Anti-dhimmitude in Pakistan. From Pakistan Link: “Minorities” alliance demands abrogation of Hudood laws”
ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) while demanding complete abrogation of the Hudood ordinance has announced to challenge the law at Supreme Court.
The Hudood laws prescribe punishment for theft, alcohol or drug use, and most notoriously, sexual offenses.
In a statement chief of the minorities” alliance Shahbaz Bhatti said that the Hudood ordinance being termed an Islamic Sharia law, so such religious law should not be enforced over the non-Muslim citizens of the country.
Bhatti said that Hudood laws have encroached personal laws of the religious minorities and affected their fundamental rights.
According to clause iii of the article 227 of the constitution and clause ii of the Sharia Act Islamic Sharia laws couldn’t be enforced over the non-Muslims, he said.
Shahbaz Bhatti appealed the chief justice of the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice of the problems being faced by the minorities in the country.
He said that the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance would challenge discriminatory clauses of the Hudood laws in the apex court.
