“One local politician, Augustin Villar” claimed “that al-Qaeda linked organisations would help fund the project.” Even if not, there has been no real action against Al-Qaeda within Muslim communities in Spain or elsewhere, and thus no way to keep Al-Qaeda ops or other jihadists from using any given mosque as a base. Anti-dhimmitude in Spain: from AKI, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
Seville, 18 May (AKI) – Spanish muncipal authorities in Seville reversing a previous decision say they will not grant land to the Muslim community for the construction of a mosque in the southern city’s Bermejales district, a newspaper reported Friday citing a top official. Seville deputy mayor, Emilio Carillo, told the daily ABC that the request to set aside 6,000 square metres of municipal land first allocated to the Muslim community in 2004 has now been denied. No specific reason was given in the report for the shelving of the project.
The construction of the mosque has been mired in controversy, with one local politician, Augustin Villar, of the regional autonomy Andalusian Party claiming that al-Qaeda linked organisations would help fund the project.
