RAWALPINDI, June 8 (APP): The Governor Punjab Lt. General (R) Khalid Maqbool has said that Islam is the religion of peace, promotes respect and categorically negates tendency of extremism and intolerance. He expressed these views while addressing to mammoth gathering at the Urs ceremony of Peer Hazrat Abdul Kareem alias Bawa ji Sarkar at Eid Gah Sharif here on Friday.
Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Men Power Ghulam Sarwar, Dr. Shazad Waseem, Sajada Nasheen Dargah Eidgah Sharif Peer Naqeeb ur Rehman, number of Ulemah and Mushaikh from different parts of the country also spoke on the occasion.
The Governor underscored the need for the expression of unity and harmony among all the sects of Muslim to stymie nefarious designs of anti-Islamic evil forces saying there have been conspiracies against the Muslims in the world to dub as terrorists with bad intentions to dent the integrity of Islam and its followers.
