A report from Paris’ Le Figaro via Internet Haganah, with thanks to Ali Dashti:
Great pragmatists as they are in the face of the Eternal, the Islamic fundamentalists never lack imagination when it comes to financing their activities. They have, for example, discreetly extended their tentacles into the Phone Points sector, these small stores offering cut-price international telephone calls. The customers of certain of these establishments do not suspect that they are simultaneously funding the radical Islamist cause as a result of a simple accounting operation. Although the prices announced in these stores, that are subject to control, remain lower than those of the traditional operators, they nevertheless include a surcharge of between 20 and 30 percent that is paid immediately into the Islamist coffers. A discreet and effective way of raising not insignificant sums. And of attracting, alongside innocent customers, a clientele of Islamists only too happy to be combining the chance to save some money with an act of militancy. A practice being closely watched by the police and intelligence services who are also looking at other shops, including food stores, that are bled systematically by the extremists.
