Jihad Watch Board Vice President Hugh Fitzgerald has some advice for the 9/11 Commission:
There is a good deal that the Commission members should discuss in public, much that goes beyond this or that dealing with the “terrorist threat.” Above all, the language needs to change — not to reflect reality (that can only happen, apparently, at this and similar websites), but at least to come closer to it. Use of the word “jihad,” allusion to a belief-system that has exhibited, in time and space, remarkably similar effects on its adherents, and understanding that the “war on terrorism” is in fact a war of self-defense against that Jihad, has no date of expiration and no end, and requires that every instrument of Jihad be countered, and those instruments include not only terrorism and combat (qital), but economic warfare or the weapon of “wealth,” propaganda (“pen, tongue” in Muslim terms) which includes the systematic, well-funded and sinister Call to Islam or Da’wa, by which an imperfect and even primitive understanding of Islam is allowed to hook the economically and psychically marginal, and of course the most important new weapon — that of demography, by which — in an unprecedented manner in human history — large numbers of those who believe in an ideology that is not merely alien, but actively and permanently hostile, have been allowed to settle in, and even been accomodated in every conceivable fashion, within the countries, and hence behind the lines, of Infidels everywhere.
And while they are at this, those members of the 9/11 Commission might do two other things.
The first is to expose the widespread use of Arab money to buy influence among politicians, diplomats, intelligence agents, journalists, and academics in America and throughout the Western world. There is no “oil weapon” for oil is fungible and its sellers all need to sell. But there is, on the other hand, a “money weapon” and that money weapon funds not only mosques and madrasas, but hirelings all over the West. Name some of those hirelings — those ex-diplomats, ex-C.I.A. agents, journalists and so on. Let us see a few of those representative “international business consultants” investigated — Raymond Close, who at the most critical time (1970-1977, when OPEC first fooled the West with its supposed “oil weapon”) was the C.I.A. station chief in Riyadh, and then quit to go into business with the Saudis, is only one of a representative group. And in Britain the Foreign Office has been in the hands of appeasers of the Jihad — some Lawrentians, some antisemites, some hirelings of the Arabs, and some exhibiting features of all three — forever. In France, of course, it is no different, what with the crooks like Roland Dumas and of course Chirac himself (he of the “Kniphausen Hawk” which someone must investigate) have been on the Arab take, directly and indirectly, for a long time.
Only thus can one insure, over the next decades, that there will be fewer such hirelings and traitors. Expose, discuss endlessly, and discredit and shun, all those who are on the receiving end of that Arab money. Drive them from any positions of power or influence. Let their well-heeled and sinister lives be upturned. That is the only way to discourage similar would-be hirelings, traitors to the Infidel world, from being able to spread the kind of propaganda that has been so successful over the past few decades, and even now is one of the reasons why so many wrong decisions, born of a fear of properly identifying the enemy, and working to create the conditions in which that enemy will unavoidably have to realize that the political, economic, social, and intellectual failures of the Muslim countries and peoples are a direct result, not of Western colonialism or that open-ended absurdity, “post-colonialism,” not from “poverty” (Saudi Arabia? Kuwait? the U.A.E.?) and not from lack of “democracy” (what nonsense) and not from “cultural practices” (the “culture” comes entirely from the belief-system that everyone must adhere to, or pretend to) — but from Islam itself.
That was how Communism in the end fell — Alexander Yakovlev and other intelligent people in the Party saw that on its own terms, Communism had failed. That may never happen with Islam, but it can only be contained if enough Infidels, and enough Muslims, are constantly made aware of the failings to Muslims, and the menace to Infidels, of this 7th or 8th century concoction, a vehicle for Arab imperialism, that was constructed to both justify and promote the Arab conquest of non-Arab peoples far more settled, advanced, wealthy, and numerous than their primitive conquerors.
