Israel keeps on supplying them weapons. Israel continues to talk about withdrawal. Israel offers amnesty to Fatah terrorists. Israel released 250 prisoners, and is considering releasing 600 more.
The Fatah response to Olmert’s “goodwill gesture program”? Fight on.
“‘The resistance is our choice,’ says Gazan Al Aqsa Brigades leader,” from Ma’an News Agency:
Gaza – Ma’an — The Fatah-affiliated Al Aqsa Brigades have stated that the positions of the Fayyad government, in regard to armed resistance groups, “doesn’t represent the vision and philosophy of the resistance and the defence of the dignity of Palestinians”.
A statement issued by Abu Al Muntasir, a prominent Aqsa Brigade leader in the Gaza Strip, declared, “This will make it more easy for Hamas to attack the Fatah movement, and say that we are ‘standing against the resistance’. ”
Abu Al Muntasir added that Fayyad “should have insisted on the resistance and its soul, and given his support to it”¦ We will not lay down our weapons, and will not stop our resistance, as long as our people are suffering from the occupation.”
What happened to Abbas’ promise that his al-Aqsa terrorists would lay down their weapons? Why did Olmert release Fatah terrorists when it was clear that the fighting would go on? Why is Olmert considering releasing more? Why is he allowing weapons transfers from Jordan? Why is the US sending more money to Fatah?
Furthermore, I thought Fatah was out of Gaza.
Answers anyone?
