The latest incident marks the second attack on a French Jew within a week. On Sunday, a 17 year-old rabbi’s son was also attacked in a Paris suburb. The teen was beaten up by a group of youngsters who also hurled anti-Semitic insults at him.
Data released by France’s Interior Ministry revealed that 67 anti-Semitic attacks were reported during the first quarter of 2004, a 60% jump compared to the same period last year. The data indicated that Arab youngsters were behind most of the incidents.
