I just received this email:
Hello sir, I’m interested in your thoughts on the website
www.answering-christianity.com. The author seems to make some of the
arguments you have been looking for.
I responded:
Where? I looked but all I saw were purported refutations of Christianity. What I am looking for is not refutations of Christianity, but Islamic refutations of the Islamic arguments used by jihad terrorists to promote violence.
I have posted two articles today which touch on this: one that shows an “extremist” arguing against reform of Islam on Islamic grounds, and another that purports to refute the terrorists’ version of Islam by means of the Qur’an, but without giving examples.
I have noted many times that self-proclaimed moderate Muslims have not refuted the jihadist version of Islam by arguing for moderation and peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims from the Qur’an. Yet most Western analysts continue to assume that this either has been done or is easy to do. So I am now going to attempt to help this process along. I am calling for papers: I invite Muslims to submit articles in which they use the Qur’an and Sunnah to refute the jihadists. Please construct your arguments not to convince non-Muslims that Islam is peaceful, but to convince Muslims who are familiar with the contents of the Qur’an and Sunnah that Islam is peaceful.
I will consider all submissions carefully and may publish them with comments. Please send submissions to director@jihadwatch.org.
ADDENDUM: I received another email from the sender of the first one above, directing me to a section of the Answering Christianity site containing articles with headings like “According to John Kaminski, 9/11 was the an inside job done by those who took over the country’s government to threaten and dominate the world!” So let me clarify that I would appreciate serious submissions, not ones of the tinfoil-hat variety. If that is not too much to wish for.
