JAKARTA, A Malaysian who is one of the most wanted terror suspects in Asia made the bomb that exploded outside the Australian embassy in Jakarta last year, a court witness said on Thursday.
Syaiful Bahri told the court that Noordin M. Top, said to be a leading member of the Southeast Asian Jemaah Islamiah group linked to al Qaeda, had ordered the purchase of 250 kg of potassium and used it to make the bomb.
Indonesian authorities have said the suicide bombing that killed 10 people involved young militants recruited by Malaysians Azahari bin Husin and Noordin M. Top.
“I was ordered to buy potassium by Kholid,” Bahri told the South Jakarta court, using one of Top’s aliases. He made no mention of
