Recently in Jihad Watch Awards Category

Back by popular demand: the annual Jihad Watch Awards. Nominations are hereby open for the four awards we give annually.

First, the ones few people want but all too many people deserve:

1. American Dhimmi of the Year 2011.
2. Dhimmi Internationale of the Year 2011.

These should, of course, be awarded to those who behaved during the year 2011 in the most spineless, shameless, abject, and/or suicidally, self-servingly stupid ways in the face of Islamic supremacist bullying and intimidation, peaceful and/or violent.

Then we will honor two heroes:

3. American Anti-Dhimmi of the Year 2011.
4. Anti-Dhimmi Internationale of the Year 2011.

Please nominate individuals, not groups, entire nations, political parties, secret societies, blogs, etc. Please also do not nominate me, Marisol Seibold, Raymond Ibrahim, The Anti-Jihadist, Joseph Zaalishvili or Nicolai Sennels: Jihad Watch staff and relatives of staff are not eligible for either the Dhimmi or the Anti-Dhimmi prizes. We are not going to give ourselves our own awards!

I hope that this year again we will be able to memorialize the winners in yet another primo cartoon from the world's premier anti-jihad caricaturist, David Washburn.

However, only one vote was registering, and I wasn't able to find out what was wrong, so I have taken them down for now. I will restructure the ballots on a different polling service and post them again as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Last night I announced, somewhat on the spur of the moment, that nominations were open for two awards: the American Dhimmi of the Year 2005 and the Dhimmi Internationale 2005. These should, of course, be those who behaved in the most pusillanimous, abject, and/or suicidally stupid ways in the face of Islamic jihadist bullying and intimidation, peaceful or violent.

We also plan to award the American Anti-Dhimmi Prize for 2005, and the Anti-Dhimmi Internationale 2005.

I encourage you to search through the archives here -- on both the Jihad Watch and Dhimmi Watch sides -- and you will find many, many worthy candidates for both honor and dishonor.

Jihad Watch staff and relatives of staff are not eligible for either the Dhimmi or the Anti-Dhimmi prizes.

Tentative plans involve awarding winners in both categories with a copy of Oriana Fallaci's The Force of Reason, which will soon be available in English -- but I am open to suggestions for prizes.

Please nominate individuals, not groups or entire nations or secret societies. There are already a number of good nominations at the original announcement at Dhimmi Watch (linked above).

The Drinking From Home blogspot is accepting nominations for the inaugural British Dhimmi Awards. He already has quite an impressive roster of nominees, including David Farr, who bowdlerized Christopher Marlowe's Tamburlaine the Great so as to avoid offending Muslims; Burger King, for withdrawing its ice cream after a Muslim complained that the artistic representation of the swirl on the package looked like "Allah" in Arabic when held sideways; and the irrepressible George Galloway.

I encourage you to vote over there, but I am also inspired. Nominations are hereby opened for two -- that's right, two -- awards inspired by our British friends. In the Comments field here, please place nominations for the American Dhimmi of the Year 2005, and for the Dhimmi Internationale 2005 winner as well. These should, of course, be those who behaved in the most pusillanimous, abject, and/or suicidally stupid ways in the face of Islamic jihadist bullying and intimidation, peaceful or violent.

Also, please give us some suggestions for a suitable award. And note that employees of Jihad Watch and their relatives are not eligible for these twin dhimmiprizes.

UPDATE: By popular demand, we will be awarding Anti-dhimmi prizes as well, so please continue to nominate candidates for those (U.S. and international). And as for the Dhimmi prize, I am thinking of sending the winner a copy of Fallaci's seminal The Rage and the Pride. So rather than nominating "France," try to limit your nominations to people who actually have an address (yes, yes, I know, France has an address too: go to Britain and turn right, but only geographically).
