“They shoot abortion doctors in the United States of America! Homophobia is rampant!” Ayaan Hirsi Ali here shreds the moral equivalence put forward by what the “Allahpundit” guy at Hot Air calls a “cartoonishly anti-American Canadian,” a man in equal parts hysterical, ignorant, and arrogant.
This is yet another example of the knee-jerk equivalence between Christianity and Islam that has the effect of diverting people from doing anything about jihad violence and Islamic supremacism — which is, once again, why I wrote my forthcoming book, Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn’t, which will be out August 13 from Regnery Publishing.
Hirsi Ali says: “Islam is not a race…Islam is simply a set of beliefs, and it is not ‘Islamophobic’ to say Islam is incompatible with liberal democracy. It’s not ‘Islamophobic’ to point to those people who use the Qur’an and Hadith to conduct war and to say, ‘This is being done in the name of your religion, do something about it.’ That’s not ‘Islamophobic.’ That’s fair.” But the addled Canadian media tool can hear none of it, of course.
