Did he make them up?

On the other hand, it is surely quite unbelievable that those abusive emails (if they exist) were generated by some personalised automatic system. Surely we do not have the technology to do this!

That is what interested me. Do you think that Spencer made up the reply from your associate Roshi?

So you are saying that you did actually send him the abusive emails and that you or your associate made up the 'automated' tag as a joke.

May I say that, considering your academic qualifications and scholarship, those abusive emails you sent were far below what most educated people would expect.

Perhaps you would say that the abusive emails that he sent you would justify such a tasteless and crude response. I would disagree, thinking that scholars should never descend to the language of the gutter. Nevertheless, to satisfy my curiosity and the interests of justice, perhaps you could send me a sample of the abusive emails you say he sent you? There is a wider audience that should be aware of what Mr Spencer is up to.

By the way, I hope you don't mind me pointing out that the plural of 'clown' is 'clowns' with no apostrophe. Apostrophes are never added to plurals.

The reader shouldn't expect too much of Reza Aslan. He was just imitating Muhammad, the "excellent example" of conduct according to the Qur'an (33:21). Consider these hadiths (thanks to Sam Shamoun):

Ubayy b. Ka‘b told that he heard God’s messenger say, “If anyone proudly asserts his descent in the manner of the pre-Islamic people, tell him to bite his father’s penis, and do not use a euphemism.” It is transmitted in Sarah [sic] as-sunna. (Mishkat Al Masabih, English Translation With Explanatory Notes By Dr. James Robson [Sh. As for Aslan's charges themselves, Aslan consistently uses the SPLC and ADL to avoid having to respond to the real charges I have brought against him (see below) and to dodge debate with me. But as Juvenal (not juvenile -- that's Aslan) said, quis custodiet ipsos custodes? The Southern Poverty Law Center, while it may have once done good work against racism, has now degenerated into a well-heeled propaganda machine that smears conservatives for cash and is an integral part of the ongoing Leftist effort to demonize and destroy those who oppose them by labeling them "hate groups." And regarding the Anti-Defamation League, Aslan is lying: the ADL didn't label us anti-Semitic, but "Islamophobic." Charles Jacobs and Ilya Feoktistov said (thanks to Pamela Geller) that the ADL “has adopted a policy, consistent with the progressive agenda, not to speak up much about the global tsunami of Muslim anti-Semitism, but instead to campaign against ‘Islamophobia.’ This while FBI statistics show that hate crimes against Jews in America are five times the number of hate crimes against Muslims.” ADL leader Abraham Foxman’s “policy has led the ADL to stand with people and organizations whose mission it is to defame and harm Jews. To defend its policy of ‘outreach,’ the Anti-Defamation League vigorously defames as ‘bigots’ citizens who question radical Islamists’ true aims.”

As for the trademark, that's just more political correctness -- rendered bitterly ironic by the tenacity with which many Egyptians are currently resisting Islamization. We just filed a Notice of Appeal today. It says that we are using the word "Islamization" to refer to attempts to "'[t]o cause to conform to Islamic law or precepts' (as defined at Dictionary.com) and '[m]ake subject to Islamic law: to cause people, institutions, or countries to follow Islamic law' (as defined at Encarta.com)." That's what they're fighting in Egypt these days, but we can't fight it here.

Remember also: far from being a "moderate," Aslan is an Islamic supremacist who is a Board member of the National Iranian American Council (NIAC). NIAC has been established in court as a front group for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Aslan is an enemy of the freedom of speech, having called for the vandalism of our AFDI ads.

Aslan's has tried to pass off Iran's genocidally-minded President Ahmadinejad as a liberal reformer and has called on the U.S. Government to negotiate with Ahmadinejad himself, as well as with Hamas -- that is, with two of the most barbaric, genocide-minded and murderous adherents of Sharia. Aslan has even praised the jihad terror group Hizballah as "the most dynamic political and social organization in Lebanon," as well as the anti-Semitic, misogynist, Islamic supremacist Muslim Brotherhood, which is dedicated in its own words, according to a captured internal document, to "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within." Aslan wrote: "The Muslim Brotherhood will have a significant role to play in post-Mubarak Egypt. And that is good thing." He has not revised this view despite the Muslim Brotherhood regime's increasing authoritarianism and brutality toward its opponents, or its escalating persecution of Egyptian Christians.

UPDATE: David Yerushalmi writes in with yet another refutation of another Aslan lie: "The USPTO did NOT label your organization racist or bigoted. It simply ruled, incorrectly, that the trademark would  insult Muslims who understood (incorrectly) that you wished to 'stop' peaceful Muslims/Islam versus political sharia driven Islam (i.e., Islamisation)."

Don’t ever think that Allah is unaware of what you do. He knows exactly what your inmost being suggests secretly to your mind and what your breast forges. His angels are closer to you than your own neck vain. Two angels sit as receivers by your sides right and left to note your actions. Not a word you utter but there is a watcher by you ready to record it. And then, there comes the occasion when you sink into stupor of death; and then you are told, ‘this is what you tried hard to evade.’ And in the Day of Resurrection you will be driven to your destiny by one of the watchful angels, accompanied by another watchful angel to bear witness. It will be said to you, ‘Indeed you were heedless of this’. Allah will tell you, ‘Now We have removed from you, your covering, and sharp is your sight this day’ And the angel, your companion will say, ‘Here is his record ready with me.’ Allah will say to the angels, ‘Cast into Hell everyone who denied Allah, who had been headstrong, and pertinacious in adhering to his own wrong. Put him to the torment that is laid upon the damned. Satan will say, ‘My Creator, I never incited him to evil, but he was himself in error far astray.’ Allah will say, ‘do not altercate with each other in my presence, I had already in advance sent you the clear warning of the consequences of your conduct. The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust to the slaves.’ Allah will further add, ‘Upon the Day shall come when We ask Hell, are you now to the full? And it will say, ‘Are there no more?’”

Now, enemy of Allah, listen to the Koranic verses addressed to you and the like of you indicating the above:

We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, not a word he utters, but by him is an observer ready. And death’s agony comes in truth; this is what you have been avoiding!’ And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat. And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. ‘Indeed you were heedless of this; therefore We have removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.’ And his comrade shall say, ‘This is what I have made ready.’ ‘Cast, you twain, into Hell every stubborn disbeliever, every hinderer of the good, transgressor, doubter, who set up with Allah another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.’

And his comrade (Satan) shall say, ‘Our Lord I made not him insolent, but he was in far error,’ He shall say, ‘Dispute not before me, for I sent you before the threat. The Word is not changed with Me; I wrong not My servants.’

Upon the day We shall say unto Hell, ‘Are you filled?’ It will say, ‘Are there any more to come?’ (Qaf,17-30).

Now, Robert Spencer, you wallow in the mire of the neoconservatives, Judo-Christian coalition, Zionists, evangelicals, Religious Right, and Republicans joining these groups, seeking their help and financial support. Although all these groups form the religious and political fabric of America, they share in common enmity to Islam and Muslims. Their hatred is well recorded and documented. Now you enjoy their financial support and protection, but what would happen when you are left alone in the grave then resurrected to stand before Allah to receive your accountability?

Don’t you know Mr. knowhow that the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception? The donations you are enjoying now and the fame you are getting by spreading falsehood about Islam shall not avail you against Allah.

Allah says in the Koran:

As for the unbelievers, their riches shall not avail them, neither their children, against Allah; those are the inhabitants of the Fire (Al-Imran, 116).

In another place we read in the Koran:

The unbelievers though they possessed all that is in the earth, and the like of it with it, to ransom themselves from the torment of the Fire, it would not be accepted from them; for them awaits a painful chastisement. They will desire to come forth from the Fire, but they will not come forth from it; for them awaits a lasting chastisement (Al-Maidah, 36, 37).

How dare you attack Allah your Creator, and rebels against His teachings? Allah is exalted in power, rank, and dignity. Allah is full of might and majesty, able to enforce His will.

How dare you challenge Allah and He has decreed: “It is I and My messengers who must prevail.”

Listen to the Koran:

‘I shall assuredly be the victor, I and My Messengers.’ Surely Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty (Al-Mujadelah, 21).

Fear Allah (by doing all he has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared (by obeying Him, be thankful to Him and remembering Him always) and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims with complete submission to Allah.)” [Al-Imran, 102).

So Allah is meant to be obeyed, and not disobeyed; remembered at all times, and not forgotten; and to be thanked; and we are not to be ungrateful to Him.

Piety alone is the criterion of greatness in the sight of Allah and not wealth, fame or material objects.

The Koran says:

Surely the noblest among you in the sight of Allah is the most god-fearing of you. Allah is all-Knowing, All-aware (Al-Hujurat, 13).

Piety is a means by which a believer performs righteous deeds; piety causes the righteous deed to be accepted by Allah.

Allah says: "O you who believe! Fear Allah and always speak the truth. He will direct you to do righteous and correct actions and will forgive you your sins and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has indeed attained a great achievement." (Al-Ahzab: 70). and: "Nay, but whoso fulfils his covenant and fears Allah, Allah loves the god-fearing (Al-Imran, 76).

The mindset of the Islamic culture stems from the conviction that Allah is our Creator and Sustainer. Hence in this short stay on earth we are to serve Him alone. To Muslims Islam is the guiding light and driving force. The religion will dictate and all else will follow. Life is regarded as a journey wherein the traveler is not too concerned about the luxuries and comforts of the earthly life. The traveler is focused towards his destination – Day of Judgment. Yet as a result of one’s obedience to Allah during his earthly life, one will be blessed with true peace, serenity and contentment, and a greater reward in the Hereafter – Paradise.

Say: ‘My prayer, my ritual sacrifice, my living, my dying, - all belongs to Allah, the Lord of All-Being (Al-An’am, 162).

Contrary to this, the cornerstone of the western culture is immorality and extravagance. The mindset of western culture is that the purpose of life is worldly enjoyment. Every comfort and luxury must be attained at all costs. Everything centers on entertainment, and chasing more fun. There is no mission in life. Merely the pursuit of temporal pleasure permeates every cell of the mind. The constant pursuit of greater comfort and luxury demands loads of money. Thus life revolves around making money. If looking after elderly parents spoils the weekends and holidays they should be dispatched to the old-age homes. If children come in the way of earning extra money, they can be entrusted to day-care centers where they are treated almost like mechanical objects. There is no concern for proper upbringing. For money anything could be sacrificed – parents, children and even religion. It is an extremely hollow existence without any peace or contentment, which only stops when one is placed in the hollow of the grave!
