Here’s the latest on Arkansas jihadist Arwah Jaber: Prosecutors Ready, But Don’t Oppose Trial Delay,” from The Morning News, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
FAYETTEVILLE — Prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney’s Office are taking no position on the requested continuance of the trial of a Fayetteville man charged with providing support to a terrorist organization.
Arwah Jaber, 33, faces charges of knowingly attempting to provide material support to Palestinian Islamic Jihad, considered by the government to be a terrorist organization.
Trial is set for Feb. 13 in Fayetteville before Judge Jimm Hendren. But Jaber’s attorneys have asked for a delay, saying they’ve had trouble getting material they need to prepare for trial from the government. They contend that, even if they had the material now, the short time remaining to review and analyze the material and prepare jeopardizes Jaber’s right to constitutional due process and a fair trial….
Jaber also faces charges he lied to get a passport, credit cards and to obtain U.S. citizenship.
