HAMBURG – A court in Germany on Tuesday heard how one of the 11 September suicide pilots mentioned plans to “kill thousands at the World Trade Centre” three years prior to the actual attacks.
Hamburg State Superior court, hearing the retrial of convicted 9/11 accomplish Mounir al-Motassadeq, heard witness testimony that the attacks had been discussed in detail in mid-1999.
One of the 11 September suicide pilots, Marwan Alshehhi, spoke in mid-1999 of causing “thousands of deaths” in the United States, a former librarian said.
She added that she thought he mentioned the World Trade Centre in New York in excited remarks in a Hamburg college library. Her testimony was crucial to Motassadeq’s first conviction last year that was overturned on appeal.
