Transferring money from Syria. “Israel says it uncovered Jihad women’s network,” from AFP:
JERUSALEM (AFP) – Israel’s internal security service has said it had uncovered a cell of six Palestinian women who were members of the radical Islamic Jihad movement in the West Bank and were responsible for a funneling money to it.
“During August and September 2006, the Shin Beth uncovered a network of women activists in the Islamic Jihad which acted as part of the group’s terror infrastructure in the Judea region,” it said in a statement Tuesday.
Under interrogation, the women revealed that they had received money from the group’s headquarters in Syria, which was later transferred to fund “terror cells” in the West Bank, the Shin Beth claimed.
The women were allegedly given 100 dollars for each money transfer.
According to the Shin Beth, an increasing number of women have been involved in activity linked to the radical group, responsible for all recent suicide bombings against Israeli targets.
