None of us in America would be here, living in safety and prosperity, were it not for the sacrifices of our troops defending our lands in conflicts dating from the time of the American Revolution and before that.
For that any gratitude expressed in words would be insufficient, but I nevertheless tender it on this Memorial Day to all those who wear and have worn the uniform.
And I hope that political correctness and short-sighted self-interest will not long continue to keep our noble fighting forces tied up unnecessarily in quixotic Wilsonian adventures, and that those forces will be freed up, sooner rather than later, to defend us more effectively against the global jihad.
