Islamic law forbids dhimmis to proselytize. It also forbids Muslims to convert to another religion. Christian evangelization organizations are thus frequently targets of Islamic radicals. This from AP, :
Pakistani police seized a huge cache of explosives and arrested one man in connection with the car bombing of a Christian organization that wounded 15 people.
The suspect, Shamim Ahmed, was arrested Saturday. He then provided information leading police to a bomb-making factory in an abandoned house in this southern port city Sunday night, authorities said.
On Thursday, a grenade and a powerful car bomb exploded at the Pakistan Bible Society, a Christian reading room that also distributes Bibles.
Police say Ahmed is affiliated with the Islamic militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, which has been blamed for attacks that have killed hundreds of people. A senior police official said on condition of anonymity that Ahmed was believed to be linked to the attack on the Christian organization.
Police raiding the unoccupied house in the poor Mehmoodabad district of southeastern Karachi seized a cache that included grenades, remote-control devices, parcel bombs and two ready-to-use bombs weighing about 22 pounds each, said Tariq Jamil, deputy inspector-general of the Karachi police.
