I am not posting this story because of what Sadiq Mohammed did, which is a crime committed by men of all backgrounds. I am posting it as possible evidence — if the last paragraph in the excerpt I’ve posted is true — of the crying need for immigration reform in Britain and the West in general. Not only do things like this, but no attempt is made to determine if those entering the country hold jihadist sentiments. Ultimately, of course, that is not enough either: Western states will have to determine — as a preliminary step — whether they want to be Islamized and accept Sharia, or to preserve (or recover) whatever may be left of their own cultures. This will in the first place involve not only questions regarding immigration law, but also laws relating to Muslim populations that are already here. Elements of Sharia that are incompatible with Western society and laws should be outlawed, and Muslim groups invited to renounce them definitively, and demonstrate that renunciation by teaching and working against these things in their schools and mosques. Those who do not do so should not be welcome here.
By John Coles in The Sun, with thanks to Kasper:
A SEX attacker facing deportation for the SECOND time told a court yesterday: “I”m a British citizen”.
Somalian Sadiq Mohammed’s dramatic outburst came as he was sentenced for assaulting a girl of seven.
He was told he must serve at least 2½ years for the terrifying attack and feared being booted out of Britain afterwards.
Mohammed claimed he was made a British citizen in 2005 and that he even had a passport to “prove” it.
He yelled from the dock of Bristol Crown Court: “I”m a British citizen and I should be treated fairly as a British citizen. I”m not an asylum seeker “” I have a small, red English passport.”
Last night the bungling Home Office was trying to establish if he possessed a genuine document.
If so, it would mean the 31-year-old had amazingly been granted citizenship AFTER his first convictions in 2000.
