The Sun reported in 2010 how Muslims took over the British underworld: "'Religion is important to us only as a way of defining who we can trust and who we can work with.' Amir adds: 'Young Muslim gangs aren't worried about what Allah makes of their criminal ways — they don't believe in it to that extent. Through religion we speak the same language, live in the same areas, go to the same schools and can even use mosques as a safe place away from the police or other gangs. If you f*** with a Muslim gang you'd better be able to run fast or hide well, because they will come back at you in numbers.'"

Copenhagen Municipality estimates that the immigrants gangs -- which are in fact Muslim gangs -- get 700 new members every year (in Copenhagen alone).

A police officer told me that the reason that they prefer to crack down on rockers such as Hells Angels is that the rockers actually behave relatively calmly when they get visits from the police. Visiting the "dungeons of the immigrant gangs is like visiting a monkey cage. They crawl on the walls, try to escape and have absolutely no respect for the police."

Translated from The Short Newspaper, February 9: "Still more crackdowns on gangs". Black Cobra and Bloodz are both Muslim gangs; Nørrebro (espcially Inner Nørrebro) is famous for being seriously contaminated by Sharia and Muslim gangs:

Wednesday morning the police launched a major, coordinated crackdown on gangs in Copenhagen and Zealand. Over 1,000 officers participated in the raid that included searches and arrests, from Albertslund and Hundige to Køge, Roskilde and Hillerød.

They conducted raids in residential units and buildings that house members or sympathizers of the organized gangs. This was preceded by months of investigation.

The gangs have increased in the recent years. There is a recruitment of new members. Gangs like 'Black Cobra' and 'Bloodz' are engaged in a coordinated mobilization and they have special places for hiding weapons . ...

The gangs have also become more geographically widespread. They have moved south from Copenhagen to the rest of Zealand, from Inner Nørrebro, to the suburbs Ishøj, Greve, Greve, and on to Køge.

Younus Abdullah Mohammad's lawyer, James Hundley, said that his case presented free speech issues. It did, but not the ones Hundley had in mind. Younus Abdullah Mohammad has no Constitutional right to threaten people with death. But his doing so is the other side of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's ongoing campaign to compel Western governments to criminalize "religious hatred," by which they mean all accurate speech about how jihadists point to Islamic texts and teachings to justify violence. Either Western countries will render themselves mute (and hence defenseless) against the advancing jihad, or thugs like Younus Abdullah Mohammad will force them into silence by means of threats and murder.

"Second South Park threats suspect to plead guilty," by Josh Gerstein in Politico, February 8:

A second man alleged to have made illegal threats against "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone has agreed to plead guilty, according to a defense lawyer.

Jesse Morton, also known as Younus Abdullah Mohammad, was detained in Morocco last May in connection with alleged threats posted on the Revolution Muslim website after "South Park" depicted Mohammad as a man in a bear suit. Prosecutors allege that Morton helped write a "clarification statement" that amounted to a further threat against the "South Park" creators by praying for their deaths and suggesting that they were likely to face the violent demise of other critics of Islam....

A lawyer for Morton, James Hundley, said his client plans to appear in federal court in Alexandria, Va. on Thursday to plead guilty to three felonies: conspiracy, communicating threats, and internet stalking. Each carries a sentence of up to five years in prison....

Hundley said the case against Morton presented free speech issues, but his client ultimately decided to take the plea the government offered rather than risk trial on more serious charges that could carry an even longer sentence.

"Certainly, this case had that question: at what point are you exercising free speech and at what point are you verging into prohibited speech of a threatening or inciting nature?" Hundley told POLITICO Wednesday. "That was something we obviously looked at very closely."...

Just when you thought Hamas-linked CAIR couldn't get any more despicable: even when Muslims commit a brutal and gratuitous act of violence, CAIR claims victim status.

Said their attorney: “Had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, I don't think these charges would be standing here today. Because of the Arab ethnicity, I think these charges were brought with the racial animus behind it." In reality, had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, they'd have been charged with assault and tried for assault, and there might be a news article or two about brutality in high school football, but there would be none of the media attention or hypocritical self-righteousness that we're seeing in this case.

More on this story. "CAIR defends football players who assaulted quarterback saying charges based on racism," by Matt Lacy in the Greeley Gazette, February 7:

The Council on Arab Islamic Relations is defending four Michigan High School football players who ignored a referee and assaulted a quarterback, saying the charges are based solely on their race.

On Oct. 21, during a football game between Star Academy and Westland Lutheran High School in Dearborn Heights he quarterback for Westland planned to bow his knee to end the game with a 48-6 victory.

Referees reportedly instructed players not to have contact after the snap. While the quarterback, P.J. Kruse was taking the knee, Star players burst through the offensive line and threw him to the ground. During the ensuing melee, Kruse suffered a grade three concussion.

Following a three month investigation into the incident, The Wayne County prosecutor filed aggravated assault charges against Star Academy seniors Mohamed Ahmed, Fanar Al-Alsady, Hadee Attia and Ali Bajjey.

The attorney for the players, Nabih Ayad said the charges were based solely because the players race. CAIR-MI, the Arab Civil Rights League and the NAACP have sent the prosecutors a letter asking for all of the charges to be dismissed.

In a news conference Jan. 24, CAIR said there was new video that said the incident was “greatly exaggerated” and that no charges would have been filed happened if the players had been any other religion. At this time the organization has not released the supposed video that vindicates the students.

CAIR Executive Director Dawud Walid said “We believe that from the very beginning that, if these young men may have been of a different ethnicity, of a different religion, different skin color, that Dearborn Heights police officer most likely would not have been so aggressive in the means in which he carried out his investigation.”

Ayad said “Had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, I don't think these charges would be standing here today. Because of the Arab ethnicity, I think these charges were brought with the racial animus behind it."

He went on to describe the event as simply a post play “skirmish” that frequently happens in football games.

Wayne County Prosecutor, Kym Worthy issued a statement denying CAIR’s allegations, saying the department had a strict policy against allowing race or ethnicity to influence any part of the charging process.

Defending the charges, Worthy said, “Our investigation in this case includes a video tape which captured the incident. After a review of the evidence, we have charged the people involved in this incident with the appropriate charges.”

Robert Spencer with Jihad Watch said Ayad’s statement trivializing what happened was incredible. “Really? Players commonly give their opponents concussions in non-game situations?”

Spencer pointed out that if the situation were reversed with non-Muslims assaulting a Muslim student, CAIR would be demanding the players face hate crime charges.

“In this case, they're trying to portray some thuggish Muslim footballers as victims, both to advance their Muslim victimhood narrative, and to try to intimidate law enforcement officials into being afraid to charge Muslims with anything, for fear of being charged with racial or ethnic or religious bias.”

CAIR’s reaction to the incident follows on the heels of similar incidents where the group has tried to play the victim card.

Following the FBI’s arrest of Sami Osmakac, a Muslim from Kosovo who was a naturalized American citizen, CAIR suggested that authorities may have used entrapment in the case.

Hassan Shibly, executive director for the Council on American Islamic Relations said, “The weapons and explosives were provided by the government. Was he just a troubled individual, or did he pose a real threat?" After Shibly’s comments were reported in the alternative media, CAIR backed down saying they would not pursue the entrapment allegations.

During a series of recent firebombings In Queens, New York CAIR quickly claimed that the bombings were caused by Islamophobia.

While a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the door of the Al-Khoei Islamic Foundation houses one of the most prominent Shiite mosques in New York, the assailant also firebombed a house of a black Christian couple as well as another house which served as a Hindu place of worship.

Following the attacks CAIR called for police to increase patrols around Mosques, however they did not call for similar patrols around houses of worship for other faiths.

Spencer said CAIR’s reaction reveals that the group will not hesitate to use any event to their advantage to portray Muslims as victims in this country.

“CAIR did not mention anything about the Hindus or Christians when they issued their release. This just shows how self-serving their claims of victimhood really are,” Spencer said. “They called for increased police patrols against mosques, but they didn’t say anything about calling for protection for Hindu or Christian places of worship.”...

This is all the more disturbing following a similar recent incident in which a video conference with Salman Rushdie at a literary fair had to be called off.

Behavior that is rewarded is repeated, and society will be poorer for it as dissent becomes physically dangerous. "After Muslim protests, Kolkata Book Fair cancels Taslima Nasrin book launch," by Molly Driscoll for the Christian Science Monitor, February 2:

After receiving threats, the Kolkata Book Fair canceled the launch of Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin’s new autobiography "Nirbasan," which had been scheduled to debut at the fair this week. Muslim leaders had protested her appearance there because of one of Nasrin’s previous books, titled “Lajja” (translated to “Shame”), which has been viewed by some of the Muslim faith as offensive.

Nasrin has enraged them before by demanding women's rights. Two people died in riots over her article "Let's Think About the Burqa" in 2010. In that article, she called for women to burn their burqas, and noted:

"Some 1,500 years ago, it was decided for an individual's personal reasons that women should have purdah and since then millions of Muslim women all over the world have had to suffer it," and: "Why are women covered? Because they are sex objects. Because when men see them, they are roused. Why should women have to be penalised for men's sexual problems? Even women have sexual urges. But men are not covered for that."

The CSM report continues:

Tridib Chatterjee, the secretary for the Publishers and Booksellers Guild, which is in charge of the Kolkata Book Fair, told The New York Times that the launch was canceled not only because of threats received, but because the AC Hall, the space where the launch was to take place, was not prepared.

“We took the decision to cancel the book launch in the larger interests of the people,” Chatterjee told The New York Times. “We cannot jeopardize the safety and security of thousands of visitors to the book fair.”

The launch then took place at the stall of the People’s Book Society, the publishing company that was releasing Nasrin’s new book, though not in connection with the fair's organizers. Other authors at the book fair, including writer Nabarun Bhattacharya, launched the book at the stall unofficially. A rally occurred later at the fair, protesting the threats against Nasrin.

Nasrin was forced to flee her home country of Bangladesh in 1994 after the release of "Lajja" provoked attacks and death threats. She lived in Europe and North America for some time before moving to Kolkata, but after being attacked again and becoming the subject of riots due to a fatwa against her in the city, she moved to New Delhi, and then left India for Sweden after she said some members of the police force told her to leave the country.

Nasreen said she was taken aback that the cancellation had not prompted more outrage from the city’s residents.

“Are Kolkatans becoming cowards?” she asked the Times of India.

If the Western intelligentsia takes notice of this at all, it will be to excoriate the "bigotry" and "provocation" by the Christians at the carnival, and to call for restrictions on the freedom of speech to guard against "denigration of religion." No one will call on the Muslim community to stop reacting with violence to mockery, but to accept the fact that in a pluralistic society, some people will do things to which they object, and the proper response is genuine tolerance, not arson and riots.

"Church set on fire after carnival," from the UKPA, January 31:

An Orthodox Christian church famed for its valuable icons was set alight in southern Macedonia overnight amid religious tension between Christians and minority Muslims over a carnival in which Orthodox Christian men dressed as women in burkas and mocked the Koran.

Firefighters extinguished the fire on Monday night in the two century-old Sveti Nikola church, near the town of Struga. The church's roof was destroyed but its icons were not damaged, the fire service said.

Hours before the fire, Muslim leaders had appealed for calm among community members.

The January 13 Vevcani festival prompted angry, sometimes violent demonstrations by Muslims, who are nearly all ethnic Albanian and make up 33% of the country's 2.1 million population and accuse the majority of stoking hatred against them.

Maybe if they cut back on the violent demonstrations and church burnings, they'd find the majority hating them less.

Ethnic tension has been simmering in this small Balkan country since the end of an armed rebellion in 2001, when ethnic Albanian rebels fought government forces for about eight months, seeking greater rights for their community. The conflict left 80 people dead, and ended with the intervention of Nato peacekeepers.

The Vevcani carnival, said to have been held for some 1,400 years, attracts thousands of visitors. Local residents traditionally wear elaborate, frequently sarcastic masks, with some of the most common costumes including devils and demons.

But this year's perceived mockery of the Koran and the burka costumes caused outrage.

On Saturday, protesters attacked an inter-city bus heading from Struga to Vevcani, throwing rocks at the vehicle but injuring nobody. They also defaced a Macedonian flag outside Struga's municipal building, replacing it with a green flag representing Islam. On the same day, perpetrators attacked a church in the nearby village of Labunista, destroying a cross standing outside.

Macedonian Muslim leaders called for restraint but also accused the government of promoting Islamophobia.

Deputy Prime Minister Musa Xhaferi said such incidents "create discord" and "violate mutual respect and trust."

A pack of about 40 Muslims gathered in front of the Norwegian parliament, shouting "Allahu akbar" while the bearded speaker, a known criminal named Arfan Qadeer Bhatti, in perfect Norwegian told the Norwegians:

We therefore demand that Norway immediately decide to withdraw her forces from Afghanistan before the war comes back to Norway. ... The Norwegian people should also know that their security will continue to be threatened as long as the Norwegian government continues its aggression against the Muslim people, and takes part in the occupation of Muslim countries. If security is dear to you, dear Norwegians, you should collectively demand that the Norwegian government withdraw Norwegian forces. And I stress: this is not a threat; it is a warning for your own good. (Crowd cheering 'Allahu akbar').

Islamic supremacists and their Leftist allies game the system, get a thug acquitted, and then gloat about it. "'Zionists always lose' chant as SOAS cheekbiter is acquitted of assault," from the Jewish Chronicle, January 26:

A PhD student who bit a pro-Israel campaigner on the cheek at SOAS Israel Apartheid Week has been acquitted of assault.

Mohammed Abdelkarim was accused of biting Dean Gold on the face during a tussle on March 20 last year, smashing his camera to the ground. He was cleared of both assault and criminal damage. Palestine Solidarity Campaign activists in the public gallery cheered and whooped as the verdict was announced, shouting, "Zionists always lose," at Mr Gold's family and friends as they left court.

The scuffle took place as Mr Gold was filming an unidentified man making obscene remarks about the Holocaust.

In footage played to the court, an elderly black man rants to the camera: "Six million Jews lined up outside the gas chambers like lambs to the slaughter." Mr Gold said: "I was very distressed. I thought, this must be illegal. I remembered I had my camera, so I asked him if he minded being filmed."

Mr Abdelkarim is then heard approaching and asking the man if he minds being filmed, telling the man he will "knock it [the camera] off" if he does not wish to be filmed.

But the subject replies: "I have nothing to hide." Mr Gold alleged that Mr Abdelkarim then launched himself at him. "He was growling and my cheek was pinned between his teeth, I felt like he was trying to bite my ear off. I could feel his breath and him moving towards my ear. My cheek was clamped, vice-like, in his teeth."

The defence argued that it was Mr Abdelkarim who had been first punched by Mr Gold, and then pinned in a bear hug, before resorting to biting Mr Gold in order to free himself.

Srikantharajah Nereshraaj, defending, said the pro-Israel activists had been present to "disrupt, antagonise and provoke reactions" at what he described as a "Palestinian cultural event."

Mr Abdelkarim said the Israel campaigners had apparently ignored his requests not to take pictures of his two young children. Israeli film student Roy Goldman, who was called as a witness, agreed that he had been filming and taking pictures at the event.

Mr Abdelkarim told the court he was "not a political person" and had come to the event with his family for food and face-painting. "I did not want my children appearing in any footage at all," he said. He had noticed Mr Gold filming. "I could see they [his children] would appear in the background."...

Islamic supremacists have a thing about filming. At our various AFDI/SIOA rallies, they film all of us incessantly, but when pro-freedom activists try to photograph or film them, they're shouted at, abused, and even attacked.

In FrontPage this morning I discuss the ongoing travesty in New York, as Hamas-linked CAIR shouts "Jump!" and the dhimmi Mayor Bloomberg responds, "How high?"

A controversy has broken out this week that epitomizes how bold the Islamic supremacist forces in the U.S. have become, and how weak and supine those who are charged with protecting the public have become.

The New York Times has run a news story and an indignant unsigned editorial about the showing of The Third Jihad, a relatively tepid anti-jihad film, to New York Police Department personnel. The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) immediately got into the act, compelling New York’s ever ready to accommodate Mayor Michael Bloomberg to apologize and denounce the film, which he almost certainly has not seen. But that wasn’t enough for Hamas-linked CAIR: they’re calling now for the resignation of New York’s Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

And that stands to reason, based on the principle that when one’s enemy is down, one should kick him some more. Hamas-linked CAIR sees its chance to end all effective counter-terror measures in New York, and is going for it.

This whole controversy is epitomized by the photo illustration and lead paragraph of the first New York Times story on this issue: “In Police Training, a Dark Film on U.S. Muslims,” which was by Michael Powell and appeared in the January 23 issue. The photo shows the black flag of jihad flying above the White House, with the caption, “An Islamic flag atop the White House in ‘The Third Jihad.’”

Then the lead paragraph says: “Ominous music plays as images appear on the screen: Muslim terrorists shoot Christians in the head, car bombs explode, executed children lie covered by sheets and a doctored photograph shows an Islamic flag flying over the White House.”

Both the Times’ use of the image and its reference to it at the beginning of the story suggest that the producers of The Third Jihad doctored the photo themselves in order to push their cockamamie idea that some Muslims want to “infiltrate and dominate America.” But in reality, Muslims originated this image, as we have reported here several times. Here is a photo of Muslims holding up this photo at a rally in New York in February 2006:

And another:

Yet this whole controversy is predicated on the assumption that The Third Jihad is whipping up hysteria about a non-existent threat. In reality, it covers much the same ground that I cover in my book Stealth Jihad, in which I show that the agenda of infiltration and subversion on the part of the Muslim Brotherhood and its allied groups is very real.

In “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America,” by Mohamed Akram, May 19, 1991, Muslim Brotherhood operatives in the U.S. are told that they “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

There is more.

From Yahoo News:

NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A prominent national human rights and advocacy organization is asking New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and city officials to resist efforts by the Hamas-linked Islamic supremacist hate group the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to dictate the nature and content of anti-terror training for New York Police Department personnel

The request by the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) and its Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) program comes after Hamas-linked CAIR, one of the nation's most notorious Islamic supremacist hate groups, demanded the resignation of New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly for allowing the counter-jihad film The Third Jihad to be shown to NYPD personnel. AFDI/SIOA respectfully requests that the New York City government repudiate this attempt by Hamas-linked CAIR to interfere with and impede counterterrorism training.

AFDI/SIOA Executive Director Pamela Geller said in a statement: "AFDI/SIOA deplores the attempts by Hamas-linked CAIR and a thoroughly compromised New York Times to undermine the security of New Yorkers by demanding the removal of accurate material about the jihad threat from NYPD training. AFDI/SIOA calls on Mayor Bloomberg to reject the persecution of Police Commissioner Kelly, and to reaffirm him in his position. New York's leaders must not cave in to Hamas-linked CAIR's campaign to outlaw the truth about jihad and Islamic supremacism, thereby making us all more vulnerable to them."

Hamas-linked CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case -- so named by the Justice Department during the trial of the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation.

CAIR has previously attempted to intimidate numerous government agencies and citizens' groups into dropping events featuring foes of international jihad activity, including SIOA's Executive Director Pamela Geller, SIOA's Associate Director Robert Spencer, ACT for America's Brigitte Gabriel, and others. In the summer of 2010 it has embarked upon a concerted campaign of intimidation and defamation to silence public figures who speak out against jihad and Islamic terrorism, including Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), the Rev. Franklin Graham, Florida Congressional candidate Dan Fanelli, and Connecticut Congressional candidate Rick Torres.

CAIR's attempt to intimidate the NYPD and dictate its choice of training materials is consistent with its long record of pro-jihad duplicity and deception. Although it has received millions of dollars in donations from foreign Islamic entities, it has not registered as a foreign agent as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), despite spreading Islamic supremacist propaganda within the United States.

Although it presents itself as a civil rights group, CAIR actually has numerous links to Islamic supremacist and jihad groups. CAIR founders Omar Ahmad and Niwad Awad (who still serves as CAIR's executive director) were present at a Hamas planning meeting in Philadelphia in 1993 where they and other Hamas operatives conspired to raise funds for Hamas and to promote jihad in the Middle East. CAIR has steadfastly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.

Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror:

-- Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR's Texas chapter, in 2009
received a 65-year prison sentence for funneling over $12
million from the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land
Foundation to the jihad terrorist group Hamas, which is
responsible for murdering hundreds of Israeli civilians
-- Mousa Abu Marzook, a former CAIR official, was in 1995
designated by the U.S. government in 1995 as a "terrorist and
Hamas leader." He now is a Hamas leader in Syria.
-- Randall Royer, CAIR's former civil rights coordinator, in 2004
began serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding al-Qaida and
the Taliban against American troops in Afghanistan and
recruiting for Lashkar e-Taiba, the jihadist group responsible
for the 2008 Mumbai jihad massacres.
-- Bassem Khafagi, CAIR's former community relations director, was
arrested for involvement with the Islamic Assembly of North
America, which was linked to al-Qaida. After pleading guilty to
visa and bank fraud charges, Khafagi was deported.
-- Rabih Haddad, a former CAIR fundraiser, was deported for his
work with the Global Relief Foundation (which he co-founded), a
terror-financing organization.

In 1998 Omar Ahmad, CAIR's co-founder and longtime Board Chairman, said: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

After he received unwelcome publicity as a result of this statement, Ahmad denied saying it, several years after the fact. However, the original reporter, Lisa Gardiner of the Fremont Argus, stands by her story.

CAIR's spokesman Ibrahim Hooper once said: "I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future."

SIOA is one of America's foremost organizations defending human rights, religious liberty, and the freedom of speech against Islamic supremacist intimidation and attempts to bring elements of Sharia to the United States.

Poor Mohammad Shafia can't catch a break. First, his first wife and daughters die in a tragic accident that just happens -- pure coincidence! -- to show all the signs of an Islamic honor killing, and now this, which won't help his Poor Victimized Man of Peace act one bit.

"Shafia trial to resume after bomb scare prompts delay," from CTVNews, January 26 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

The Shafia family murder trial in Kingston, Ont. is expected to resume Thursday afternoon with increased security after a bomb scare shut down proceedings earlier in the day.

People have started returning to the courthouse but police procedures, including checking for photo identification and using metal detectors, have made for long waits.

There is only one entry point into the building now.

Earlier Thursday, journalists and spectators who had lined up hours before court was scheduled to begin were suddenly told by police they had to leave and court would resume in the afternoon.

Police would only say there was a "security concern," but a source told The Canadian Press that a bomb threat prompted the evacuation.

"I can neither confirm nor deny in regards to specifically a bomb, but we are just stating at this point in time it is a security concern," Const. Steve Koopman told The Canadian Press. "As you can see we're taking it extremely seriously."

Mohammad Shafia, 58, his wife Tooba Yahya, 42, and their son Hamed, 21, have each pleaded not guilty to four counts of first-degree murder.

They were evacuated from the courthouse Thursday in a police prisoner vehicle.

Koopman couldn't say if the security threat was directly related to the Shafia trial.

The trio is accused of killing teenage Shafia daughters Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17, and Geeti, 13, as well as Shafia's first wife in his polygamous marriage.

The Crown began its final arguments on Wednesday and was expected to wrap up Thursday. It isn't clear whether jury deliberations will still begin on Friday, as originally scheduled.

Three defence lawyers presented their final arguments Tuesday and Wednesday.

The bodies of the four were found in June 2009 in a car at the bottom of a canal in Kingston.

The Montreal family had stopped in Kingston on their way back from a trip to Niagara Falls, Ont.

The Crown has alleged that the girls were murdered by their father, his wife and their brother, and that the killing was then made to look like an accident after the fact.

The Crown's argument is built on the premise that the girls broke the family's moral code and dishonoured their family by wearing clothing that was not conservative and having secret boyfriends.

"Not conservative" is media-speak for "not Islamic." In the media's world, "conservatives" are those who uphold Sharia, and also those who oppose it.

The defence, however, calls the argument preposterous and said the deaths were the result of a tragic accident.

Yeah, and the bomb threat was actually just a harmless movie review. Nothing to see here. Move along.

First this: "The quarterback for Lutheran planned to touch his knee to the ground to end the game, with Lutheran leading 48 to 6. Police said game officials knew this and instructed teams not to have contact after the snap. But players from Star Academy, according to police, went after the quarterback, knocking him to the ground and kicking him. The quarterback suffered a concussion."

Then this: "Attorney Nabih Ayad said said [sic] players are commonly involved in 'skirmishes' in post play but that these players were treated differently because of ethnic profiling."

Really? Players commonly give their opponents concussions in non-game situations?

And finally this: "'We believe that from the very beginning that, if these young men may have been of a different ethnicity, of a different religion, different skin color, that Dearborn Heights police officer most likely would not have been so aggressive in the means in which he carried out his investigation,' said CAIR Executive Director Dawud Walid."

The involvement of the sinister thugs of Hamas-linked CAIR should raise red flags. If this were a case of four non-Muslim high school football players attacking a Muslim opponent, kicking him and giving him a concussion, you can be sure Dawud Walid would be on the other side. Hamas-linked CAIR is trying to portray these Muslim football players as victims, despite the fact that they're the ones who carried out the assault in the first place. This is in line with Hamas-linked CAIR's never-ending quest for Muslim victims. In order to deflect attention away from jihad activity and try to portray Muslims as victims, so as to shame non-Muslims into not investigating or even being suspicious of further jihad activity, Hamas-linked CAIR and other Muslims have not hesitated to fabricate "hate crimes." Hamas-linked CAIR and other groups like it want and need hate crimes against Muslims, because they can use them for political points and as weapons to intimidate people into remaining silent about the jihad threat.

And in this case, they're trying to portray some thuggish Muslim footballers as victims, both to advance their Muslim victimhood narrative, and to try to intimidate law enforcement officials into being afraid to charge Muslims with anything, for fear of being charged with racial or ethnic or religious bias.

"Dearborn Heights football players challenge charges," from ClickOnDetroit.com, January 24:

DETROIT - The families of metro Detroit high school students are crying foul and fighting back against charges stemming from a fight on the field during a football game.

Four teens, Ali Bajjey, Fanar Al-Asady, Hadee Attia and Mohamed Ahmed, are facing charges of aggravated assault for the incident that happened Oct. 21 between Star Academy and Westland Lutheran High School.

The quarterback for Lutheran planned to touch his knee to the ground to end the game, with Lutheran leading 48 to 6. Police said game officials knew this and instructed teams not to have contact after the snap. But players from Star Academy, according to police, went after the quarterback, knocking him to the ground and kicking him. The quarterback suffered a concussion.

But the Council on American-Islamic Relations held a news conference Tuesday on the basis that the allegations are not true.

CAIR said there is new video showing the incident was "greatly exaggerated" and that the players were targeted because they were Arab-American.

"We believe that from the very beginning that, if these young men may have been of a different ethnicity, of a different religion, different skin color, that Dearborn Heights police officer most likely would not have been so aggressive in the means in which he carried out his investigation," said CAIR Executive Director Dawud Walid.

Attorney Nabih Ayad said said [sic] players are commonly involved in “skirmishes” in post play but that these players were treated differently because of ethnic profiling.

"Had their names been John or Bill, Randy or Jason, I don't think these charges would be standing here today. Because of the Arab ethnicity, I think these charges were brought with the racial animus behind it," he said. "If you play football, you better watch out. You can't be aggressive because you may be charged with a criminal act. We're asking judges to be referees on every play."

In response, the Wayne County Prosecutor issued a statement that said it had a policy against allowing race or ethnicity to influence any part of the charging process.

“Our investigation in this case includes a video tape which captured the incident. After a review of the evidence, we have charged the people involved in this incident with the appropriate charges,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said....

Muslims' right to rob non-Muslims has been established since their prophet (always "their", not "the") attracted fighters by allowing booty and rape when attacking non-Muslims. An anonymous Danish police officer now says that "immigrant" criminals are targeting non-Muslims because they want them to leave the area. I guess the non-Muslims could avoid such attacks if they paid jizya to the local mosque.

Here is an account of Muhammed's copy cats at work, translated from B.T., January 23rd 2012. Vollsmose is one of the biggest Muslim ghettos in Denmark, located in Odense on the Island of Funen. "Police officer: They want the Danes out of the area. Danes targeted in burglaries in Vollsmose":

If your last name is 'Hansen' or 'Nielsen,' and do you live in the Odense district of Vollsmose, your risk of becoming the victim of a burglary is significantly higher than if you had had a more foreign-sounding surname.

A burglary campaign against ethnic Danes has spread in the troubled district in the recent months.

- There is a kind of racism out there, where we find that more and more Danes are chased out of the area. It happens as a result of a big increase in burglaries. There have been approximately 150 burglaries the last four months. What is striking is that nine out of ten burglaries are now directed against ethnic Danes, a cop at Funen Police headquarters explains. The cop does not want us to publish his name for fear of losing his job. His name is known by the editors. The officer believes that someone is trying to cleanse the area from the remaining Danes.

- Several of the young offenders have directly said that they want Vollsmose for themselves. Last year a Danish family reported several incidents, with the result that the family's apartment was vandalized every week until the family finally gave up and moved out of the area. Additionally, many of these burglaries resemble actual vandalism, which make it look like some kind of revenge.

The officer criticizes the way the authorities are handling the problem. He believes that they are trying to cover up the development simply because it is controversial.

- Everyone knows it ... Why they put a lid on it I do not know, but I guess it is because it is politically controversial. ...

The local police deputy in Vollsmose, Bjarne Puggaard, confirms that there is a dramatic increase in the number of burglaries in the area. He does not want to confirm whether it is especially ethnic Danes who are victims of the many burglaries.

Shortly after the interview with the local police, bt.dk, however, receives a phone call from the Funen chief of police. After a little reflection, the police now suddenly wish to confirm that the burglaries are mainly targeted at Danes. ...

- I have no idea why they look at the name of the mailbox before they commit burglary.

"I have now been informed by intelligence sources in Maharashtra and Rajasthan that paid assassins from the Mumbai underworld may be on their way to Jaipur to eliminate me." Although he remains largely clueless about the jihad threat, Salman Rushdie has for decades now been the most visible symbol of the violent Islamic intolerance for free speech regarding Islam. Islamic supremacists have never forgiven him for his (largely unreadable) novel, and they never will.

"Rushdie cancels India visit after death threat warning," by Henry Foy for Reuters, January 20 (thanks to Java):

(Reuters) - Salman Rushdie will not attend a literature festival in India after authorities warned the controversial author he was a potential target of assassins at the event, following threats of protests from Muslim groups at his planned appearance.

Opposition from some Indian Muslim groups erupted this month after Rushdie was invited to attend Asia's largest literature festival, and senior Muslim leaders called on the government to prevent the 65-year-old author from entering the country.

"I have now been informed by intelligence sources in Maharashtra and Rajasthan that paid assassins from the Mumbai underworld may be on their way to Jaipur to eliminate me," Rushdie said in a statement read out by the festival producer.

"While I have some doubts as to the accuracy of this intelligence, it would be irresponsible of me to come to the festival in such circumstances."

The British-Indian author, whose 1988 novel the Satantic [sic] Verses is banned in India, was due to speak on the first day of the five-day Jaipur Literature Festival but organisers removed his name from the schedule last week.

Rushdie would instead participate via a video-link, festival director William Dalrymple told Reuters on Friday....

The festival's directors had previously asserted that the invitation to Rushdie still stood after rescheduling his planned appearance after Muslim leaders in Jaipur threatened to protest.

"The Muslims of Jaipur were planning a protest against Rushdie. Since he is not coming, we have cancelled it," Abdul Haq Shamshi, member of the Jaipur Jama Masjid committee told Reuters.

"If he is deceiving us, and if he comes, we will protest at a minute's notice," he said, adding that thousands of protesters would take to the streets if the author arrived in the city....

Egypt: Islamic supremacist talk show host assaults liberal Muslim guest
by Mark Alexander

Islamic supremacists in Egypt have been tirelessly working for the last 15 years to change their image in the public square into that of a peaceful, God-fearing group that builds hospitals and feeds the poor. They are doing all they can to distance themselves from their terrorist activities of the past. However, the Bible warns us to “be careful of wolves in sheep’s clothing,” and that is what these modern day Islamic supremacists are: wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Perhaps you have heard of Sheikh Khalid el Gindi, a modern day Islamic supremacist televangelist who wears no beard, no long galabeya, or slippers. He wears nicely tailored Western suit, is clean-shaven, and is full of rhetoric of love for the Christian minority.

Khalid el Gindi has his own show on the Al Azhari Channel, a TV channel funded by Al Azhar University, which is itself funded by the Egyptian taxpayer. It is a channel dedicated to educating Muslims about Islam.

Doctor Sayid El Qimini, Doctor of Cultural Studies, received his degree from the University of Southern California after graduating with his Masters from Ain Shams University in Cairo. He has a list of published books attacking Islamic supremacist ideologies, asserting that which is detested by Islamic supremacists: the idea that the Quran is not right for all places and for all times. He also holds the country’s highest literary award.

Dr. Qimini was asked by the Al Azhari Channel and the producer of Khalid El Gindi’s show to come on regarding a dispute that had emerged between Dr. Qimini and Gindi. The show was to be moderated by Siliman Fudel, a true Islamic supremacist who travels around the world debating Western thinkers on Islam. When Dr. Qimini arrived at the station, he waited over three hours in the lobby, where he claims the heat was purposely turned off. This method was used by the station, according to Dr. Qimini, to get him fired up or worked up in time for the show. He was shamefully not introduced as a Doctor by the host, and he commented on that lack of respect shown by the channel.

What ensued after that was a demeaning attack on Dr. Qimini’s character. The host showed clips of interviews from other channels, manipulatively edited by Al Azhari in an attempt at character assassination of Dr. Qimini. At one point in the show, a debate began about whether the Quran was fit for all places and for all times, at which point the moderator, Siliman Fudel, became enraged and attacked Dr. Qimini, claiming falsely that he didn’t really have a doctorate and that there were cases filed against him on charges that he had faked getting a doctoral degree.

Then Khalid El Gindi attacked Dr. Qimini, using language and rhetoric that is unfit and disrespectful. Dr. Qimini rebuked Gindi, removed the microphone from his jacket, and stated that he had had enough and was leaving. After that, when Al Azhari was no longer broadcasting, Dr. Qimini was viciously assaulted by the moderator, Siliman Fudel, who grabbed a mug and slammed it on the back of Dr. Qimini's head while he was not looking. Dr. Qimini dropped to the floor. One of the production crew members turned on his mobile video camera and filmed the entire assault. Other members of the production crew, according to mobile footage, ran over to protect Dr. Qimini from the blind rage of Siliman Fudel.

Dr. Qimini was rushed to the hospital and later filed a lawsuit against Siliman Fudel. The investigation is now pending. No charges have yet been brought against Fudel by the prosecutor’s office.

Since the attack, Dr. Qimini has been invited onto several media channels to explain to viewers his positions on religion and politics, his respect for Islam, and his idea that certain suras of the Quran need to be modernized, because times have changed.

Will Siliman Fudel be prosecuted in the new Egypt? Or will attacks on liberals continue to be excused by prosecutors with Islamic supremacist tendencies?

More civic-minded Muslims help people abstain from alcohol the Muslim way. "Lebanon: Shop selling alcohol bombed in Shiite-majority south," from ANSAmed, January 12 (thanks to Insubria):

(ANSAmed) - BEIRUT, JANUARY 12 - A bomb was blown up by unidentified individuals last night at a alcoholic beverages shop in southern Lebanon, the latest in a series of this sort of attack - for which no one has claimed responsibility - in an area with a Shiite Muslim-majority population. Reports were from the Lebanese news agency NNA. The explosion - which occurred in Sarafand, about 50 kilometres south of Beirut - severely damaged the shop targeted and, to a lesser degree, surrounding ones as well. However, no one was hurt. In multi-confessional Lebanon, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages is legal and tolerated in many areas, but not in some with a Muslim majority population. (ANSAmed).

This is the kind of restriction on the freedom of speech that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is trying to bring to the West, with willing help from the Obama Administration. There is, as always, a symbiotic relationship here between the violent and the stealth jihad; note the threats against the Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasrin. Also, when the world's foremost soprano saxophonist, the late great Steve Lacy, performed settings of Nasrin's poetry set to music (The Cry, above), he and his band performed in bulletproof vests, and it wasn't hostile jazz critics they were worried about.

"Bangladesh teacher arrested over banned book," from the Associated Press, January 4 (thanks to The Religion of Peace:

DHAKA, Bangladesh — Police have arrested the head teacher at a college in southern Bangladesh after a book considered blasphemous by some Muslims was found in the school's library, an official said Wednesday.

Police officer Abdul Malek said S.M. Yunus Ali was arrested for possessing the novel "Lajja," or "Shame," written by exiled writer Taslima Nasrin.

Malek said Ali, head teacher at the K.C. Technical and Business Management College, could face up to three years in jail if he is found guilty of authorizing the book's inclusion in the library.

The Prothom Alo newspaper said Wednesday that Ali denied having the book and said he was the victim of a conspiracy.

Police corruption and misuse of police investigations by politicians are widespread in Bangladesh.

The novel was banned a year after its publication in 1993 and Nasrin was forced to flee Bangladesh to escape death threats from radical Muslims who considered it blasphemous for advocating secularism. She has been living in India and Europe since then.

Bloomberg insists that the NYPD's counter-terror actions were entirely legal. And do these Muslim leaders really think that a leader so completely in their power such as Bloomberg, errand boy for the Ground Zero Mosque, would circumvent the law to the slightest degree where they are concerned?

This is a naked attempt to intimidate the already compliant Bloomberg into dropping the last vestiges of anti-terror efforts in New York City.

"Muslims boycott Mayor Bloomberg's interfaith breakfast," from the BBC, December 30 (thanks to all who sent this in):

Islamic leaders in New York City have boycotted Mayor Michael Bloomberg's annual interfaith breakfast, in protest at reports of surveillance on Muslims.

They declined their invitations to the annual meeting in a letter outlining their concerns.

The Associated Press news agency first reported in August that the city police department had tried to infiltrate Muslim neighbourhoods and mosques.

Mr Bloomberg has insisted the city's counter-terrorism efforts are legal.

Fourteen Muslim leaders and a number of other community figures - including rabbis, a Roman Catholic nun and Protestant pastors - signed the letter boycotting the Friday breakfast, which is meant to celebrate the city's diversity.

Rabbi Michael Weisser, however, said beforehand that he would attend the breakfast after Muslim friends urged him to use the opportunity to raise their concerns with the mayor.

Rabbi Weisser told the Associated Press he had no problem with the police department following leads, but objected to any official targeting of Muslim organisations.

"From a Jewish perspective, it reminded me of things that were going on in the 1930s in Germany," Rabbi Weisser said.

Does Rabbi Weisser have any idea what was really going on in the 1930s in Germany? The "Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service" of April 7, 1933 barred Jews from civil service jobs. Are Muslims barred from civil service jobs in New York or anywhere in the U.S.? No. That same month, the Nazis restricted the number of Jewish students at German schools and universities. Are Muslims restricted in number at American schools and universities? They are not. Then in September 1935, the Nuremberg Laws stripped Jews of German citizenship and forbade marriage between Jews and Germans. Are Muslims able to become American citizens and marry American non-Muslims? Yes. In 1937 and 1938, Jewish doctors were forbidden to treat non-Jews, and Jewish lawyers disbarred. Are Muslims able to practice medicine and law in the U.S.? Yes, they are.

In short, Muslims are not, nor should they be, subject to restrictions that are remotely comparable to those that Jews suffered in Nazi Germany in the 1930s. Weisser's comparison is monstrous, both for its trivialization of the suffering of Jews in Nazi Germany, and for its libelous slur against the NYPD.

"We don't need that in America. We can't be painting a whole group of people with the same broad brush."....

Mr Bloomberg has previously won praise from the city's Muslim leaders for strongly defending proposals to build an Islamic prayer and cultural centre near the former World Trade Center site.

But reports that the NYPD collected information on people who were neither accused nor suspected of wrongdoing have led to a sense of betrayal among some in the community.

According to AP, undercover officers gathered information through chatting with shop owners and patrons and playing on cricket teams, as part of a surveillance programme designed by a CIA officer.

"Jameela, Messenger of Allah & Defender of Islam," who threatened me as well as Rep. Peter King and New York State Senator Greg Ball, and who more than once also spammed the comments fields here with reams of abusive Islamic triumphalism and hatred toward Jews and Christians, is dead.

This email she sent me was typical of her rhetoric:

ALLAH is the greatest, ALLAH is ALIVE, but the christian's god is only a partially eaten, jew corpse. ALLAHU AKBAR you rabid, jew-eating, racist, christian MOTHA F U C K A S of extremely low intelligence. I will be sure to tell your hostile jinn aka jew masters what loyal and obedient slaves you christians are. Enjoy your brief and evil life of fairy tales and hokum your evil jew masters have created for you, because the Hell-fire is your final destination. Muslims should kill you corpse-eating, blood-drinking, christian savages and send you to your partially-eaten, jew corpse you call god.

Since she was shot in a struggle with a police officer, I wonder if Islamic supremacist groups like Hamas-linked CAIR will cry police brutality and demand an investigation. Jameela Barnette was such a repulsive character that I would expect them to remain silent about this, but on the other hand, they made a cause celebre out of the killing of the imam Luqman Abdullah in a shootout with the feds in Detroit, even though Abdullah advocated violence and theft and was up to his neck in illegal activity. So Jameela Barnette may indeed become their next ploy to establish Muslim victimhood.

If they try that, I will be ready with the beautiful and moving Islamic essays she left here on many occasions -- not to say that she deserved death for those, but just to show the kind of person the Islamic supremacists are championing as one of their own.

"Georgia woman who threatened 2 New York lawmakers is shot to death by cop," by Oren Yaniv for the New York Daily News, December 26 (thanks to Infidel #1):

A Muslim woman who had been charged with sending fake weapons and a pig’s foot to two New York lawmakers was killed during a struggle with a cop in Georgia on Sunday, authorities said.

Jameela Barnette, 53, of Marietta, was slapped with federal charges last month for sending New York State Sen. Greg Ball (R,C-Patterson) a vial of perfume, a hate-filled letter and a doll of the monkey Curious George wearing two Stars of David.

She had also mailed a pig’s foot to Rep. Peter King (R-L.I.) in response to controversial hearings he held in March on the purported radicalization of American Muslims, Politico has reported.

A spokesman for Cobb County Police said an armed Barnette was shot to death after officers responded to a panic alarm she activated at her apartment at 11 a.m. Christmas Day.

When the cops arrived, Barnette opened the door while wielding a knife and a handgun and assaulted an officer with the blade, the spokesman said.

The unnamed officer shot her, killing Barnette at the scene, police said.

"Despite receiving injuries to his arm, the officer was able to use his service weapon to stop the assault," the spokesman said.

The cop was treated for minor injuries to his arm and placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

Police said they did not know why Barnette triggered the alarm.

Barnette railed to several media outlets against what she called anti-Muslim congressional hearings last spring. She told a local TV station she sent Ball, who represents Putnam County and parts of Westchester and Dutchess counties, the threatening package because he’s racist toward her faith and supported King’s hearings.

“I knew the Jews were behind the hearings,” she told Politico. “A monkey is a representation of who the Jews are.”

A judge released Barnette without bail after her arrest in November.

Both Ball and King are Catholic.

Not only are Islamic supremacists absolutely unwilling ever to acknowledge that Muslims have ever done anything wrong; they will also persecute and harass anyone who dares point out that they have.

An update on this story. "Genocide law MP receives death threats," from The Local, December 26 (thanks to Fjordman):

The French parliamentarian who proposed a controversial genocide denial bill has received death threats and had her website attacked.

Valérie Boyer, a member of the governing UMP party, was successful in getting parliamentary approval for a bill that outlawed the denial of a massacre of Armenians by Ottoman troops in 1915.

The bill’s passage unleashed a wave of indignation in Turkey.

Turkish prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said the vote represented “politics based on racism, discrimination and xenophobia.”

Daily newspaper Le Parisien reported that Boyer’s website was attacked on Sunday.

Visitors were redirected to a site showing the Turkish flag and a message attacking the French government and the Armenian community in France.

“You, the Armenian diaspora, are so cowardly that you don’t have the guts to open up the archives and face the truth,” said the message.

In an attack on French politicians the message said “you, the French, are so pitiful and pathetic that you ignore the truth to get votes.”

On Monday morning, the site, valerie-boyer.fr, was still unavailable with a "site indisponible" message being shown.

Boyer said she has received numerous “insults and threats of murder and rape” over recent days on her Facebook page and her Twitter account.

“That such a level of violence is being expressed shows the necessity to punish genocide denial,” she told the newspaper.

“What I’m experiencing is without doubt nothing compared to the experience of the Armenian community."...

Quite so.

The Armenian genocide was a fact, and the Turkish refusal to admit its existence is of a piece with the consistent Islamic supremacist tendency never, ever to admit wrongdoing, and to project their faults upon others. As a believer in the freedom of speech, I believe that the antidote to lies is truth, not censorship, and so I oppose France's new law, but there is no doubt that its foundation is correct and its intention is good. And Erdogan's reaction is the quintessential Islamic supremacist response to the truth about Islamic jihad: evasion, finger-pointing, projection, and claiming of victim status.

"Turkey Accuses France of Genocide After Armenian Bill," from Reuters, December 23 (thanks to all who sent this in):

ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan accused France of genocide in Algeria in the 1940s and 50s, in his latest response to a French parliament vote to make it a crime to deny that the mass killings of Armenians in Ottoman Turkey was genocide.

Erdogan also said President Nicolas Sarkozy's father might have direct knowledge about French "massacres" in Algeria.

"In Algeria from 1945, an estimated 15 percent of the population was massacred by the French. This is a genocide," Erdogan said on live television.

15 percent of the population? Ridiculous and unsupportable historically -- unlike the Armenian genocide.

"If the French President Mr Sarkozy doesn't know about this genocide he should go and ask his father, Paul Sarkozy.

"His father served in the French Legion in Algeria in the 1940s. I am sure he would have lots to tell his son about the French massacres in Algeria," the Turkish premier said.

Parliamentarians in France's lower house of parliament voted overwhelmingly in favor of a draft law outlawing genocide denial Thursday, which the Senate will debate next year.

If passed, the bill would make it illegal to deny the 1915 mass killing of Armenians by Ottoman Turks amounted to genocide. The issue has caused outrage in Turkey, which argues killings took place on all sides during a fierce partisan conflict.

Erdogan condemned the bill shortly after the vote, recalled Ankara's ambassador to France for consultations and cancelled all joint economic, political and military meetings. Friday, he vowed to take more steps....

"The vote in the French parliament has shown how dangerous racism, discrimination and Islamophobia have become in France and Europe."

Although nearly a century has passed since the killings in the middle of World War One, successive Turkish governments and the vast majority of Turks feel the charge of Armenian genocide is an insult to their nation.

Islamic supremacists such as Dalia Mogahed, Hamas-linked CAIR and Reza Aslan and their Leftist Useful Idiots such as Russell Simmons, as well as Useful Idiot far-Left "journalists" such as Michelle Goldberg and Adam Serwer, are in a fine froth about the Lowe's decision to drop advertising from All-American Muslim. It's bigotry, you see, for a company to drop advertising on a Muslim TV show for whatever reason, but it's not thuggery to try to force American companies to advertise on that show by using threats, intimidation, and smears.

Leftist journalists and Islamic supremacist spokesmen always march in lockstep, using the same talking points, as I've pointed out previously in connection with Aslan's frequent recycling of tired and discredited themes. In this case Goldberg enunciates the theme that this whole attempt to bully Lowe's and other advertisers is sounding: "Right-wingers attack TV’s All-American Muslim for portraying Muslims as ordinary folks, and Lowe’s pulls its advertising—signaling that it agrees Muslims shouldn’t be depicted as anything other than terrorists."

My article here is often referred to in support of this idea, but of course I didn't say that, and the idea that that's why anyone objects to All-American Muslim is ridiculous on its face. The Left and Islamic supremacists are so intellectually bankrupt that they cannot mount a coherent refutation of their enemies; all they can do is caricature, misrepresent and defame them.

In reality, All-American-Muslim purports to be fighting "Islamophobia." That is a claim that the show makes about itself in the beginning of the very first episode. Yet it then goes on to depict Muslims who by their own account aren't observant, and so not reading the texts and teachings that Islamic jihadists use to justify violence -- and so they're not the kind of people who would have given rise to any suspicion of Muslims in the first place. If All-American Muslim had said it was fighting "Islamophobia" and then shown pious, devout Muslims teaching other Muslims that the interpretation of Islam of al-Qaeda and other jihadists was all wrong, we might have had something useful. If they'd shown Muslims fighting against terror, it might have been inspiring.

And if they'd simply have left "Islamophobia" out of it and shown people from a Muslim background living their lives, it might have been an enjoyable show without pretending to deal with larger political and societal issues.

As such it is just misleading. I never called for advertisers to drop the show, and neither did my colleague Pamela Geller -- contrary to widely published claims. But if Lowe's and 63 others decided to do so, they are perfectly within their rights and should not be harassed or intimidated.

"Group Says Lowe’s Is One of 64 Companies to Pull Ads From ‘All-American Muslim,’" by Jorge Rivas for Color Lines, December 13 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

The conservative Christian group that’s claiming responsibility for home improvement chain Lowe’s pulling their ads from the reality show “All American Muslim” says there are 64 other companies that have cancelled their ad buys for the show as a result of their e-mail campaign.

McDonalds, Amazon and Bank of America are among the companies the Florida Family Association (FFA) says they’ve targeted to get their commercials off the reality tv show “All American Muslim.” Lowe’s was the first to make headlines because they’re the only company to confirm they canceled ad buys as a result of the the conservative group’s campaign.

“While we continue to advertise on various cable networks, including TLC, there are certain programs that do not meet Lowe’s advertising guidelines, including the show you brought to our attention. Lowe’s will no longer be advertising on that program” a representative for Lowe’s wrote in a statement.

“The show profiles only Muslims that appear to be ordinary folks while excluding many Islamic believers whose agenda poses a clear and present danger to liberties and traditional values that the majority of Americans cherish,” read one of FFA’s emails to it’s members that urged them to contact dozens of companies and ask them to “discontinue advertising on this show.”

According to the Muslim Public Affairs Council, FFA’s campaign against “All-American Muslim” stems from the work of two “infamous Islamophobes” writers Robert Spencer, author of “The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran,” and Pamela Geller, author of “Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance.”

“The main danger of All-American Muslim is that it’s misleading,” wrote Geller in an article reprinted by FFA. “The Muslims portrayed in the show are free to choose their path. That is the beauty of living in a free society. But so many aren’t. … Who speaks for Jessica Mokdad, who lived not far from where this show is taping, in Dearborn, Michigan? Mokdad was honor murdered by her stepfather, Rahim Alfetlawi, for ‘not following Islam.’”

There are, however, some sane voices jumping into this mind-boggling debate.

“Lowe’s should be ashamed for succumbing to this type of bigotry,” said Deana Nassar, Muslim Public Affairs Council’s Hollywood Liaison on the group’s website. “The show is an important effort to portray the everyday lives of a group of normal, mainstream Muslim Americans. Caving into the fear campaign initiated by thinly veiled hate groups sends the wrong message at the wrong time.”

Mia Farrow and Russell Simmons have called for a boycott of Lowe’s on Twitter, with Simmons promising to “sic every civil rights agency on (Lowe’s) until they straighten this out.” A representative for Simmons also confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that he will buy any remaining ad space on the show to promote the RushCard, a prepaid Visa credit card.

MoveOn.org has also started a petition calling on the companies FFA targeted to continue buying air time on “All American Muslim.”

Or else.

And the bigots and haters over at Hamas-linked CAIR, an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror funding case that has seen several of its officials convicted for terror-related crimes, are crying "bigotry." Apparently Lowe's, since it initially advertised on the misleading All-American Muslim show, must advertise on it forever or be cast out of politically correct Paradise. In a sane world, this would be called a shakedown.

More on this story. "California Senator Threatens Boycott After Lowe's Pulls Ads from Muslim-American Reality Show," from the Associated Press, December 11 (thanks to all who sent this in):

LOS ANGELES – A state senator from Southern California was considering calling for a boycott of Lowe's stores after the home improvement chain pulled its advertising from a reality show about Muslim-Americans.

Calling the retail giant's decision "un-American" and "naked religious bigotry," Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press on Sunday that he would also consider legislative action if Lowe's doesn't apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads. The senator sent a letter outlining his complaints to Lowe's Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Niblock.

The retail giant stopped advertising on TLC's "All-American Muslim" after a group called the Florida Family Association complained the show was "propaganda that riskily hides the Islamic agenda's clear and present danger to American liberties and traditional values."

The program premiered last month and chronicles the lives of five families from Dearborn, Mich., a Detroit suburb with a large Muslim and Arab-American population.

"The show is about what it's like to be a Muslim in America, and it touches on the discrimination they sometimes face. And that kind of discrimination is exactly what's happening here with Lowe's," Lieu said.

The Florida group sent three emails to its members, asking them to petition Lowe's to pull its advertising. Its website was updated to say that "supporters' emails to advertisers make a difference."

Suehaila Amen, whose family is featured on "All-American Muslim," said she was disappointed by the Lowe's decision.

"I'm saddened that any place of business would succumb to bigots and people trying to perpetuate their negative views on an entire community," Amen, 32, told The Detroit News on Sunday.

Lowe's issued a statement Sunday apologizing for having "managed to make some people very unhappy." The North Carolina-based company did not say whether it would reinstate advertising on the show.

The apology doesn't go far enough, Lieu said. The senator vowed to look into whether Lowe's violated any California laws and said he would also consider drafting a senate resolution condemning the company's actions.

"We want to raise awareness so that consumers will know during this holiday shopping season that Lowe's is engaging in religious discrimination," he said.

Religious discrimination? You mean Lowe's is advertising on all the Christian and Jewish reality shows, but not on the Muslim one? Actually the show itself is a manifestation of religious discrimination, since there is no counterpart to it depicting people of any other faith.

In addition to an apology and reinstatement of the ads, Lieu said he hoped Lowe's would make an outreach to the community about bias and bigotry....

"Individuals and groups have strong political and societal views on this topic, and this program became a lightning rod for many of those views," the company's statement said. "As a result we did pull our advertising on this program. We believe it is best to respectfully defer to communities, individuals and groups to discuss and consider such issues of importance."

Lieu's office said a decision was expected Wednesday or Thursday on whether to proceed with the boycott.

Dawud Walid, Michigan director of the [Hamas-linked] Council on American-Islamic Relations, said his group felt "extreme disappointment" at Lowe's "capitulation to bigotry."

Walid said he has heard expressions of anger and calls for a boycott by Muslims but said a key to resolving the Lowe's advertising controversy will be how non-Muslim religious leaders and others react to Lowe's decision.

"I will be picking up the phone tomorrow to some of our friends and allies to explain the situation to them," Walid said Sunday.

Paul Derengowski was, until recently, a professor at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, Texas. He tells the story in an email to Jihad Watch:

My name is Paul Derengowski, and I was hired by Tarrant County College in 2008 to teach Great World Religions, Bible History I & II, and Introduction to Philosophy.

On November 8, 2011, I gave the second of a two-part lecture on Islam, as I've been doing Spring, Fall, and sometimes twice in the Summer, dealing with Islamic history and doctrine, and more particularly Muhammad's move to Medina. A question had been raised by two Muslim students in the previous the lecture concerning the sources I used to discuss the raid at Nakhlah. At the start of the second lecture I provided my sources (The Life of Muhammad by Haykal and the Qur'an), which included reading Sura 2:216-217. That is when all hell broke loose.

Both Muslim students, for an hour, berated me, my sources, and my credentials. When other students in the class attempted to ask questions or make comments, then the Muslim students would interrupt them as well. Finally, toward the end of the class period, a student made a comment on how "scary" the person of Muhammad seemed to be. That's when the male Muslim blurted out "you ought to be scared," and then bolted for the door in a fit of outrage. I subsequently filed a campus police report on him out of concern for the safety of students and myself. The female followed suit as well, claiming later in a libelous email she passed around unbeknownst to me—that is, until one of the students forwarded the diatribe to me later—that she was not going to sit there and listen to me slander her religion, even though all I did was quote from Islamic sources.

It was the libelous email that really started the wheels in motion leading up to my resignation. The female Muslim student not only stealthily sent around the email to all the rest of the students in the class to (1) defame me behind my back, but also to (2) try and gather support for her reckless behavior. She ended up with zero support from anyone. In it she made the same baseless claims of slandering Islam, but included some selective quotes from a couple of Mormon bloggers who had done what she was doing, and that is malign me in a malicious way, as well as a portion of blog I had written in 2009 on the Abdulmuttalab idiot who tried to blow up the plane over Detroit.

Both Muslim students then turned to TCC administration to make their specious complaints. The sad thing is, as if what these students did was not sad enough, is that the administration kowtowed to them, called me in and questioned everything from my syllabus (which was already approved and essentially the same ever since 2008) to my motives for teaching, to the banner on my website dealing with Islam. I was informed that I was to teach "neutral" in my views on religion, my opinions and insights were not welcome, that the remainder of my syllabus would be nixed, and that I was to strictly abide by the department approved book (which in reality, I was the one who even selected it for the course). None of the other students were called in and questioned as to what happened. After a veiled threat concerning my employment for failure to abide by the neutrality mandate, I subsequently resigned.

Since my resignation on Nov. 15, I've received several letters of support from the remaining students, as well as notes of encouragement from past students for standing my ground. There are currently, at least, three grievances that have been filed by the students in the class with the administration, yet the administration continues to drag its feet. It has done NOTHING! TCC administration claims that an investigation is ongoing, but no one has ever been spoken to on the matter.

As of today, I've been interviewed by CBS, FOX, KLIF-Dallas, and The Collegian, as well as have several of my students, but as much as I appreciate some of the effort, the two Muslim students have gone unscathed in this whole matter. Grades have been overturned in their favor, which is a clear violation of TCC policy, as well as another slap in my face for acting in an appropriate manner when students are insubordinate, and they've been allowed to return to class, without repercussion, while several of the students in the class are now suffering discrimination, disrespect, forfeiture of return on money invested by their companies for taking certain classes, and lower grades. It is truly a despicable thing the TCC administration has allowed at what I termed a "terroristic act of jihad."

This is the Cliff Notes version of what has transpired. There are many more details and the story only keeps getting uglier. I hope this helps you to understand just a little of what has gone on, and is going on, these past weeks, as the "religion of peace" and its followers wreak havoc once again upon American soil, education, and freedom.

If you need to speak to me directly, you may contact me at apologetics@capro.info. Thank you.

Why we don't see more Muslim reformers, part 578. And these aren't real reformers in any case, as you can see from their reference below to "Islamophobes." "Islamophobia" is a manipulative coinage invented by the Muslim Brotherhood to silence criticism of Islamic supremacism and jihad; that Manji and Dibi would buy into it casts doubts upon their interest in genuine Islamic reform. Manji, for her part, touts recovery of a fantasy Islam of her own making that she claims existed in the mythic past. Self-delusion and deception are not reform. But the fact that she dares criticize Islam in its present form in any way brought out the Allahu-akbaring thugs.

"Salafists disrupt liberal Islam debate in Amsterdam," by Heleen Sittig for Radio Netherlands, December 8 (thanks to David):

Radical Belgian Muslims disrupted a debate on Wednesday evening about a liberal approach to Islam. The leading debaters were Canadian writer and Muslim activist Irshad Manji and Green Left Party MP Tofik Dibi. Both describe themselves as liberal Muslims.

The debate at the Balie venue in Amsterdam consisted of a dialogue between Manji and Dibi about "how reformist Muslims can prevent the Islam debate from being hijacked by extremists, be they Islamophobes or radical Muslims". Irshad Manji, a known critic of Islam, is the author of The Islam Dilemma.

A group of 30 Islamists waving the Salafist flag entered the hall and began shouting "Sharia for Holland". They threatened and spat on Ms Manji. The Islamists, who also threw raw eggs, demanded that the debate participants leave the stage; the debaters refused. Mr Dibi later tweeted that the debate “about a promising new generation of Muslims” was later continued at the request of Ms Manji.

Eventually, the police were called in to remove the protestors. A police spokesperson later said that two of the 22 men involved were arrested, one for making threats, and one for insulting Ms Manji. Tofik Dibi accompanied her to the police station where she filed a report.

Tofik Dibi, speaking later the same evening on public TV talkshow Pauw & Witteman, said that “the disruption of the debate shows that it is necessary to continue the debate on a free and moderate Islam.” Ms Manji added that she had experienced her share of fierce opposition but that she had never before seen anything like this....

Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders tweeted: “Dibi does not deserve eggs from radical Muslims or disruption of the meeting. He must be able to say what he wants.”

Her household was only "moderately religious," and yet she still feels threatened enough to lead a double life. Apparently her parents are yet more Misunderstanders of the Religion of Peace. This girl has good reason to be afraid: Aqsa Parvez was murdered by her father for not wearing the hijab, and Rifqa Bary was slapped by hers for the same reason. Then there is Islam's death penalty for apostates: Muhammad said, "If anyone changes his religion, kill him." Some schools of Islamic jurisprudence, however, allow for the imprisonment of a female apostate until she recants her apostasy.

"IAmA 21 yr old Muslim girl who wears the headscarf but has led a double-life kept hidden from my family for the last 3 years," by Undercover 2011 at Reddit.com, November 26 (thanks to Just Kaafir):

I am 21 years old and was bought up in a moderately religious Muslim family. My mother wears the burkha and is extremely religious. She is very spiritually connected to God and encourages the whole family to be more religious but she is not violent or forceful. My father is quite strict but he is more culturally inclined (Pakistani) than religiously.

I am the eldest child and have had to fight for pretty much every ounce of independence in my life that most Westerners would not have to worry about e.g. going to college, going to university. Once I started university, I was not allowed to live there. I had to endure a two hour commute (four hours altogether to travel there and then return on a GOOD traffic day) four days a week for three years.

No one at my university knows I am a Muslim. I remove my headscarf and change my clothes. I kept this up for three years and graduated with a first class honours degree in Medicine. At home, my parents have no idea that whilst at university; I have changed a lot. I've become more confident, better-read (obviously) and I have come to the conclusion that there is no God. When the holidays roll around, I do not see friends or go out. I'm not allowed to leave the house or even work outside of my small town (a 'suburb' of [BLANKBLANKBLANK] I guess you would call it in American terms!)

None of my friends (all are from university and live all over the country or outside the country) know my home address, home number or home situation. I've never once partied with them or done any of the normal student things because I have always made excuses. They have no idea. In their minds, I'm very well-read, very studious and hardworking and the last person on earth who would have a religious faith (mainly because I have become more and more hardline atheist over the last three years).

I'm planning on doing a PhD in [BLANKBLANKBLANK] but my family have no idea. They do not support me in my career ambitions and I am pretty sure their long-term view is that I will settle in my small town, allow myself to be coaxed into some marriage and work at the local Walmart. I plan to leave without telling them. I just had to share this somewhere.

Oh, and before any Muslims rebuke me or call me a disgrace - understand one thing. I made a consenting, informed choice to leave my religion. The fact of the matter is, my parents are Muslims and they use the name of Allah to keep me chained to them and to make me submit to their plans for my life. This is not what the religion preaches but this is how some people who mix up culture and religion go about these things and my parents are an example. They would never support me not wearing a hijab (head covering) or saying I don't believe in God. It's all or nothing for them. They also have never understood me or my educational aspirations or my career aspirations. I've grown up feeling incredibly isolated and alone and I do not blame Islam or Muslims for any of it. Religion is a card many people play in order to justify crap.

UPDATE 4: As people have been asking me to tell more stories, I made a blog - http://uncovered2011.wordpress.com I will probably update that daily. I find it a more organised and coherent way of talking about my story and issues. Reddit is a bit confusing and often very repetitive!

Defiance in the face of Islamic supremacist intimidation and thuggery. Bravo. "French paper reprints Mohammad cartoon after fire-bomb," by Brian Love for Reuters, November 3:

(Reuters) - A French satirical weekly whose office was fire bombed after it printed a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad has reproduced the image with other caricatures in a special supplement distributed with one of the country's leading newspapers.

The weekly Charlie Hebdo defended "the freedom to poke fun" in the four-page supplement, which was wrapped around copies of the left-wing daily Liberation on Thursday, a day after an arson attack gutted Charlie Hebdo's Paris headquarters.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, which took place hours before an edition of Charlie Hebdo hit news stands featuring a cover-page cartoon of Mohammad and a speech bubble with the words: "100 lashes if you don't die of laughter."

The weekly, known for its irreverent treatment of the political establishment and religious figures, bore the headline "Charia Hebdo," in a reference to Muslim sharia law, and said that week's issue had been guest-edited by Mohammad.

The incident pits Europe's tradition of free speech and secularism against Islam's injunction barring any depictions seen as mocking the prophet. The publication of cartoons of Mohammad in a Danish newspaper in 2005 sparked unrest in the Muslim world in which at least 50 people were killed.

While French Muslim groups criticized Charlie Hebdo's work, they also condemned the fire-bomb attack. The head of the Paris Mosque, Dalil Boubakeur, told a news conference on Thursday: "I am extremely attached to freedom of the press, even if the press is not always tender with Muslims, Islam or the Paris Mosque."

"French Muslims have nothing to do with political Islam," he said.

Abderrahmane Dahmane, a Muslim former presidential adviser on religious diversity, said he was not shocked by the Charlie Hebdo front-page and joked himself about the matter.

"We have a sense of humor in the world of Islam ... what we sometimes say about Islam and the prophet, among ourselves and in the presence of Imams, is worse than what Charlie Hebdo wrote," he quipped.

Pull my other leg, Dahmane. If that were true, then why was Charlie Hebdo firebombed, and why is the OIC pursuing an all-out campaign to force the West to criminalize criticism of Islam?

Following the fire bombing, Charlie Hebdo staff moved temporarily into the offices of Liberation. The two publications jointly produced Thursday's supplement, which reproduced the Charlie Hebdo cartoon in an article on the back page.

One headline in the supplement said: "After their office blaze, this team defends the 'freedom to poke fun'."

"We thought the lines had moved and that maybe there would be more respect for our satirical work, our right to mock. Freedom to have a good laugh is as important as freedom of speech," Charlie Hebdo editor Stephane Charbonnier said in the supplement.

The supplement included several new drawings by Charlie Hebdo cartoonists. In one, a prophet-like figure tries to restrain his billowing robes in a pose reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe as a draft blows up from Charlie Hebdo newspapers below him. Another shows an airborne fire-bomb with a face in the flames and the caption, "So, is this how you see the prophet?"...

Charbonnier told Reuters his newspaper planned to print another 175,000 copies of this week's edition in the coming days after the first print run of 75,000 copies sold out fast.

Luz, the cartoonist who drew the cover cartoon at the center of the controversy, said it was still unclear who had carried out the attack.

"Let's be cautious. There's every reason to believe it's the work of fundamentalists but it could just as well be the work of two drunks," he said in the Thursday supplement.

Hey Luz, keep up the wishful thinking at that high a level, and pretty soon you'll be working for the Obama Administration.

Now comes the challenge. Will France stand up for the freedom of speech? Will France and the West capitulate to the calls that are sure to come in the wake of this bombing to stop "provoking" Muslims, and to effectively rule Islam off-limits for criticism? More on this story: "French satirical newspaper firebombed after prophet Mohammed announcement," by Henry Samuel in the Telegraph, November 2 (thanks to all who sent this in):

The offices of French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo have been destroyed by a petrol bomb, a day after it named the Prophet Mohammed as its “editor-in-chief” for this week’s issue.

The fiercely anti-clerical magazine said the move, which included renaming the publication “Sharia Hebdo”, was intended to "celebrate" the victory of Islamist party Ennhada in Tunisia's election.

Charlie Hedbo's editor-in-chief, known as Charb, told France Info radio: "We no longer have a newspaper. All our equipment has been destroyed or has melted."

No injuries have been reported

A single Molotov cocktail was thrown at the offices of Charlie Hebdo in Paris’s 20th arrondissement at around 1am. The ensuing fire was rapidly put out, but a large amount of material in the office was destroyed, police said.

“We cannot, today, put together a paper,” said Charb. “But we will do everything possible to do one next week. Whatever happens, we’ll do it. There is no question of giving in,” he said, adding that the magazine is filing a legal complaint against persons unkown.

According to Europe 1 radio, police are searching for two suspects seen near the scene.

Charlie Hebdo's website has also been hacked with a message in English and Turkish cursing the magazine.

The message said: "You keep abusing Islam's almighty Prophet with disgusting and disgraceful cartoons using excuses of freedom of speech.

"Be God's curse upon you!"

Editor Charb said the attackers could not even have read the offending magazine.

"The arsonists haven't read this paper, nobody knows what's in the paper except those who buy it this morning. People are reacting violently to a paper without knowing anything of its contents, that's what's most abhorrent and stupid," he told BFM TV.

The publication, historically famous for pillorying Catholic clericalism, was criticised by Muslims in 2007 after reprinting the Danish cartoons of the prophet Mohammad that caused outrage around the Islamic world.

Charb said the magazine had received “quite a few letters of protest, threats, insults” on Twitter and Facebook before the attack, but not as many as in 2007.

Ennahda won the most seats in Tunisia's October elections and is now trying to form a coalition caretaker government. It has promised to work with more liberal parties, and respect gender equality.

"To fittingly celebrate the victory of the Islamist Ennahda party in Tunisia... Charlie Hebdo has asked Mohammed to be the special editor-in-chief of its next issue", the magazine said in a statement.

"The prophet of Islam didn't have to be asked twice and we thank him for it," the statement said.

The cover of this week’s issue, out on Wednesday, shows Mohammed saying: "100 lashes if you don’t die of laughter".

It also includes an editorial by the Prophet entitled Halal Aperitif and a women's supplement called Madam Sharia.

Behind the humour, the editorial’s message is serious: “No religion is compatible with democracy from the moment a political party representing it wants to take power in the name of God”.

“What would be the point of a religious party taking power if it didn’t apply its ideas,” it goes on. “Hello, we are the Bolchevik party and if you vote for us we promise never to speak of Communism…Come on.”...

Jean-Luc Melenchon, presidential candidate for the leftist Front de Gauche party called the attack "repulsive", and called on the French "to the have the intellectual discipline not to confuse a handful of imbeciles, numbskulls who will severely punished, I hope, with the vast majority of our Muslim compatriots who practice their faith perfectly calmly".

Of course. But when is that "vast majority" going to rein in the other guys?

"Blasphemy doesn't exist as a crime, this is the French Republic; that's the law (on freedom of the press)," he said.

Mohammed Moussaoui, president of the French Council for the Muslim Faith (CFCM), said he "firmly condemned" the arson attack if it proved criminal.

The CFCM lost a court case against Charlie Hebdo in 2006 for re-printing Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed but denounced "the apology of violent Muslims".

He said this issue was "not on the same level" of provocation, but added: "The very fact of caricaturing the Prophet is considered an offense to Muslims".

Yeah, we all get offended by this or that. The question is, What do you do then?

CharlieHebdoMuhammad.jpgFirebomb if you don't find this funny

How long is the West going to put up with this? There are two choices: stand up for the freedom of speech and prosecute the Islamic thugs who are trying to destroy it, either by violent or non-violent means; or surrender, and place Islam and Muslims beyond criticism, in which case their jihad and the spread of Sharia in the West will advance unimpeded.

"Satirical Magazine Is Firebombed in Paris," by David Jolly for the New York Times, November 2 (thanks to all who sent this in):

PARIS — The office of a French satirical magazine here was badly damaged by a firebomb early on Wednesday, the publisher said, after it published a spoof issue “guest edited” by the Prophet Muhammad to salute the victory of an Islamist party in Tunisian elections. The publication also said hackers disrupted its Web site.

The magazine, Charlie Hebdo, had announced a special issue for publication Wednesday, renamed “Charia Hebdo,” a play on the word in French for Shariah law.

The magazine’s publisher, who goes by the name of Charb, told Europe 1 radio that the police had called just before 5 a.m. to report a fire of criminal origin. News reports said that a Molotov cocktail was thrown through a window. The special edition was on its way to the newsstands, Charb said, and will appear as scheduled.

But, he added, “We are homeless and we have no way to put out the magazine. We hope this won’t be the last issue.”

“We can’t put out the magazine under these conditions,” he said. “The stocks are burned, smoke is everywhere, the paste-up board is unusable, everything is melted, there’s no more electricity.”

That's what they wanted.

The magazine’s Web site was hacked earlier, but appeared to have been restored by early Wednesday.

Caustically ironic and vulgar, Charlie Hebdo prides itself on being offensive to virtually everyone. It has drawn the ire of Muslim activists before, including in 2006, after it republished cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that first appeared in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

Note to the New York Times: Muhammad is not universally recognized as a prophet.

Outside the magazine’s office, there were still traces of smoke, with huge piles of half-burned copies of the magazine heaped on the sidewalk. Inside, the office was darkened from smoke and melted computers spoke to the seriousness of the damage.

Pamela Geller has here the actual letter that Steve Eckley, a senior vice president of the management company that runs the Hutton Hotel, sent to Lou Ann Zelenik. He says that "at least two of your speakers have a history of enraging people to the point of violence." That would be, as is clear from his earlier statements, Geller and me.

Now, in fact, neither Pamela Geller nor I have ever advocated or approved of violent action. So if someone is enraged to the point of violence by what we say, the responsibility lies entirely with him, not with us. And if Islamic supremacists and their Leftist allies have threatened violence if we speak, as it appears that they have, the police should be called in and these threats investigated, and the right of free citizens to free speech and freedom of assembly upheld. Instead, Eckley blames us for Islamic supremacist irrational violence and rage, and encourages more of that violence by showing that the threat of it gets results.

"Nashville hotel blocks Zelenik's anti-Sharia conference," by Scott Broden for DNJ.com, October 25:

MURFREESBORO — Lou Ann Zelenik started searching for a new place for "The Constitution or Sharia?: Preserving Freedom Conference" Monday after learning a Nashville hotel canceled its Nov. 11 booking.

"It's ridiculous that they chose to silence our freedom to speak," said Zelenik, a Murfreesboro resident who came in second in a close Republican primary in 2010 against U.S. Rep. Diane Black of Gallatin. "They canceled it because they got threats. The Islamic extremists won, as far as I'm concerned."

A company official with oversight of Hutton Hotel contends that Zelenik is wrong.

"This has nothing to do with freedom to speak," said Steve Eckley, a senior vice president of the management company that runs the Hutton Hotel. "This has everything to do with making sure we are protecting our employees, our guests and our property.

"We were very concerned about protests, and those protests turning ugly. Several of the calls that we received led us to believe there was going to be organized protests," he said. "We have no issue with the organization whatsoever. But because of two of their very inflammatory speakers, we were concerned about those protests."

Pamela put it best: "My defense of freedom of speech and freedom of conscience enrages Islamic supremacists to the point of violence, and that is our fault." Yes it is, in today's Orwellian society.

Eckley confirmed that Pamela Geller of Stop Islamization of America was one of them and that her involvement is mentioned as a concern on the Anti-Defamation League's website, which is dedicated to stopping the defamation of the Jewish people and securing justice and fair treatment to all.

"They protect everyone," Eckley said.

Note how Eckley contradicts himself: he says he has no problem with our message, but is just concerned about violence. Then he cites two hard-Left reports that smear us for our message.

And of course the local Islamic center is pleased by their denial of the freedom of speech:

Islamic Center of Murfreesboro member Saleh Sbenaty said he thinks the hotel did the right thing.

"We as citizens support the First Amendment, whether that be freedom of religion or freedom of speech, but hate speech cannot be called freedom of speech," said Sbenaty, a 19-year MTSU professor in the Department of Engineering Technology. "The United States does not stand for bigotry or exclusion. The United States is an open country that welcomes people of all faiths and all traditions, including the Muslim tradition."

The problem with this is that "hate speech" is in the eye of the beholder. Sbenaty would doubtless not characterize a sermon based on Qur'an 9:5 or 9:29 or 4:34 or 5:33 or 4:89 or 47:4, etc., as hate speech, but others would differ. Ultimately hate speech laws are tools in the hands of the powerful to silence dissent. And that's just what the Islamic supremacists want to do.

More on Eckley's lies and cowardice here and here.

Confirming yet again that terrorism works, and that all too many Americans no longer have the courage of their forefathers to defend liberty at whatever cost. Islamic supremacists threatened the hotel over our conference, and the hotel immediately gave in to their violent intimidation. "Conference on Islam canceled as hotel fears head-bashing: Corporate exec reacted to warning 'protests could erupt into violence,'" by Art Moore for WorldNetDaily, October 24:

For the second time in less than a week, a major U.S. hotel has canceled an agreement to host an event on radical Islam's threat to America's freedoms, due to threatening messages to management.

The Preserving Freedom Conference, scheduled for Nov. 11 at the top-rated Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., features Robert Spencer, author of 10 books about Islam and director of Jihad Watch, and Pamela Geller, a WND columnist, editor of the blog Atlas Shrugs and author of the book "Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance." WND is a co-sponsor of the conference.

Steve Eckley, senior vice president of hotels for Amerimar Enterprises in Denver – the Hutton Hotel's managing corporation, told WND it was his decision to cancel the event.

Eckley said he "wasn't exactly sure what the content of the program was," but he explained that he canceled it because of the threat of physical harm to people at the hotel.

"They were veiled threats that there were going to be protests that could easily erupt into violence," he told WND in a telephone interview.

Sessions planned for the conference include "The European Experience" with Shariah, "Religious Persecution Under Shariah," "The Dehumanization and Diminishment of Women in the West Under Shariah," "The Muslim Brotherhood In America" and "Fighting Islamist Propaganda in the Media."

Spencer and Geller are co-founders of the activist group Stop Islamization of America, which helped lead opposition to the so-called Ground Zero mosque in New York City.

As WND reported last week, the Hyatt Place Hotel in Sugar Land, Texas, near Houston, canceled a tea party event featuring Geller after complaints reportedly by the [Hamas-linked] Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR. The D.C.-based Islamic group has sued the co-author of a WND Books expose, "Muslim Mafia," which documents CAIR's founding as a front for the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent of terrorist groups such as al-Qaida and Hamas....

Pamela Geller has the story. If you value the freedom of speech, start calling and writing the hotel now. Here is Pamela's report:

The Hutton Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee is now sharia-compliant.

Steve Eckley, Senior Vice-President of Hutton Hotel, has caved to Islamic supremacist demands and cancelled our entire Preserving Freedom Conference scheduled for November 11th in Nashville. Eckley notified us that they will not honor our contract. Steve said that if we showed up we would not be let in. He said he has been getting threatening letters and calls. We are currently awaiting the written notification of the cancellation.

Steve Eckley's phone number is 720 318 4238. He said he would not let us in the hotel if we showed up.  He was so ugly and hostile, it was shocking.

I was a scheduled keynote speaker, along with Robert Spencer, Wafa Sultan, Mark Durie, William Murray, Father Keith Roderick, and a host of voices for freedom.

This is the second time in no less than a week that a major hotel has capitulated to intimidation and demands to enforce the blasphemy laws under the sharia here in America. Opposing the most radical and extreme ideology on the face of the earth is now forbidden in the war of ideas.

Just last week the Hyatt Place in Sugarland canceled a tea party event where I was scheduled to speak. They have since apologized, but that is hardly enough. Free speech, the cornerstone of our constitutional republic, is in serious jeopardy. Under the Shariah, criticism of Islam is blasphemy (punishable by death in Muslim countries living under the Shariah). This is the death of free speech in the continuing Islamization of America. This is yet another shattering demonstration of why I wrote my book Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance.

The silencing of free speech is key to the islamization of America.

Americans must boycott these cowardly enterprises and raise their voices in protest.

Nashville is a gateway city for refugee resettlement -- whole Muslim communities are resettled in "gateway" cities like Lewiston, Maine; Shelbyville, Tennessee; St. Cloud, Minnesota; Clarkston, Georgia; and Jamestown, North Dakota. Nashville has one of the country's highest Muslim populations.

I strongly urge all Atlas readers contact the Hutton Hotel and voice your concern with the abridgment of our cherished and hard-fought freedoms. This continuing restriction of free speech is a key front in the war on the truth. Your future, your children's future and that of our country is at stake. I cannot impress this upon you enough.

Get this out to your lists, your friends, and all the freedom lovers that you know.

This cannot stand. Start calling. Now.

UPDATE: The cretins at Hutton Hotel are referring callers to their PR firm. Don't accept that. Politely insist upon speaking with hotel senior management. The attempt to blow you off to their spinmeisters at their highly paid PR firm is not going to cut it.

Check this out -- here's the latest info from Steve Gill:

Mr. Eckley told me that they cancelled the event because of "risk to their property and staff" and numerous threatening calls they received. I asked him where the threats were coming from and he refused to answer that. He indicated he did not contact the FBI or Homeland Security or local police, because he cancelled the event and there was no need to do so. I asked him if the hotel gets a bomb threat over a particular event to they simply cancel the event and fail to contact police in that case, too? He then hung up stating I was "so right wing" he didn't want to talk any longer. The hotel has referred any contacts to their pr agency.

Bart Ehrman is a New Testament scholar; according to Answering Muslims, "Muslims love to quote Bart Ehrman, because Ehrman criticizes the New Testament....he holds that it hasn't been perfectly preserved, that it contains contradictions, and that it isn't the inspired Word of God..."

But in the video above (via Answering Muslims, with thanks to The Religion of Peace), he offers a very brief and simple explanation of why he doesn't undertake similar study of the Qur'an: he doesn't want to get murdered.

Well, no one wants to get murdered, but people who have not feared to go wherever the truth may take them are more worthy of emulation than those who cower before violent intimidation. It is true that there has been less critical study of the Qur'an and the origins of Islam than there has of the New Testament and the origins of Christianity, and this can largely be attributed to fear of violence.

But a small group of courageous scholars are pursuing such investigations of Islam, and in my next book, I discuss their discoveries. Yesterday I turned in the completed manuscript of my new book, Did Muhammad Exist? An Inquiry Into Islam's Obscure Origins, to its publisher, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI). It will be out in the spring. In it, I discuss the surprisingly shaky historical foundations of Islam, including in-depth examinations of the earliest records of Muhammad's life, and the little-known story of the origins of the Qur'an.

I expect that the book will be...controversial. But to those who might be moved by it to violence, I say, unlike Ehrman, that I will never, ever bow to violent intimidation. And also: Why are you so afraid of the truth?

"If the state government fails to respond within the next 24 hours, over 10,000 Muslims along with muftis and maulanas shall stage demonstrations after the Friday afternoon namaaz all over Mumbai." Islamic Tolerance Alert: "'Azaan' Movie Name Hurts Muslims : SP," from IANS, October 12:

Mumbai, Oct 12 (IANS) Bollywood movie "Azaan", scheduled to be released Friday, has run into rough weather after a Samajwadi Party leader from the city approached the Bombay High Court, saying the film's name hurts Muslim sentiments.

The case was filed after Naeem Akhtar Azmi, the mufti (chief priest) of Sunni Darul-Uloom Mohammediya Minara Masjid, Wednesday issued a 'fatwa' that no film can be named after 'azaan' -- the auspicious call to prayers to Muslim faithful.

The 'fatwa' came in response to an open query posed by Mumbai Samajwadi Party vice-president Farookh Ghosi.

"Following the fatwa, I have filed a writ petition in the high court seeking the court's directions to file an FIR (first information report) against the movie producers, director and actors for abusing and exploiting the holy name of 'azaan' for commercial gains, which has hurt Muslim sentiments," Ghosi told IANS.

The petitioner has also demanded a stay on the global release of the film Friday and a ban on the movie till the producers change its name.

The petition is expected to come up for hearing in a day or so, and Ghosi said he has written to the state government seeking its urgent intervention in the matter.

"If the state government fails to respond within the next 24 hours, over 10,000 Muslims along with muftis and maulanas shall stage demonstrations after the Friday afternoon namaaz all over Mumbai," Ghosi warned.

He could object all he wanted. He could tell the "Zombie Muhammad" guy in no uncertain terms that he considered his costume offensive and insulting. But when he physically attacks him, he is crossing a line that we have not often seen crossed in America. Are we going to stand idly by while our traditions of tolerance are eroded away, for fear of incurring charges of "intolerance"? Can a tolerant society indefinitely tolerate the presence of adherents of a radically intolerant ideology?

"Zombie Muhammad? Atheist attacked by Muslim during Halloween parade," by Michael Stone for the Examiner, October 12 (thanks to all who sent this in):

Tuesday, an Atheist wearing a “Zombie Muhammad” costume while marching in a local Pennsylvania Halloween parade was attacked by a Muslim.

According to reports, the Parading Atheists of Central Pennsylvania (PACP) were marching in a Halloween parade in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, when a Muslim stormed out of the hometown crowd to assault one of the marching atheists who happened to be wearing a Zombie Muhammad costume.

The atheist in the Zombie Muhammad costume was proclaiming that he was the Prophet Muhammad, risen from the dead. Apparently the words and costume offended a Muslim man, who came out of the audience and began to follow and harass the atheist dressed as Zombie Muhammad before actually choking the atheist.

Subsequently, a police report was filed, and charges in the matter are pending.

Writing Allah's name on a shower stall: haram. Smashing glasses and beer bottles and menacing people over Allah's name being written on a hotel shower stall: halal. "Lamu Muslims Up in Arms Over Hotel Shower Graffiti," from the Nairobi Star, October 10 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

There was drama on Lamu island after hundreds of Muslim faithfuls stormed a hotel protesting against Islamic inscriptions in a swimming pool shower stall. The angry youths led by sheikhs, imams and civic leaders claimed the inscription was offensive because their religion does not allow 'Allahu' (God) to be written where people are naked.

They then moved to Petlizz bar where they overturned chairs and smashed glasses and beer bottles while calling for the closure of the recreational facility and threatening to set the building ablaze. Area Officer Commanding Station Francis Tumbo was forced to intervene and closed two bars on the premises to ease the tension. Security personnel had a hard time controlling the youths and it took the intervention of councillors, imams and the police to cool them down.

However, they camped outside the building demanding the arrest of the girl, Rahima, they claim wrote on the wall. "This is very wrong. How can a person write the name of Allah at a place where people go naked to take a bath and do other evil things? We want action to be taken against the suspect and we shall not move until she is arrested," a protester shouted outside the bar.

The protestors remained at the hotel for more than four hours chanting the Takhbir solidarity slogan [That's "Allahu akbar" -- RS] and the Muslim call to mass action while condemning the act. Security personnel from the police and Kenya Army kept vigil and monitored the building. Mohamed Abdulkhadir from the Coast Interfaith Council of Clerics who was present at the protests condemened [sic] the act saying it could trigger chaos because it had offended the Islamic faith.

At least he didn't behead him. He must be a moderate. "Wausau Man Attacked With Tire Iron," from WSAU.com, October 8 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

Wausau, Wi (WSAU) A man was attacked on Wausau's east side on Friday afternoon during a reported argument over religion. Witnesses to the attack in the 600 block of Jefferson Street say a man got out of his vehicle, accosted the victim and claimed he had criticized his Muslim religion. The victim denied it but was struck in the head with a tire iron. The attacker then escaped in his vehicle.

Wausau police say the victim knew the attacker but no arrest has been made as of yet. The attack remains under investigation.

The victim better be careful. Pretty soon he could end up being investigated for "Islamophobia."

As always, the Islamic supremacists aren't just talking. "A bistro in the Ruisseau neighborhood of greater Algiers barely escaped an arson attack by a group of men after evening prayers."

"2 Algerian Islamists call for bars to close, saying drinking perverts youth," by Aomar Ouali for the Associated Press, October 5 (thanks to Twostellas):

ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) — Two former ranking members of a banned Islamist party called on Algerians on Wednesday to demand that all bars and stores where alcoholic beverages are sold be shut down.

The two, Hachemi Sahnouni, who helped found the Islamic Salvation Front, and Abderazak Zeraoui Hamadache, said that alcohol is "perverting our youth and destroying our religious morals."

Their bid to end the sale of alcohol is significant because this Muslim North African country is in the process of defeating Islamist insurgents waging war since 1992. The call to close all bars recalls the period referred to as the "black decade" in the 1990s when extremists imposed their will on many villages and cities....

"We call on neighborhood committees to demand the definitive closing of bars and shops selling alcoholic beverages, forbidden by the religion of the prophet," the two said.

In the past few weeks, several incidents have been registered against bars and shops selling alcohol. On Monday, a bistro in the Ruisseau neighborhood of greater Algiers barely escaped an arson attack by a group of men after evening prayers. Police nearby intervened.

The government has been little comfort to bar owners worried about the changing climate.

President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has over the years carefully maneuvered between Muslim fundamentalists and secular citizens of this former French colony. Critics say this lack of firmness has encouraged fundamentalists to make a return.

The Islamic Salvation Front was banned in 1992 after the army canceled legislative elections it was poised to win, triggering the insurgency. An estimated 200,000 have been killed in violence, extremists, security forces and civilians.

Reflecting the sensitivity of the situation, Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia ducked a question Friday about the growing fear of those selling alcoholic beverages, saying only that alcohol causes health problems.

ElGamal.jpg

The other night I watched a British documentary about the Ground Zero mosque controversy (for which I was interviewed, and in which I appear) that portrayed Sharif El-Gamal as a good-hearted schlub who was trying to do a good deed and ended up getting beset by cynical sharpies like Pamela Geller and me. Anything about his criminal past, his glorification of physical violence, his numerous shady financial dealings? Of course not! That wouldn't fit the narrative! But in reality, the man behind the Islamic supremacist Ground Zero Mosque is an Islamic supremacist thug: "Mosque falls short," by Andrea Peyser in the New York Post, September 26:

“We don’t know what they’re really going to do. They’ve said they wanted to do a lot of things,’’ said a board member who asked not to be named for fear of retaliation. Still, he confessed to being weary of the fight.

“It’s been emotionally and physically draining. After the anniversary [of 9/11] passed, I have to distance myself from it.’’

“I don’t trust this guy as far as I can throw him,’’ said another board member, concerned about El-Gamal’s long rap sheet, another thing you’ll never read about in the Times.

El-Gamal has been busted at least seven times since 1990 for DWI and disorderly conduct, and charged with failing to pay more than $200,000 in taxes. Most recently, in 2005, El-Gamal was arrested for assaulting a man who sublet an apartment from his brother, punching the guy and breaking his nose and cheekbone. El-Gamal at first said he didn’t hit the man, but WCBS/Channel 2 discovered records that show El-Gamal conceded “his face could have run into my hand.’’

I tried to talk to El-Gamal and give him a chance to turn me around to the sunny face of Islam. He refused. Can you blame him?...
